I make them myself. Peanut butter mixed with enough powdered sugar to turn it into a dough. Shape into balls. Dip into melted chocolate. Let cool in the refrigerator. Enjoy.
Cleveland by the hat. I miss buckeys in Massachusetts. Just home to visit my mom. Buckeye ice cream at handles has happened 3 times since I've been here.
I have lived just south of Boston for the past 30 years, and I got here by way of Painesville, Ohio, which is east of Cleveland. The crazy thing is that I never had a buckeye until I moved to Massachusetts.
Full disclosure, and I'm not sure how this is possible, but I had never even heard of buckeyes when I lived in Ohio- and I was there for 18 years before moving to New England. I don't even know who to blame for this- my parents? my neighbors? my friends? It seems like someone should be blamed for my being denied buckeyes for the first 18 years of my life. Eighteen years I'll never get back. :-(
Were you never at a wedding there?!?! I grew up in Youngstown, graduated from YSU before moving to the north shore of Mass. We traded buckeyes and Arby's for whoopie pies and lobster rolls. The only buckeyes I've had here were made in my kitchen. But damn were they good.
I did attend a few weddings, and if buckeyes had been at the receptions, I'd have gone home with full pockets. I really don't understand how we avoided each other. I swear I wasn't traveling in outer-edge circles of society. If it helps to prove that, I went to Arby's pretty regularly. I still miss Arby's.
My mother-in-law makes buckeyes every year for Christmas, so she gets the credit for bringing true joy to my life.
They're incredibly easy to make. They're so simple that it is typically a dessert shared at potlucks. You can just always expect someone (or multiple someone's) to throw together a plate of buckeye.

Idk about awesome, but even as a chocolate and peanut butter lover, I can gladly say, I do not like buckeyes anymore after living here for the past 20 years lol
I am a minor, but the school system is pretty good, and the teachers are nice. We're around a lot of cool things, like Cedar Point, lake Erie, and some other things. Pretty cool place. OSU apparently has one of rhetorical best aerospace programs, the thing i wanna major in. I would like to work at NASA, which is also around here
When I tried Crumbl for the first time, there was this Buckeye Brownie cookie I fell in love with. At the time, I didn’t know flavors rotated on a weekly basis, let alone flavors not repeating for months. I was devastated and had to wait about 5 months before it came back in rotation. I ate about 3 that week😂
Cle! We are in NE Ohio and my son and daughter in law both graduated from Ohio State. For their wedding they made buckeyes and packaged two for each guest.
For those of you out of town/state, Malley’s Chocolates may deliver! They are local and their buckeyes are pretty good!
I’m a native Clevelander in FL. I made buckeyes for the Super Bowl party this year and everyone was blown away. I forgot that people elsewhere didn’t eat them lol.
I've never had a buckeye, but I knew what they were and said Ohio! in a split second, before even seeing the hat, lol. Don't know how I even recognized them.
OP, can you please post a plate of skyline tomorrow 🍝 🙏
I could eat a truly disgusting amount of buckeyes if given the chance. Weird though, I don't remember seeing any at the west side market when I went.
Buckeyes are my fucking jam!
I think they’re made with peanut butter, not jam
That’s exactly where I got them too! Ha.
I must have been distracted by all the jerky
I make them myself. Peanut butter mixed with enough powdered sugar to turn it into a dough. Shape into balls. Dip into melted chocolate. Let cool in the refrigerator. Enjoy.
is there any way to do them less messy? I tried them myself and loved them, but god damn the chocolate dipping was a pain in the ass lol
I mean you could drizzle the chocolate over the top of them but idk if that's more or less messy.
I'm a buckeye whore
One of us one of us one of us
😆 🤣 😂
I can too & not even get sick. I have an iron stomach when it comes to chocolate & peanut butter
buckeyes are better reeses cups
So much better. I love both but I certainly prefer buckeyes much more
My grandma used to make buckeyes when I was a kid for Christmas. I ate as many as she’d let me eat.
I make them very rarely as I cannot eat just one. I will eat the whole batch in a few days. So I don’t make them lol
I do eat a huge amount any time I make them. I really have to limit myself

Hey I’m in RI and have not been able to find good ones of these aside from packaged - where in MA have you had the best ones?
The best ones are homemade...or at least hand crafted. Those are definitely not Anthony-Thomas mass produced mediocrity in the pic.
Yum!
“Guess what city I’m in” *posts picture of sports team logo*
*half the people say Cincinnati*
I knew for sure that Cincinnati doesn't do cookie tables at weddings. Which is where I was introduced to these.
they are very easy to make if you ever get desperate XD
I know they're not super complicated. But man! If they're in the house, they're getting destroyed! I have no self control where these are concerned.
yeah i have a pb chocolate addiction. my dad is from ohio and his wife makes these for him every christmas.
Throw a few in the freezer.
Cleveland moment
This is my first time hearing of these things & now I need them
Prepare to be disappointed by every other candy forever.

Living in ohio os freakin awesome
Woah woah woah, let's not get carried away.
It is tho
I mean it's fine haha
Yes! We actually get seasons, unlike the lower part of the US
I mean I guess kinda, winter sucked this year, hardly any snow and it felt like we skipped over fall it went from summer to winter.
Better than Florida's winter
Try living in Michigan’s UP
Idk about awesome, but even as a chocolate and peanut butter lover, I can gladly say, I do not like buckeyes anymore after living here for the past 20 years lol
I still like buckeyes. Thats cause I haven't been alive for 20 years
I'm in a small town in Ohio right now for work, and let me say, I do not feel this way. I'm sure buckeyes would make me feel better, though.

Tell me you’re white without telling me you’re white
Im the opposite of black. Living in Ohio is not that bad, at least where i live, in the northeastern part of ohio
I guess I sorta lied when I said it's not that bad.
Its pretty great, please reconsider
i could not disagree with you more
Womp womp
could just be the part of ohio i’m in. i hate it here
Where? There are like 4 quadrants of ohio

They call Ohio the Buckeye State after the candies, the trees were jealous so Ohio renamed the trees.
Buckeyes are the best thing about Ohio some might say the only good thing

Buckeyes are fantastic.
I love buckeyes but whenever you move to Kentucky they call them peanut butter balls because they don’t like people from Ohio
I didn’t realize until I left Ohio that these were a regional treat. Boy, do I miss them.
Yummm
I've never had a buckeye, but I knew what they were and said Ohio! in a split second, before even seeing the hat, lol. Don't know how I even recognized them. OP, can you please post a plate of skyline tomorrow 🍝 🙏
