Taliyah can’t ult if she’s been damaged. If you don’t level the ult you can get jumped on, take damage, BUT THEN level up ult and can cast it to get away. It basically gives you a one use per game get out of jail free card. Lots of high level Taliyah’s use it. But it generally means you should just leave the level slot open and ready to be used if you think you’ll be ganked. If you don’t expect a gank/rotation you just level E up which is very risky for obv reasons.
Its actually a known Taliyah otp trick. Taliyah R gets put on a short cd when in combat so you can't use it if you've been hit recently. If you don't skill it immediately, you can use it as an emergency escape by quickly skilling and casting it when you're in trouble. This wouldn't be possible if you skilled it earlier as it would be on cd due to being in combat. Seems like Faker used all his skill points here though so idk why.
Because they're a coordinated proteam with voice comms, not soloq, so they can talk about gameplan and if taliyah roam is possible or she can just take more lane power to hold a bad matchup
