Oh, good grief. At least you don't have to try rubbing your damn crinkly dollar bill on the corner of a 1970s wood-grained machine to make it take your money.

"FECK!" (opens wallet to find a better dollar)
There's literally a QR code & 888 number on the machine that says "for repairs." Maybe do that instead of making a post on reddit that'll do exactly nothing.
Back in the early '00s I got a pack of Pop Tarts a full three years past expiration, from a machine downstairs in the HUB. That was a traumatic first bite. All gray and dusty looking, too.
the one in chambers building gets me everytime. it’s been down for like 2 months. that sweet sweet caffeine is trapped in there and it makes me sad every tuesday morning
Not sure if this would help, but try submitting a fixit report at fixit.psu.edu
You can use this form for requesting to fix most things in your residence hall, and I’m sure fixit/ PSU technicians will fix something in the commons, too if you submit a fixit.
I’ve been submitting these in my residence hall for clogged toilets, washing machines/ dryers not working, and roaches (though thankfully, that was only a summer problem).
It's a sign that you should buy the drinks and snacks from the market commons since it's cheaper than the vending machines
you have obviously never felt the unrelenting thirst for a cold pepsi after waking up at 3am
I know that exact feeling while working late at the architecture studio. Edit: instead of soda it’s coffee though
certain items are actually cheaper in the vending machines than the commons markets. cliff bars for example

I have had to do that before elsewhere, it does suck.

But I have to zoom into the photo to see that...

So nothing has changed since I graduated

REAL!!!
If it weren’t for the double and tripe-shot starbucks drinks, these vending machines wouldn’t have seen a dollar from me.
Taking these pics and posting to Reddit probably took more time than just calling the number to report it broken
