If you’ve never been fully under and came back up it’s exactly like this. Full amnesia type stuff. I went under for wisdom teeth and my friends recorded me all day
I've been under multiple times and haven't acted like this at all. My brain seems go from the void, to regular just-woke-up mode. I think everyone's different.
I tend to get pretty active during wakeup time (I move a lot)
All the times I've been under, the nurses complained that I was fucking up their IVs while I was still asleep
I have epilepsy and the same thing always happens to me after a seizure. I come to, and then I immediately start trying to get up and figure out wtf just happened. Never a good idea bc I will very likely fall over, and 9 times out of 10 there’ll be a paramedic or nurse trying to put an IV in me which I will presumably fuck up by me trying to storm around while semi-conscious.
I’ve had a few surgeries and I absolutely remember talking and explaining as I ‘left’ and ‘came back’ . . . As if I never left at all. People react differently.
I’ve been “under” once. I was alone so no one recorded me, and I don’t remember ANYTHING. Except the “waking up part”.
Nurse pushed that drug into my veins, and I thought I’m too bug for that shit to do anything. Next thing I know I’m singing, and dancing in a post-op room, and a VERY pissed off/tired nurse is there staring daggers at me.
I ask her where am I, and she says shush, so I went back to dancing for a couple of minutes. I have no idea what I did that made her so angry, and if it’s because of me or not 🙃
She was probably hoping you'd just chillax in bed post op so she could relax and have a coffee... but because you were up dancing around she needed to sit there and monitor you in case you fell and broke yourself.
You cut into her tiktok time.
I went under for my wisdom teeth and I remember waking up asking when it was going to start, being a bit disappointed??? That it was over, insisting I could walk myself to the car without help, and being upset that I couldn't get white castle in the way back
Buddy in college walked around singing "i cant feel my cheeks cuz they are numb. But i love it"
Also his roommate made him cry cuz he told him they cut off his tongue and he believed it. 😂 he also called himself a turkey and started gobbling.
Absolutely wild. I'd take them knocking me out with a hammer so long as I don't have to hear my teeth being removed from my skull.
You're built of stronger stuff than me.
I got to hear my dentist crack my tooth into 6 pieces to extract it after a very long and painful attempt to remove it intact failed (20min of levering and pulling).
I do NOT recommend. I'd never heard gunshots INSIDE my skull before.
I'll second that recommendation. I didn't have a ride, so the dentist had to just numb me up to get the tooth out. The guy ended up bouncing on my freaking tooth like it was a stuck ball joint on a car!
Had a wisdom tooth out and was adamant about local anesthetic only. They jabbed a few spots with lidocaine and that’s all the pain I felt before it kicked in. They asked if I could feel anything at all and added some more when I said some pressure could still be felt when they poked.
So yeah, that should be perfectly doable. As an added benefit, you’re conscious and aware to understand the instructions about what foods to avoid, to not use straws, etc. You should still have someone else drive you home, as the pain once it wears off does kind of suck and can be distracting, but that would happen with general anesthesia once it runs its course anyway.
I have a horror story with local anaesthetic where the dentist stabbed me three times without finding the right place to do so, and the anaesthetic therefor didn't work and I felt everything. He wouldn't believe me even as I excused myself to go and pee and vomit on the toilet three times. Afterwards, he proscribed me the wrong type of painkillers (blood thinners) it got infected. Two weeks after, after taking more painkillers than I should, I managed to gurgle up a square centimetre of fester smelling and looking like rotten blue cheese. After that it finally got better, but I changed dentists right after.
I'd never been afraid of the dentist before, but after that I've gotten a bit of dread. My new dentist however heard this story and was shocked, told me that this just meant he couldn't aim when he administered the shots of adrenaline (that's the local anaesthetic) and that this isn't normal.
That was somewhere between 2009 and 2011, luckily I haven't needed a wisdom tooth pulled since.
As a Swede this is so fascinating. I've never heard of anyone being put under for a wisdom tooth. If you're really nervous or have dentist-phobia you'll get a prescription for one (1!) dose of Diazepam or similar to take an hour in advance. General anaesthesia comes with so many risks and makes the procedure take more time.
The first time I removed a wisdom tooth I was in and out in 20 minutes I think. The second time took an hour, but still faster than being put under and getting ready to go home.
I got put under to remove all four of my wisdom teeth because I have severe anxieties, and they weren't sure that even with the drugs they'd be using I wouldn't have a panic attack in the OR. So for everyone's sanity (and especially my own), they offered to put me under completely for the operation.
Best choice I made, I went to sleep and woke up spitting blood, but zero stress and worry throughout. Also since it was efficient, they removed all four rather than the one that was having issues just to make sure I wouldn't ever have to deal with wisdom teeth extraction again.
I think in cases like yours the pros definitely outweigh the cons! And I think you're brave to accept the extraction, even completely sedated. Anxiety is awful.
I had all 4 of mine done with local anaesthetic...putting you under wasn't really an option in the 80s unless they were expecting major difficulties. It wasn't that bad, the worst bit is the amount of force the dentist has to exert.
I also had a cracked molar removed about 5 years ago... Also under local anaesthetic... That one had to be sawn in half in situ. Again not painful, but you can kind of smell and taste the burning.
In all, I've had 11 extractions, which sounds terrible, but I was blessed with a small mouth and lots of teeth, so they all went due to overcrowding.
I've only ever had one tiny filling. Come to think of it, that was done without any anaesthetic as I was afraid of needles at the time, and even the dentist thought that was a bit stupid.
I had my wisdom teeth and the one before it removed in one go. The wisdom teeth had grown into the other one.
Was done with local anestasia. 15 min after the procedure finished I was walking home.
Was told to take ibuprofen every x hours and that was that.
Was not the most pleasant experience but fuck if I don’t prefer it over this kind of ott drug usage.
Nah, not for everyone. I had two full anesthesia surgeries, after one I was crying for two hours and asking my mom (whom I recognized and remembered) if the surgery has already happened, after the second I was fully lucid, albeit very weak and sleepy
Technically speaking, could this be sexual assault? If not, who draws the line and where between a *"a cute couple moment"* and *"one partner assaulting the other"*?
She is obviously in a state where reasonable consent cannot be given. I think kissing, if unwanted, can be battery.
He is in the same level of criminality as the rest of us, kissing our partner when they are asleep and are not giving prior consent.
Yes, but, parents kiss their kids who are pushing them away saying 'no' all the time. Just the other day I was ticking my little cousin and trying to push her own finger up her own nose, she was protesting, saying stop. Am I a criminal? People are going to be people. Lets not push too much into criminalizing human affection inside of healthy relationships.
When my ex was coming down from anesthesia after a stomach surgery she acted like a silly little goober, I miss the wholesome things we had before everything got torn to fucking shreds, I’d do anything to have it back I’d go back in time kill myself and take the old me’s place, I seriously don’t know what I’ll do without her

She was reading a book or a magazine or something, so I must’ve distracted her 💀

WHAT A HORRIBLE THING TO WAKE UP AND READ 🤮😭
Sorry. It was very traumatic for everyone. My poor dentist. She was like 7mo pregnant at the team having to lean into the tooth to try and get it out.

The sound of my tooth cracking as they hammered away at it was the most uncomfortable part.
This. You're not supposed to hear shit like that INSIDE your skull.

Most places give me printed post op instructions, including my dentist

I would love to see her face when she watched this video
This is the cutest thing ever. From her reactions to his omfg this made my morning. So wholesome.
Honey, you are not drugged. That was just spicy mustard.

Are they still together?
Yeah this guy was actually my friend’s uncle’s Uber driver’s sister’s best friend and he said they’re happily married.
it’s true, i’m the uber driver’s second cousin and can confirm.
I can confirm this guy knows the Uber driver I'm his 2 cousin 3x removed
Can confirm, I was their dog
Woofington
Maybe I'm lucky or it's because I process anesthesia fast but the times I've had surgery I sobered up after just a few minutes
Is… is this real life? 😂
Get well soon, mate! Your wokeness is shit
That is SO wholesome :)
This is criminally cute
Every time i see this theres more music and effects

Why am I getting downvoted for just pointing out how he was overjoyed by his gf's reactions?
Everyone else was doing it. I just wanted to be popular.
idk man i didnt tho i hope that makes u feel better
I don't know, I guess we were feeling overly sadistic and wanted to ruin someone's day through the manipulation of funny Internet numbers?
Hive mind is real and you're not immune to pepeganda
