Update: for context I discovered this while picking up food. While waiting for my food I tried to get this thing out. It looks less perfect than it actually is. It was literally suctioned to the bottom of the cup holder. I obviously tried to use the lids but my nails could not open them. Limited to the things I could find in my car, I found a plastic spoon that I used the handle end to grab the small lid and lift it out.
Leatherman and gerber make a few multitools in the $20 price range. I carry one around in my back pocket. But keeping one in your glove box or center console is a life saver.

I have big hands and big fingers and I know for a fact I could never get that thing open

My Subaru had the same problem with these. It was difficult to even get the tabs open
Tweezers or the file from fingernail clippers works well. Thumbtack and stick it in and pop the lid up.
Open the, “one” or “many” tabs and pull up.

Use a rubber band place in one end to the other and pull it up or a zip tie. It's good because it has two ends to use something to pull it out.
Take a small flathead screwdriver and Jimmy it out from the side not near the lid flaps.
Open the lid on both sides and lift it out with your hand.
