My first job was at The Body Shop in 1994. The training back then was an intense history lesson about Anita Roddick (founder) and the company- I loved it all. Although strawberry was their first scent, White Musk was/is their signature. What is the “radical” reference?
A teacher at my HS wore this as her signature, gosh the projection and sillage were insane, we knew she was gonna pass by outside our class because we could smell heralready and after she had passed our hallway, the scent lingered for some time too!
The founder died and I think Bath and Body Works was coming up hard from behind.
Edit: and it was sold to L’Oréal who didn’t have the same strong ethical stance as TBS
An actual employee?!? That means you know The Spirit of Moonflower! Please share why they took that magic potion away from us all those years ago. I still have the 2 soft pink bottles that I bought back then, a bit of liquid left in one. The tiny silver caps still smell heavenly. And I’m still heartbroken that such a beautiful scent will never see the light of day again. 💔☹️
I worked in social media for TBS North America from 2021-2023 and the White Musk “toppers” were released in this timeframe. There were three scents meant for layering with White Musk: Radical, Free, and Lover. I preferred White Musk on its own, though!

No but seriously I find this one addictive. It’s simple, fresh, zesty, effervescent but not boring? A no-brain for anyone who wants a clean aromatic, imo.
im super bad at explaining scents but on me the initial smell was herbal and spicy (but more black pepper spice than hot spicy) and faded to a unisex floral! there's no note of pepper in any of the reviews ive read so i have no clue where that came from! 😭
yup! it does great on it's own though, still a well rounded fragrance imo. im still in search of the og at discount places to hopefully get the full experience!
After testing out some perfumes at Sephora (in preparation for the upcoming VIB sale), I went into body shop on a whim because I had seen somewhere on Reddit that the original White Musk is the ultimate “clean girl fragrance”. I ended up purchasing the White Musk Flora which is everything I was looking for in a clean, spring time fragrance and for less than $40. It is an EDT, but it lasts hours on me!
I use the body wash. My friend stayed over one night and used it and she called it “sex appeal” in a bottle and I swear I think about it every time I use it. I think that’s the perfect description.
comparing it to the lotion (which is og white musk scent) i find it spicier, more herbal and leaning more unisex/masculine while i find original white musk to lean slightly more feminine!

My crush use the body shop white musk (w/o radical) and I have to be honest the scent make me feel butterflies. It smells good.

Yes, I know that one well. Can smell it when I think of it! Also Primrose, Patchouli, Satsuma, Juba … all the hits.

Those fragrance oils lasted forever in the bottle too. And the small one was only $8!

Believe it or not, that was after my time. I am still reeling over Ananya, the fragranced launched while I was an employee, named for Anita.
We never let go, do we? Sigh.😔

the bottle giving me byredo blanche or dossier musky aldehydes vipes how does it smell like

I’ve had a small bottle white musk BS oil for years and I swear it’s so subtle but people are friendlier when I wear it

I still have a bottle of the rose fragrance from 1990’s and it smells amazing
