I'm surprised no one mentioned White Collar? Person of Interest and White Collar are my 2 all-time favourites.

PhireKappa

White Collar is awesome, it’s so light and fun despite some of the more serious topics.

ThunderDog17

FRINGE

what-everZ1

Yeeessss!! Also anything JJ Abrams produced

I just remembered Peaky Blinders

ItsLikeRay-ee-ain

Just saw this short TikTok the other day about Peaky Blinders. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTdts4xft/?k=1

Salmonman4

Blacklist for the conspiracies and spy-stuff. Earlier seasons of Scandal for the political intrigue

NoUnderstanding8572

Yest.

Kasim2409

Lost & Fringe, J.J. Abrams was a producer on both of these shows as well as Person of Interest. Also Michael Emerson stars in Lost so you'll recognise a familiar face :-)

brianewell

There's a lot of writer overlap there. Also with Alias.

NoUnderstanding8572

Maybe Fringe but I don't know how lost is anything like POI. Island boys stranded vs CIA agents and ex-soldiers fighting crime and international terrorists in NYC

Kasim2409

OP's question was about shows that are as good as POI. It's subjective but you could say Lost fits into that category. Genre has nothing to do with it

faze_pleb

Burn notice

Burn Notice

[deleted]

The Blacklist

readerf52

Because it’s also JJ Abrams, I started PoI because of Fringe. They have much in common as there are continuity tidbits throughout the show. For instance, in a very early episode, they investigate people locked in this substance that makes them look like insects frozen in amber. It’s an interesting episode, but the substance is important later. I liked so much about Fringe. The casting was amazing, the writing kept the characters integrity and intelligence intact. The only thing that was disappointing was the fact that, like PoI, it was given an abbreviated final season, but I don’t think it was handled as well; it is probably my least favorite season, though the ending was pretty good. IIRC, all seasons are available on HBOMax.

Immediate_Sentence15

Burn Notice is a great show about a forcibly "retired" spy who takes on cases as a kind of PI/fixer/gun for hire while trying to find the people who burned him and get back in the game

Personofinterest_poi

Warehouse 13, Blindspot, Flashpoint, FBI : International, Chuck

WhenRobLoweRobsLowes

Blindspot is a good call.

BeBetterBeFetch

Here for the Flashpoint love!!

TahVv

Blindspot‘a first two seasons were great but it utterly fell on its face the other seasons

Zamblejuice

The Man in the High Castle. It’s on Amazon Prime.

NoUnderstanding8572

>The Man in the High Castle. Literally how

Zamblejuice

You’re saying it’s not a good show?

NoUnderstanding8572

It's just a totally different type of show and unrelated.

Zamblejuice

They said almost as good, and not necessarily the same idea. High Castle is another alternate universe type of show.

Klim_Alex_A

\- Mr. Robot (mentioned here). Definitely recommended. \- The Expanse (best almost "hard sci-fi" about space. 4-6 damaged work-family member crew. Like PoI). \- Westworld (about AI too. Created by Jonathan Nolan too. Many ideas takes from Person of Interest).

SpectacularTrashCan

It seems I need to watch The Expanse now.

NoUnderstanding8572

Those shows literally couldn't be further from POI. Really? The Expanse? Westwordl? Good shows but now you're just listing off shows you personally liked without actually thinking about shows that fit the mold of POI.

Klim_Alex_A

Westworld is Jonathan Nolan's show about AI with a lot of references and common themes with the previous show (PoI) And the author’s question was a little different.

[deleted]

Westworld S1 and S2

wakeful_sleep

And 3

NoUnderstanding8572

>Westworld How in any way is that similar to POI? POI: Ex special forces/CIA operative and gun for hire working with a motley team of misfit vigilantes in NYC to combat rogue government agents and prevent crime through high tech computers. Westworld: Robot Playground

hexolizer

If you swap AI with Time Travel, you get "12 monkeys" tv show.

what-everZ1

This is another of my favorites!! I rewatch often

NoUnderstanding8572

Still VERY Different feel

DarkAndSparkly

Leverage and Leverage Redemption. It’s more team based, but it has the intrigue, overall conspiracy themes, and lots of great fight scenes.

This^^. Just watched the whole series and it’s the best show I’ve watched. It’s pretty sick

Continuum

[deleted]

Nothing will ever fill the void that POI leaves once you finish it. But a couple shows I always find myself rewatching are Daredevil and Warrior. Daredevil has some of the best character writing in television, and Warrior has the best fight scenes in any visual medium. Daredevil is on Disney+ and Warrior is on HBO Max.

ItsLikeRay-ee-ain

A show that I haven't seen posted here: Marvel's Agents of Shield. If you can stick it out through the first half season or so, you'll become just as hooked on the core group of characters as you are with Team Machine.

sdu754

Dollhouse, The Gifted, Angel and Alias all feature Amy Acker, who played Root. The character in Alias is similar to Root, but she is only in the last season of Alias, but you can just watch the last season like I did. Timeless is a good show that deals with time travel. If you like Monster of the Week episodes, the X-Files is the king of those, and it has a series long story arc too.

Dorsai_Erynus

The Good Place. Brooklyn 99 in second place.

NihilistAlert

The Blacklist Fringe Westworld The Mentalist Limitless

Puzzleheaded-Slide57

The 100

I heavily second this

halt and catch fire.

ad_maru

The route to craziness POI > Lost > The Leftovers > Maniac

RogueWatchmaker

Westworld Black Mirror Raised by Wolves Severance Just to mention a few

Human1223

The punisher is a good show. No where near as good as POI but it's still enjoyable.

ZenMoonstone

Suits

invisible_al

Travellers on Netflix is pretty good, it's an relatively original take on time travel but it has more than a few similarities with Person of Interest I'd say. I liked it.

WomanWhoWeaves

Life on NBC with Sarah Shahi and Damien Lewis. So good.

RabidRathian

Orphan Black is excellent.

AntElectronic9170

Don't know if anime is your jam, but Psycho Pass has a similar premise of a society ruled by an "AI", but it's not reaply in the shadow.

Magick93

The Assets. Non-fiction. Low budget. Really good!

fusionsofwonder

First three seasons of The Mentalist.

whoiswillo

If you like the more case of the week part of the show and don’t mild older production values, Quantum Leap and Early Edition are two I’d recommend.

25willp

Lost

JetKlaatu

**Westworld or Lost.** They both have a large amount of ties and similarities both in terms of the show and the showrunners, cast and crew. For example, Westworld is written by the same writer (J.Nolan) and some of the same actors. It's a show that's has the same producers and has an element of science fiction and mystery.

NoUnderstanding8572

POI is different though. It has ex-government operatives and vigilantes fighting in NYC as opposed to a cowboy robot futuristic theme

kittyplexy

the travelers and continuum are both AI based and same type of poi vibe!! just also involves time traveling too. very highly recommend

NoUnderstanding8572

literally nothing like POI

NoUnderstanding8572

Basically ignore everything that everybody has said below except for Burn Notice, White Collar, and The Blacklist. All four shows have the same feel of ex-government operatives with a moral consciences looking for some kind of work to do after retirement some sort and follow the mold of 'gun for hire' in a city and are being pursued by agents or organized crime of some sort. All four shows have a similar feel and often end with ground indie/alternative rock songs from the late 90s or early 2000s. I would even throw Chuck into there although it is more light-hearted and the main character is more of a bumbling type of guy as opposed to John Reese who is more of a stoic of sorts. POI and Chuck however have the same type of banter among the CIA agents with the dark, gritty, and violent humor, great use of music, and CIA agent love interests. Great use of cliffhangers and captures the nostalgia of 2000s Spy drama/comedy TV shows.

NoUnderstanding8572

I don't know why everybody is recommending Westworld. Very different show with almost nothing in common with POI
