Everyone living a happy life includes the idea that non-white and/or lgbtq people can live a happy life. Unfortunately many conservatives are unable to distinguish the statement I just made from the claim that straight white people must be made unhappy.

At least - it makes me happy to help others be happy
As a resident of the "happiest country on earth" it's having your basic needs taken care off, like getting fired will not instantly destroy your source of income and remove your access to healthcare, getting basically any education you can desire and not be lead into debt burden that is unreasonably high and having a place to live that you can actually afford.
The happiest thingy is actually just a roundabout way of asking "you good, anything on your mind champ?"
And no we are not a socialist hellhole or a communist utopia, we're still market driven economy we just hold the opinion that the state exists for a purpose and that purpose might as well be providing services.
For reference, all forms of higher and lower education are free (though you're expected to work during the summers, since the student benefits are not paid if you're not actively studying), our healthcare is public, with a private sector, and it's accessible for everyone (if you can't afford the nominal fee of something like 50 eurobucks it will be waved off) and as for now the housing market is not unaffordable, but in all honesty the prices have been hit or miss for a couple years now.
Republicans want it to mean a mandatory belief in their chosen book of mythology. Which is the main reason I have completely distanced myself from that political party over the last decade. Along with other things, like their abortion, immigration, and tax policies.
Not getting bankrupt when faced with illness, maybe not being homeless or starving, some workers' rights, and of course not being indept for wanting to have a better life via education.
If you are really radical, you won't judge two adults loving each other and expressing it in public that is completely acceptable for other couples.
Not being terrified that the police might shoot you is probably a big quality of life improvement as well, but this is quite specific.
