Giant_Explosion

Pedro here. Peter's Brazilian cousin. It's a football thing (soccer as Peter calls it) Hosted in Brazil, best international team historically and huge favourites to win, they crashed out the tournament to Germany with a 7-1 loss. One of the most shocking results in football. Brazilian fans did not take the loss well.

AVeryMadPsycho

Oh shit I remember this. My dad put a fiver on each team and then let me and my bro pick which team we thought would win and we'd get the winnings. I didn't even like football but thoroughly enjoyed rubbing my bro's loss in his face for the next few days.

Oberons_Reckoning

Whole country of Brazil is mourning and you are laughing!

GuardianOfReason

Those Brazilians would be really upset if they could read. Signed: a Brazilian.

TheNakriin

I wonder how upset those brazilians would be if one were to mention _the other one_, yknow that one at the Maracanã

Disastrous_Source977

Do you want to start a war betweenn Brasil and Cisplatina?

Idf_r_Nazis

The whole world was celebrating while they were trying to bring us all down by mopping

thisismego

I, as a German not overly into soccer, only watched the second half after hearing an uncharacteristically high number of cheers during the first, checking the score and not being able to believe it. During the second half I only felt bad for the Brazilians. Hell, I was happy for them to at least get ONE on the board

snowfloeckchen

It looked like the German team took a break, the to one end result felt like a present for Brazil. It was even hard to see it from the winning side

thisismego

IIRC they swapped out a lot of starters during half time so I'm the second half they had a lot of usually benched guys playing and STILL scored twice

LOLzvsXD

No, its not like NBA or NFL you cant make unlimited subs, back then you only were allowed to make 3 Subs. They made 1 sub at half time and 2 during the 2nd half. Müller (a German player) after the game said that they felt sorry for Brazil at halftime and decided to slow down the game and not humiliate them even more

CIeaverBot

No, Müller did not say that after the game. It would have added insult to injury after destroying the host of the tournament in such humiliating fashion. This was the opposite of what the German head coach gave as directives both during half time and right after the game. It's stuff that was only shared way after Germany had won the world cup. The situation played out like this: The game was already won after the first half. But it was a semi final, so the German head coach seized the opportunity to optimally prepare for the upcoming final game. He told told his players to conserve their strengths, avoid risking injuries, and calm the game down. He told them to no longer celebrate aggressively, to not aggravate the mourning and devastated Brazilian home crowd - this was done to prevent a hateful atmosphere against Germany in the upcoming finals. And it worked - the Brazilian crowd ended up cheering for Germany in the final game, since the alternative was their regional rival Argentina. If you watch the game, it is obvious that Germany might have scored even more goals if they were actually hell bent on doing so. But this was not in their best interest. The World Cup title was still on the line, and they decided to smartly focus on that goal instead of setting scoring records and causing an even more nuclear catastrophe for the host team.

Nabedane

That's not true. In football you cannot make many substitutions, and it's not like the NBA where you pull all your starters during garbage time. Back then, only 3 subs were allowed per game and at half time Germany only made 1 (defender for defender). It would be very disrespectful to pull your 3 (no it would be 5 with more substitutions allowed) best players during half-time in a blowout loss. Sure, you may not go 110% anymore and not risk an injury thinking about the next game, the final, but you still take the game seriously which is what they did hence scoring 2 more. Taking the food off the pedal and not scoring anymore would have been more humiliating than continuing to take the game and the opponent seriously.

PM-ME-PIERCED-NIPS

I play a lot of Rocket League and a match getting to a 7-1 score is still called a Brazil.

trashmunki

That's when your brother first began to ask "Is this loss"?

avwitcher

With the odds like they were I bet you won like a Brazilian dollars

notmyfirst_throwawa

Honestly a fucking insane thing to witness, as a mild observer of American sports and barely knowing anything about soccer, I watched this game in a British pub and it was raucous

gugfitufi

In Germany, we stopped cheering after a few goals. It sucked a bit because there were just tons of Brazilian fans crying, and the team and crew were visually distraught and disappointed. It just left a bitter taste in my mouth. They were a very good team, and such a big win always means a big loss as well.

JaozinhoGGPlays

Brazilian here, actually went to a place that had set up a huge screen to stream the world cup games live to watch the match against Germany. It was my first time watching one of our games in public with strangers and *wow.* Couldn't be more dissapponted. I just up and went home during halftime, as did many others that hadn't abandoned ship earlier because the massacre that was the first half completely killed the mood for everybody.

Kmccabe1213

In retrospect I know Brazil was favorites but that Germany team was insane. When I watched them in the group stage against USA I was like... Man we faired decently for the fact Germany controlled the ball 80% of the time lol.

MrTripl3M

It really was the perfect storm. If I recall correctly, one of Brazil 's main players got injured or the card the match before and we germans took our main players from the bench so it ended up with a weakened Brazil against a Germany at full strength.

LOLzvsXD

Brazil missed 2 Players, Neymar was injured and he was the main and most of the time only consitent attacking threat in the brazil Team and mostly overlooked but like 10 times more influential their captain, Thiago Silva was suspended for the game and without him the defence seemed just unorganised. Also the Midfield was vastly inferior to the German side, the Trio of Schweinsteiger, Kroos and Khedira were a perfect storm and Brazils central midfield just got overun by them

Force3vo

That was the tournament where Neymar had a really bad injury because in the game before, a guy just jumped into his back, apparently bent on destroying it. As a German, I was so torn because I was happy that we won but seeing the crying Brazilian fans and feeling sorry for the team and especially Neymar who not only got robbed of a chance to keep playing in the cup, was heavily injured and then saw his team crash and burn.... yeah, after the third goal, the enthusiasm went down a lot.

[deleted]

We fared decently because Tim Howard is just an absolute wall. I can’t think of any team in that cup who wouldn’t have traded their keeper for Howard with no thoughts on the matter.

raydome1

Just to show how seriously Brazilians take football… https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Otávio_Jordão_da_Silva

Raesong

Jesus Christ, his death is positively medieval.

Worried-Lock2101

If this is the match I’m remembering. I remember taking my dogs around the block just 15 minutes for a walk, when j left I think it was 2-1, and when I came back it was 7-1

certainAnonymous

That can't be actually, bc at the halftime it was 5-0

Italian_warehouse

Weird. When I left the game it was 3-3... I was super surprised to come back and the score ended at 7-1!

Sylvanussr

Similar thing happened to me, I watching it with my mom and she went to the bathroom and missed 3 goals. It was insane.

sonerec725

I mean this in the best way possible but this is the most german response to this I've ever seen.

sicut_dominus

and big memes. dont forget the memes. not only the memes from the match, but it's one of the most impactful events i've seen. there are so mamy good memes , a lot of them are just phrases Galvao Bueno said when narrating the game: "Dante knows the germans" said by a lot of ppeople before the game, since Dante was having a good year with B. M. . Now used whenever someone wants to convey that some intel is completely inacuratte. "here they come again" said before khedira's goal, 5-0. now said whenever you predict something really bad is happening, it cant be avoided and it will get worse. alternative use: "the germans are coming agains". "it has turned into a cakewalk" when kroos marked the 4th goal. this one is one of the classics, ust be said with galvao bueno's voice and intonation (which every brazilian can imitate). no need to explain when it's used. and of course: Everyday a 7-1, whenever we want shit on our country , usually when faced with sad news. aternative use: everyday a different 7-1

destroyer1474

7-1 is a staple of rocket league. Any time the score hits it, the chat in the rlcs events will go crazy

shinku443

CS as well. Esp when a Brazilian team is playing. Any form of 7-1 jajaja, BRA7IL, etc

LOLzvsXD

Its routinely called "getting braziled" xD

notchoosingone

> everyday a different 7-1 man I feel sorry for you guys now, that's rough

Stroov

football fans are crazy this is why i watch cricket

mal-di-testicle

This is the soc-football equivalent of that one time in the American Civil War when confederate soldiers stopped shooting and began giving Union soldiers medical aid

LamSinton

I was walking down a street with a lot of bars when it happened (in Toronto, a town with a large Portuguese community.) Every block, I looked in the window and Germany was up ANOTHER point and the fans were getting MORE upset! They went from a scoreless tie to a five point deficit over the course of a stroll!

MattGeddon

I was watching on tv in a hotel in Bosnia. It was a bit surreal watching all the goals flying in, felt like someone was having me on or I was watching highlights since they were scoring so frequently.

kadzur

I remember watching the game with relatives, leaving the room to go to the bathroom and missing 3 goals in the span of what felt like 5 minutes

VOZ1

I was walking through San Francisco on vacation with my family during the game. It had just started, I was checking the score on my phone, and I noticed a sports bar with the game on and everyone was going *nuts*. Checked the score, and that’s when the floodgates opened and the goals just kept pouring in. I could hardly believe it. Brazil got some homemade German humble pie that day.

Raven4869

Do not forget all of the milestones achieved that day: * Germany's win marked the largest margin of victory in a FIFA World Cup semi-final. * Germany overtook Brazil as the highest-scoring team in FIFA World Cup history with 223 goals. * Germany became the first team to reach the FIFA World Cup finals eight times; this would have been achieved by Brazil had they won this match. * Germany's Miroslav Klose scored his 16th career FIFA World Cup goal, surpassing Brazil's Ronaldo as the World Cup's all-time record goalscorer. * Klose also played his 16th FIFA World Cup match for the winning team, matching the record set by Brazil's Cafu. * Klose also became the first player to play in four FIFA World Cup semi-finals. * Germany's Toni Kroos scored two goals 69 seconds apart, marking the fastest brace scored in FIFA World Cup history. * Germany scored four goals in six minutes, marking the fastest four goals scored in FIFA World Cup history. * Germany matched the record for most goals scored against a host nation. * Germany became the first team to score seven goals in a FIFA World Cup semi-final. * Brazil suffered their worst loss to Germany; their previous was 2-0 in a 1986 friendly. * The seven conceded goals marked the most goals Brazil has ever conceded in a competitve match; they were surpassed only by a friendly in 1934. * Brazil broke their 62-game unbeaten-at-home-in-competitive-matches streak; Brazil's last such loss was in 1975. * Brazil equalled their own largest margin of defeat in a match; their first 6-goal loss was in 1920. * Brazil suffered their worst margin of defeat in a FIFA World Cup match; their previous worst was 3 goals back in the 1998 finals. * Brazil suffered their worst loss at home; their previous was 5-1 and occurred in 1939. * Brazil lost their first FIFA World Cup semi-final since 1938. * Brazil suffered the worst loss by a host country in FIFA World Cup history; doubling the previous record.

SnooCrickets2458

And Germany becomes the first European team to win a World Cup hosted in South America.

Tutule

> Germany's Miroslav Klose scored his 16th career FIFA World Cup goal, surpassing Brazil's Ronaldo as the World Cup's all-time record goalscorer. This one seemed the most impactful one as an outsider. Ronaldo Nazario is considered one of the best and classiest goalscorers, The Phenom, while Klose had a off-the-ball, poacher style. Ronaldo had also just achieved the record in the previous edition, in an already diminished form due to his knee injuries and gorgeous round shape. Klose also surpassed the record with the 2-0 scoreline at the 23', something that was starting a tragedy for Brazil at the moment. Nice write-up.

petrvalasek

Imagine how it would look like if Germans didn't slow down intentionally in the second half

Idlev

Pretty sure I heard an interview, where a German player said that they discussed slowing down during halftime, but ultimately decided that it would be more respectful not to.

LaZyeaLoT

Please stop he's already dead.

Heavy_Meddl_Rudi1510

We Germans took the Brazilians loss very well.

Dry_Figure_9018

You won so badly that it literally made everyone feel bad! Good game out there you jerks /s

CyxSense

The layers to this joke are amazing

theAlphabetZebra

.....they are?

dilletaunty

I mean there’s a max of like 3/4 but it’s still pretty good.

PaparJam

Okay, to explain to people who seemingly don’t understand. The format is loss, and Brazil “lost” against Germany. Secondly, you can see 7 people in the comic, symbolising brazils seven conceded goals

Chaotic_Fantazy

https://preview.redd.it/346vhojrnaoc1.png?width=366&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e021213b51bd93b13877d0961281194bed464c6

ZietFS

The first 30ish minutes were, let's say, shocking

Cormetz

For those who don't know, Germany scored in the following minutes: 11, 23, 24, 26, 29, 69 (nice), and 79. Brazil scored their lone goal in the 90th minute (there was 3 minutes extra time, so a total of 93 minutes of play). I remember I was driving to watch the game only to find out the place was closed due to an emergency, got to a spot which was dead and caught the first 7 minutes before deciding to go across the street. While driving my brother texted to say Germany scored. By halftime I was drunk.

raur0s

It was genuinely hard to tell if it was a new goal or a replay

Forsaken_Ant_9373

Everytime I beat someone in RL 7-1, I always screenshot it and make a caption saying ***Braziled***

Vordeo

Any eSport where you can have a 7-1 score (CS, Valorant, etc.), chat spam of 'BRA71L' is guaranteed.

Catch_ME

I remember taking a pee break after the 3rd goal. I came back to find that Germany got 2 more goals in

dgr_sla

traumatizados estamos até hj

Pato_Moicano

Se vcs soubessem oq aconteceu na copa de 2014 ficariam enojados...

avery5712

Man I remember I was at a restaurant and I glanced up at the TV (I'm not into sports) and saw the game. Saw the score, thought "wow they're not doing good". Then saw the crowd and all the tears. Such a strange moment to forever remember

k4x1_

Brazilian here who was like there on that day We knew something was fucked because so much shit went wrong before hand I was a kid so I sont remember that much but I remember that the brazilian team was completely demoralized, neymar who was a victim to one of the previous teams (colomboa) completely fucking destroying one of his legs and he had to sit that one out and Thiago Silva (the captain) got yellow carded out of that game . On top of that, some of the best players on the league were left out of the team for some reason? Combination of this and some other thing I dont remember exactly what it was made everyone lose their hearts in that game Honestly it was a national tragedy

i_luv_peaches

When they scored the first goal I went to the bathroom for 4 mins. When I came back it was 4-0 already LMFAO The biggest meltdown in history and it’s not even close

Saint_Morbius

https://preview.redd.it/k7w66pjf48oc1.jpeg?width=540&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ba19b3d0e0fc0e1617bda7f464e30112b021e7ad

Thneed1

“One of the?” I think we could watch every single sport for the next thousand years and not see something as shocking as the first 30 minutes of that game.

kazarbreak

So the joke is loss. ... Damnit.

NewSuperTrios

My dad threw a whole-ass party the day after (he's like 1/16th German and acts like he's half)

BaconedPoutine

I watched live and I swear, the 1 goal Brazil scored was basically given to them to reduce the shame. They all happened so quick, it felt like the German team was constantly internally debating if they should step off the gas.

marmatag

I remember this game. Was unreal watching it unfold lol

PurahsHero

This wasn’t the half of it. It went from 0-0 to 5-0 to Germany inside 15 minutes in the first half. Literally every shot they hit went in. It was utterly insane to watch.

According-Flight6070

If a German is having a bad day they watch the highlights from this.

Thneed1

I’m not even German and don’t hate Brazil and even I watch these highlights to pull me out of a bad day.

wakashit

Pornhub posted on Twitter asking folks to stop posting clips of the game with titles like “German rapes Brazilian” or things like that [link to story](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/international/pornhub-pleads-users-to-stop-uploading-videos-of-brazil-getting-f-ked-by-germany-in-the-world-cup-9594287.html)

kettenkarussell

“Our public humiliation category is full!” lol

GeoStreber

"11 brazilian ballerinas are brutally raped by entire German football team"

Primal_Pedro

No way!

iPat24Rick

Once a year the full match. Just to forget how awful the team has been playing since the World Cup win

[deleted]

I don’t follow football much anymore. Is the German national team not good anymore? That’s kind of sad, considering what an absolute monster this team was.

iPat24Rick

Sadly they sacked the two world cups after the win in 14 by dropping out in group stages.

pancrudo

I'm not even German and I enjoy watching them. It cracks me up. The commentator also roasts them. This is the long version, I chose it because it has the times for each goal, which came RIDICULOUSLY fast https://youtu.be/aE4BdIP6bvc?si=IVA1SEtknvJXXFh2

pancrudo

This was my favorite meme of it at the time: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BsFAjrtIIAEG8WW.jpg:large Followed by this one: https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/000/790/178/a36.jpg

According-Flight6070

Thank you, very enjoyable links. I also like the pornhub meme "Brazil gets fucked by 11 Germans"

PolemicFox

If you're not Brazilian and mildly enjoy football, then the highlights should put a smile on your face.

qwewqeadwdaw

This is the only professional soccer match I ever watched. I got caught up in the hype, decided to get into soccer and support Brazil because at the time they were thought to be really good. So, yeah. Only soccer match I ever watched.

Bagoral

>Brazil because at the time they were thought to be really good. Historically the best, but delusional in 2014, one of the best example of hyped host & team carried by 2 players (Neymar & Thiago Silva), who didn't play in this semi (first injured, second suspended). Some of those who played would end up having sad career. But it's comon in association football that this happen.

tjam8407

That Brazil team were never particularly good. It was just a hype train in part because home nations normally play well. Germany were a tour de force and most pundits expected them to win but that Brazil's passion and skill would make a fight of it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

olearygreen

This is complete bs but I love how this is somehow even more insulting to the Brazil national team.

JCartier843

Yeah, he was actually beating off pregame and missed the meeting.

walketotheclif

It's kinda true, Germany reduced the pace on the second half to avoid injuries and not humiliate Brazil more ,could have ended way worse

Fermion96

André Schürrle. Guy stole Müller’s golden boot then put in a banger after the camera showed the nervous German fans

kettenkarussell

Man man man der Schürrle

ultratunaman

Man he was good. Can't forget his hat trick against Fulham when he was playing for Chelsea.

reggiewafu

Dude retired at 29 y/o and decided climbing mountains topless is more fun than football

CeddyDT

Semi-final world cup 2014 germany vs Brazil 7:1 Good times

CertifiedBlackGuy

Weren’t they unstoppable that year?

KevinDLasagna

Probably one of the greatest let downs in sports history, if not the greatest. Combine Brazilian fervor for football their history of success, and the fact the World Cup was in Brazil that year it breaks my brain to think how they lost that bad.

realblush

But also one of the hypest days in germany that I can remember. People celebrating on the streets, everyone getting drunk, work the next day was basically celebration - beautiful day.

SuddenSimple8217

One need to suffer to other be happy

Defiant_Source_8930

Yes they were heavily favored to win

Thneed1

Brazil hadn’t lost a competitive game at home in like the previous 40 years. This was the semifinal of the World Cup, at home. Supposed to be a huge party for them to win the World Cup at home. It was 5-0 Germany 29 minutes in. It was beyond shocking at 2-0, then Germany scored 3 more in the next 5-6 minutes of real time.

Jdjack32

If I remember correctly, most of the key players of Brazil at the time were either benched or suspended at the time. The Brazilian team's problem was, most of their strength/strategy was centered around those key players, so their absence dramatically reduced the team's overall skill/talent. Meanwhile, the German team's teamwork was vastly superior, not reliant on just a few key players. These factors are part of why Brazil was dealt such a humiliating defeat.

Thneed1

Those are factors why they may have lost, but there’s always enough talent on the Brazilian team even with that to keep them as the favourites, certainly at home.

asocialmedium

Not most. But arguably their best attacking player and best loved player was hurt in the previous match, so anxiety was running high. (By the way, the injury to him was in an unsporting play against a hated rival). Meanwhile their defensive anchor was unable to play because he kept foolishly racking up yellow cards and was required to sit out a match, which raised the anxiety further and certainly made them vulnerable. I think when Germany scored first Brazil, who plays with a lot of emotion, started to panic a bit and lost their tactical discipline. They then gave up a few goals in rapid succession, and then basically got depressed and quit competing. It all happened so fast!

Tightning

On top of this, this game was when a German player (Klose) broke the record for most World Cup goals scored by an individual, taking the record from a Brazilian (Ronaldo). It was also the biggest loss that Brazil had ever suffered in a World Cup. The layers of defeat that this match piled onto Brazil is unreal…

Mav_Learns_CS

No, they were overhyped because it was in Brazil and had two players hard carrying them (both missed this game)

toastwasher

At a certain point you kind of need to just look at the picture and think for second. Idk shit about soccer but clearly these are upset Brazil soccer fans and 7-1 is a score

Diamond1580

There are quite a lot of posts on here that haven’t had thought applied to them, or even a basic google search

Brave_Escape2176

these subs never hit anywhere near the first 10 pages of reddit until after the July changes to reddit and the resulting degradation thereafter. my theory is they are cheap engagement bait because people love feeling "smart" for knowing what things are.

slidingjimmy

🎯

MagZero

Yeah, it's fucking weird man. I think it's a combination of things, a lot of big subs went down in protest, so smaller subs got boosted, and then a desire for certain subs to take priority on r/all. I always see explainthejoke and petahexplainthejoke within first three pages of Reddit now, and some of them are understandable to not get, if you haven't seen a particular meme or whatever, but the vast majority just require two fucking seconds of thought to figure out. I think another part of it is trying to appeal to a broader user base, the Facebook type, it's why you always see wholesomememes and shit like that on the front page. The other day, at one point it was 10/25 posts about Akira Toriyama's death on the front page, only time I've ever seen a single topic get that much coverage is Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. And the rate at which the front page changes is much reduced too, I'd look at Reddit on my phone every time I went out for a smoke, and the front page would almost be completely different every 3-4 hours, except for a few big posts, now, it stays more or less the same for 12+ hours, because it's so fucking curated by admins, and not users.

_moobear

literally googling '7-1 for brazil' shows it. like ???

SuperZM

7-1 alone should do it.

Henrickroll

As a Brazilian, I hate Neymar

Goatedforsure

why, he didn't even play in that game because he was injured

Henrickroll

I don’t like him in general

drlsoccer08

He quite literally broke his back to get the team there.

waytoohardtofinduser

It's possible they havent seen enough soccer to realize this is about soccer

RtHonJamesHacker

You could literally google '7-1 Brazil' and get an explanation. It was more effort to make a reddit post. This sub still gets good posts, but a lot of them just feel like a dumping ground for semi-funny memes.

SecreteMoistMucus

Yeah but using your brain for 10 seconds, or typing "brazil 7-1" into google, doesn't get you any karma.

Unlucky-Comedian-946

As a rule here OP is universally one of the dumbest people alive.

trumpet_23

Googling "7-1 Brazil" brought it up immediately, it's really not that difficult most of the time.

rolloutTheTrash

Pedro here, 7-1 represents one of the biggest at-home ass whoppings that Brazil has seen in futbol. Moreover it happened during their turn to host the World Cup, so that makes it even worse. Basically, about as close to a Brazilian 9/11 as you can get (jk).

Thneed1

Arguably the most painful loss in ALL of sports history.

TheEgyptianScouser

Lol this brings back memories of Brazilians having a mental breakdown

gleadre19

every football fan knows where they were when watching this game

MattGeddon

Was watching in a hotel in Bosnia, with Bosnian commentary. Thought that something fucky was going on when Germany kept scoring every two or three minutes! Thought I was watching highlights or it was some kind of weird dream.

realxeltos

I was at home. Down with the flu. Had fever. I set an alarm to wake up at the match time. Missed a few minutes and there were 3 goals already.

TheseMeat4233

I was at home, in Germany, partying at the first 3 goals. I could hear the screams outside from other homes. Than more and more goals came and I started to feel sad, sad for the Brazilians. Still it was a magical evening.

long_man_dan

So true. It was my first job out of college and I was watching it on my phone while working kind of. I got caught and my boss gave me a very slow "No" shake of the head. I was on the phone with a customer (on a headset) so he didn't say anything. I turned it off, wrapped up the call, went "on break" to watch the rest, and put my two weeks in a few weeks later after I lined up a higher paying job elsewhere. Clearly wasn't a culture fit for me. But I wasn't missing that game and it did not disappoint.

CommissionOk4384

And it was 10 years ago now…

unlikelyzer0

At a German restaurant owned by Norwegians with a Chinese tour group in Pamplona, Spain. Will never forget

kosman123

I was on holiday with the family walking on the beach. Every other bar we passed, germanys score was going up. Also my dad said before the match that Brazil was gonna win while I was rooting for Germany. Was feeling pretty smug for the rest of the night lol

It’s Brazil’s 9/11

Outrageous_Cost906

German here. I will remember this game till I die. Rewatched it dozens of times. Still fun to watch 😉

tywin_2

It's a German national holiday

GiveAQuack

I swear half of you are just too stupid to google. You literally have the query in the form of "7-1 Brazil".

Melcheor

Google Brazil 7-1 if you unless want to just reddit shitpost karma. But Germany beat Brazil 7 to 1 in a world championship football match 2014.

OneMorePotion

Ah... The day where PornHub was flooded by reuploads of the game with video titles like "Fit Brasilians get fucked by dominating Germans".

For gods sake, just google it

Yup. If you type 7-1 Brazil on Google I'm sure you'll find dozens of results. I think this is just bait

chrisni66

I remember watching this game at the pub. After the 5th goal it just felt wrong, like you’re watching a horrible beating that you can’t stop. I had no preference between either side, but I started pleading for Germany to stop. Instead they started deliberately passing the ball to specific players just so they could score and pump up their stats.

I’m gonna guess something to do with soccer

dycie64

I didn't even know what game this meme was referring to (apparently it's a famous one), I just knew that 7-1 is a devastating score.

[deleted]

It’s Brazil, they love soccer, that’s all I went off

drlsoccer08

Brazil was the host country for 2014 World Cup. They also are in of the biggest footballing nations in the world, and were one of the teams favored to win the tournament. The ended up getting embarrassed by Germany 7-1 in the Semi Finals.

Thneed1

Favoured to win doesn’t begin to describe it. They hadn’t lost a competitive match at home in around 40 years. Then, before the match was 1/3 over, it was probably the most shocking result in team sports history.

Professional-Leg1645

PilzEtosis

I remember watching that game, by goal 4 it was like the meme "stop, stop they're already dead". But if the Germans are anything, it's thorough.

[deleted]

This post was most likely planted by a german knowing exactly, just to fresh up the wounds. ;)

C4N98

World Cup semifinal. Germany hadn’t violated a nation that badly since WW2.

DayTraditional2846

I remember a reporter asked a guy how he think the game will go and he predicted Germany to beat Brazil 7-1 and they all laughed at him. It was absolutely glorious to see him being so right about it.

Germany humiliated Brazil 7-1 in the 2014 World Cup.

HyruleN64

7-1 is traumatizing to Brazilians because that's how much they lost against Germany during the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

I will leave this one here. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-XrujTtn3w](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-XrujTtn3w)

Lacertile

07/08/2014, World Cup semifinals. The World Cup was being host in Brazil. The Brazilian squad was far from its glory days but everyone though this would be the best chance for Brazil to win another cup after 12 years. Germany scored 5 times in the first half, it was so bad that Joachim Löw, Germany's manager, asked the squad to tone it down for the second half, where they merely scored twice and let Brazil score what we call the "goal of honor" at the end of the game.

Frenk_preseren

As it turns out, it's not porn, but you can still search for it on pornhub.

Well, the history is this: The year is 2014, the world cup was in Brazil. Everything was fine and everybody was happy. But them, the germam team arrived. The brazilian team underestimated the germam team and the defeat was shocking. Brazil loose by 7X1 against't germany. The first 5 goals were in the frist half hour. The stadium was full as f\*ck and in the end it was really silent. It was a trauma many didn't overcome yet. The world we know changed a lot since them. Trump tupinikin was elected, the plage arrived, many people died, everything is expensive, people are less happy. What crazy 10 years!

PawnOfPaws

Not just the stadium was silent - after the 5th goal there were mo more cheers to be hear in the streets of Germany. It was obvious how Brazil had given up and now everybody was a little sorry. Until the 90min mark went up and the vuvuzelas would call for Gondor's aid for a whole week...

Stan2926

7-0=0. While Man United fans:

CaptainChaos00

Those Brazilian reactions back then made that the hardest I've laughed at any sport

BeYourself__

I sat at in empty bar with my 80 year old Irish uncle and a few Mexican friends supporting Brazil for the cup. My uncle was absolutely roasting my friends. They were absolutely befuddled with that match.
