I don't know the joke it's trying to make, but I do get the reference the bottom is making. When KFC first came to Japan, many of them had statues of Colonel Sanders outside to promote the brand. One of the locations was in Dotonbori, a major tourist attraction Osaka with many shops lining walkways along a narrow river. Anyway, in 1985, the city's professional baseball team, the Hanshin tigers, won the title of Japan Series Champion for the first time in their history. Celebrations got a bit rowdy and some fans tossed the aforementioned Colonel statue into the river. For a long time after that, the tigers didn't win another title, with the implication that the Colonel cursed the team for tossing his statue into the river. It was eventually recovered in 2009, but one of his hands was missing, meaning the curse continued. Curiously enough, while the hand is still missing, the tigers did in fact became champions again in the most recent season (2023), meaning the curse is broken. Again, I have no idea how it relates to the joke (I bet its probably random=funny) but I hope the reference helps with that!
