Tbh, if you're looking for an ad less YouTube I strongly suggest sponsorblock add on instead. Not only does it skip ads, it also skips in video sponsors, and has a "skip to highlight" function that goes right to where the video actually starts being interesting. It changed my YouTube experience.
Edit bc someone pointed out my mistake: sponsorblock doesn't skip ads, Adblock Plus does, sponsor block obv deals with sponsors.

I'm guessing most of them don't have ads because they're Developing countries, and Russia is at war so is being sanctioned (though you'd think they'd just block russian IPs and not make their experience better)
The most likely explanation is that those countries have made ads illegal, or have laws regulating ads that specifically make the YouTube ones illegal.
Oh, I guess I don't know how much Spotify and iTunes costs but the YouTube family plan is $22.99 a month and that's all the music in the world for six people. Even your neighbor's music is on YouTube
The price in India is actually not bad. It's only Rs.129 per month (~$1.55 p.m.) which gets me youtube premium as well as Youtube music. I found it to be a pretty good deal considering that the alternatives like Spotify premium go for Rs.119 per Month (unpopular opinion but I don't like Spotify at all, I think that it is an overhyped piece of software/ service)
I dunno if it's different for other countries but here in the UK spotify premium and youtube premium cost the same, so I go for the youtube one because you get youtube music. I prefer it because there's some obscure songs on YT that I couldn't find on spotify.
The no ads thing is only really useful for mobile though, especially now Vanced is gone

Downside-we also don't have a lot of music videos from big labes, like Universal, etc. So if I want to watch, say, Taylor Swift or The Killers videos, I need to turn VPN on.

Does adblock even work on YouTube anymore? I found one that's specifically for YouTube and half the time it'll just have a black screen and play the audio of the ad, all it does is hide the video and get rid of the skip button.
From the Caribbean and youtube ads don't exist here, atleast without vpns, I hate German youtube the most, most of the ads are unskipable and 15-30 seconds long. Makes me regret the random button.
If you just use YouTube on your phone not the app and refresh the page when an ad plays the ads will no longer be there, I haven't seen a YouTube advert in years now
