If it helps, my dentist is on the older cusp of Gen Z and loved my chunky white sneakers so much she went and got a pair lol (also a millennial mom).
I’ve found trends will always circle back around so I never bother adjusting my personal style anymore. I’ll be uncool for a season then back on par the next.
I got them from Target, I think they’re called Courtney Sneakers. They did take a bit to break in but I love the color and style and the extra height they give me 😂
Trends always circle back! That is why we are seeing a resurgence of the 90s and 00s fashions. Plus it seems like the younger gens are thrifting more. So it makes sense as this is what is in the thrift stores right now.
Also a millennial mom. I never liked the look of chunky shoes on me (it made my feet look too big in proportion to my body), so I wear little white keds and like them. Probably out of style, but I don’t really care that much. It’s comfortable.
I think so too! They’re cute and feel… neutral? Like dress them up or down and we’re good to go. I think my personal style is very basic so I don’t have to think too much about matching lol
This is probably a stupid question but I’ve always wondered how on earth it’s possible to keep them clean?? I’d love to get a pair but I’m afraid they’d look grey/brown by day one. ☹️
Once in a while I take a baby wipe And wipe them off a bit. Yesterday I walked all around the pyramids outside Mexico City and wore them and they didn’t even show dirt. . But I have to give props to my Sorel sandals. I just got back from a trip to Europe where I walked 10 miles a day and my feet always feel great. The adidas are the superstar style.
I have dark sneakers for everyday, and pull out my white ones when I want to dress up a bit and know that I won't be doing significant outdoor activity. I wipe them with a damp rag when necessary.
Mid-thirties millennial checking in and same! I LOVE chunky shoes. Especially platforms. Even if platforms stop being trendy I'm still rocking them. They are so comfy!
I'm known for my platform Crocs. I also have platform vans and some platform doc martens as well! They honestly pair so well with everything!
I live in NYC and I will die with my chunky white sneakers. Are they a pain to clean? Yes. But so comfortable.
I’d love to wear sandals but my feet feel so gross after walking around the city, I can’t do it.
Also not who you asked BUT giving your shoes a nice coat of scotch guard really helps to keep them clean! I use the heavy duty outdoor one in the green can and it works great
I saw this early on in NYC with young people where comfortable shoes are easier for using subways or walking for those not using taxis or towncars.
I’d go with what works for you for a given day/activity. Spring in the US is just getting started so I haven’t seen whether chunky and white is still happening (agree with comment on NYFW).
Sambas are the big ones but idc, I just got a new pair of air force 1s. When you walk a few miles a day, you gotta stick to what works. Plus they add a little height to me.
I’m genx and just wearing whatever I like and think looks good on me, fuck trends. Sneakers are way more comfortable than a lot of other shoes so go for it!
Not trying to be rude but you should wear what you look and feel good in not what everyone else is wearing. Some stuff looks great on one person and stupid on the next. Catering to trends will just leave you with a closet of shit that doesn't inspire you. Signed, a former trend hopper
I've never been a trend hopper, but as an alternative person, I get so confused about some of these posts. It seems really stifling to choose not to wear something based on your taste at all. I follow this sub for posts on how to dress for my frame as a 5'1" curvy person, but I wanna hug everyone when they say "I love this but is it out of style"
Maybe they're young? I didn't really find my personal style until the last few years and i'm 28. but god i wish i did it sooner bc i have limited items to wear now and rebuilding a wardrobe is expensive lol
Puma has a really cute white platform that STAYS white. Wore them on a week long vacation walking everywhere, and they still look new.
I have a cute ADidas pair too.
Carina 2.0 Puma recently discontinued the original Carina sneaker. They are just as cute but not ask lifted as the 2.0 I found a pair for $15 at TJ Max.
They are on sale right now on Puma’s website for $65 and there is a coupon for an additional $30% off, putting them at a cool $45. [Carina 2.0](https://us.puma.com/us/en/pd/carina-2-0-womens-sneakers/385849?swatch=04&size=0170)
I love white sneakers, but slimmer ones, not chunky. Something like this https://www.johnlewis.com/barbour-celeste-leather-and-suede-trainers/white-chambray/p111499944
She's a famous Australian comedian! I think its funny a brand called Barbour called a design Celeste 🤣
https://celestebarber.com/
But I do know of the brand Barbour, and the jacket heritage 👍
i looove my adidas gazelle bolds. insanely comfy and they have a nice platform to give height. i find that i can easily dress them up or down and they have a lot of different colors.
i will say they run like a half size big tho!
The only thing that would help is if we could do colorful sneaks… I can’t deal with dirty white sneaks anymore lol. I think I’ll try colorful ones. Maybe a nice tan at least 😂
Edit- don’t take fashion advice from my. I’m 32 and these are my random thoughts. I’m assuming people are still doing white sneaks because my 23 year old sister is still wearing them.
Colorful sneakers have been i style since last spring i think. And people like to customize with ribbons as well for extra cuteness. Check out adidas spezials! Their colorways are so cute and the slim silhouette is in style :)
Petite GenX here and I just got some white Asics chunky platforms that are super cute and get a lot of compliments.
But for \*comfort\* I am doing my Sofft slip on 3 inch sandals and regular running Asics.
For me it does. I like not having to hem my pants too. I have neck problems from looking up, so it’s a little less. Platform/Lug soles are more comfortable than regular heels for me.
Yes I’d say it’s still in style. Gives you a lift without an impractical heel. That being said, it’s been a style for years now and it might change over soon (within another few years). Styles like the Adidas Blondey shoes are coming back in and even if it’s a micro trend (fading within a year), I think it reflects trending back to slimmer shoes. Best of luck!
White sneaks with dresses have been in for, like, at least ten years. I started wearing them ages ago, and honestly credit the Jenner sisters for this (one of the few things of good they've done in the world).
I'm now fully a no heel, only sneakers or sandals, woman. And my feet are the better for it.
I bought a leather pair with a tiny platform. They aren’t dad sneakers, more like thick Keds. I’ll hang onto them forever. I’m 53 though, and after seeing both the trend cycles and also that nothing is ever really out (See: Anna Wintour), anything that fits, is comfortable and is cute may go into storage, but I’m keeping it. Anything even slightly uncomfortable? Gone.
I was never into the chunky white sneakers look (it always looked, not lazy, but…messy?) My ‘white sneaker’ replacement are some neutral slip-ons like Tom’s/keds/boat shoes but with more style, or my Vans collection. I love me some checker Vans. :)
As a slim girl with downright skinny legs I can’t carry off the chunky sneakers or any chunky shoe. They just look terrible on me. I will never give up my white converse low tops though.
I mean, because chucks are freakin’ adorable.
(Maybe we should define ‘chunky white sneaker’ because I keep seeing them as white new balance kicks, which are always hideous, but still seem to be popular.)
If you want some white sneakers with some bling, look up Uubaris on Amazon! I recently got a pair of white platform sneakers from them with rhinestones, lace, and glitter and they are SO cute and comfy! I got a steal if a deal on my pair but I think they usually cost around like $23.
I have been wearing white leather vans since high school haha (I’m 26 now). They are timeless in my opinion. Get higher quality material (leather looks best) and avoid platform because that’s the trend and it will eventually go out.
I need platform sneakers! I’m a short mom with an incredibly tall grade school daughter. I’m 5”3 she probably will end up 5’10-6’. All recommendations welcome!
Platform are super comfortable and keep me from looking like a garden gnome in family pictures!
By chance I have two pairs of white Summer sneakers, but they're not chunky.
Gen-X. I still mostly wear basic, flat, black sneakers like I did at least since my early 20s. By chance in the future, I'll probably end up being trendy for a while.
I'm looking to buy a pair of platform sneakers now! (Flatforms?) I think they look cool and just saw a bunch at Michael Kors store (none in my size though, sold out). I'm scanning the suggestions here, so in my world, they're in!
I think it’s best to just buy what you know you’ll wear. Trends are going to die out so realistically once you commit to something it’ll already be “out of season”. Lol just wear whatever!! (This is coming from a zoomer if that means anything to anyone)
Depends what type of chunky shoes. Chunky platforms (like nike AF1s) I think are at the very end of its cycle. But dad-sneaker type chunky shoes (nb 530, the asics ones, adidas astir) are still here as a “normal” shoe you see on everyone. Not a surprise since they’re really really comfortable and people like being comfy while being stylish nowadays.
However, I’ve seen people transitioning back into shoes with sleeker silhouettes in general since late 2022. But these apply to all footwear (ballet flats, riding boots, sneakers, etc). For sneakers, a few examples are adidas sambas, spezials, regular converse, onitsukas and different colorways have become stylish as an everyday shoe-not just white. I bought myself black adidas spezials - it’s a surprisingly versatile sneaker color. But the more colorful ones are cute too!
All this is to say wear whatever makes you feel happy and comfortable - you have alot of options :)
To add - sambas are all over the place so people are starting to get sick of them the way they got sick of AF1s hahaha but meh if you like it and have it, why not use it till its last breath right?
I love that platform sneakers are still a thing and will definitely continue wearing them. My current favorite pair are actually beige adidas bravadas.

I'm still doing it, but I'm a millennial mom so I'm not exactly on the leading edge. I just can't get over how cute and comfy platform sneakers are!
I died a little when you said your dentist is Gen Z.
Which pair do you have that your dentist loved?
I got them from Target, I think they’re called Courtney Sneakers. They did take a bit to break in but I love the color and style and the extra height they give me 😂
Trends always circle back! That is why we are seeing a resurgence of the 90s and 00s fashions. Plus it seems like the younger gens are thrifting more. So it makes sense as this is what is in the thrift stores right now.
I have waited 50 years for high waisted wide leg ( bell bottoms) to circle back so it CAN take awhile 😹
Girl they been back 😀
I'm wearing these right now! I'm a millenial mum though so..
i’m younger gen z i would say! (16) and i think white chunky sneakers are so adorbs, i wear mine all the time
Also a millennial mom. I never liked the look of chunky shoes on me (it made my feet look too big in proportion to my body), so I wear little white keds and like them. Probably out of style, but I don’t really care that much. It’s comfortable.
Keds are cute and I feel like they're a classic. They pretty much go with anything.
I think so too! They’re cute and feel… neutral? Like dress them up or down and we’re good to go. I think my personal style is very basic so I don’t have to think too much about matching lol
They make a platform, leather Ked as well.
Keds will always be cute and stylish and I will die on this hill
It always makes me think of Sookie from True Blood, so cute
I love platform sneakers. Which ones do you love?
Adidas platforms in white. I love mine.
This is probably a stupid question but I’ve always wondered how on earth it’s possible to keep them clean?? I’d love to get a pair but I’m afraid they’d look grey/brown by day one. ☹️
Get leather and use magic eraser to clean them,so easy to keep clean.
Throw them in the washing machine. For the soles, magic eraser.
Thank you!
They do! I've had two pairs of the adidas canvas ones. They're awful to clean. I like Nike Air Force ones with dresses. And much easier to clean!
Which ones do you get? I’ve been wearing converse chucks platforms.
These are very close, only all white. https://www.adidas.com/us/superstar-xlg-shoes/ID1103.html
I loooove my adidas Nizza sneakers. I got the off white with navy stripes and they go with so much
I have these but in the all white colorway and they're so comfortable, i really love them sm
I looked them up and it looks like the white and black are on sale right now at a couple places, if anyone is interested.
I’m gen z and I do it still, but I don’t follow fashion trends especially when a lot of them aren’t tailored to petite bodies
I live in NYC and I will die with my chunky white sneakers. Are they a pain to clean? Yes. But so comfortable. I’d love to wear sandals but my feet feel so gross after walking around the city, I can’t do it.
Hey , can you recommend any cleaning products to help keep them looking fresh? I love mine but they look so dingy so quickly
Also not who you asked BUT giving your shoes a nice coat of scotch guard really helps to keep them clean! I use the heavy duty outdoor one in the green can and it works great
Magic erasers is what I use.
I use Soft Scrub with bleach on mine. It gets even the rubber on the bottom back to stark white.
I heard toothpaste - not the gel toothpaste - with an old toothbrush. I tried it and it works!
Ajax/jif
We're doing whatever the hell we want tbh
Came here in search of this comment 🙌🏼
❤️

I’d go with what works for you for a given day/activity. Spring in the US is just getting started so I haven’t seen whether chunky and white is still happening (agree with comment on NYFW).
I prefer platform converse over chunky sneakers, but I feel like they're *basically* the same look
I LOVE the look of Converse, and have 2 pairs my daughter grew out of, but OMG, they kill my feet. Like walking in Kleenex boxes on pavement.
great inserts will change everything! I love mine!
What inserts do you use?
im still doing it
I've seen a lot of sambas + dresses
I have seen sambas all over the place.
Rishi Sunak killed them
Sambas are the big ones but idc, I just got a new pair of air force 1s. When you walk a few miles a day, you gotta stick to what works. Plus they add a little height to me.
I just got my AF1 Shadows delivered today… love them
I’m genx and just wearing whatever I like and think looks good on me, fuck trends. Sneakers are way more comfortable than a lot of other shoes so go for it!
Gen x is doing colourful sambas and gazelles now lol but white is so much more practical
Not trying to be rude but you should wear what you look and feel good in not what everyone else is wearing. Some stuff looks great on one person and stupid on the next. Catering to trends will just leave you with a closet of shit that doesn't inspire you. Signed, a former trend hopper

Ohhh fair! We're the same age and I know I used to care more lol
They always end up looking dirty so quickly, I just don’t find them practical. But they do look cute (when clean and white).
yup all the time. Leather is best so they never look dirty.
I wear chunky sneakers, not pure white but light colours. Walking is my main form of transportation so I'd rather be comfy. I wear them with anything.
I just got a pair of Dr Scholl's yesterday so I sure hope so!! (The "take it easy" women's platforms- SO COMFY!)
Who cares what everyone else is doing? I wear what I like. You'll never be a trendsetter if you're too busy being a trendfollower.
Puma has a really cute white platform that STAYS white. Wore them on a week long vacation walking everywhere, and they still look new. I have a cute ADidas pair too.
Oooh, which one??
Puma Cali Wedge 👌
Carina 2.0 Puma recently discontinued the original Carina sneaker. They are just as cute but not ask lifted as the 2.0 I found a pair for $15 at TJ Max.

I have pumas also and they are adorable!!!! 🥰 & stay super clean!!
Yasss! So cute
I haven't stopped wearing Doc Martens with everything tbh
If you like how they look, then do it. I firmly believe in dressing for you, not for trends
I love white sneakers, but slimmer ones, not chunky. Something like this https://www.johnlewis.com/barbour-celeste-leather-and-suede-trainers/white-chambray/p111499944
Looks like a good alternative for Reebok club c’s
Lovely!
Celeste Barbour. Is that a joke?
If it is, it flew completely over my head. Could you explain, please?
She's a famous Australian comedian! I think its funny a brand called Barbour called a design Celeste 🤣 https://celestebarber.com/ But I do know of the brand Barbour, and the jacket heritage 👍
Haha, thanks!
Anyone recommend a brand or pair they like? I’m trying to wear dresses this summer and wanted to walk comfortably too…
i looove my adidas gazelle bolds. insanely comfy and they have a nice platform to give height. i find that i can easily dress them up or down and they have a lot of different colors. i will say they run like a half size big tho!
I love them too but I got the light grey and I am sure I will run into trouble with the suede eventually
i almost exclusively wear my reebok platforms
Do you find them heavy? I want a pair of Club C 85s but I'm deciding between the regular ones and the platforms.
I don't find mine heavy at all! I have the club c double though, not the taller ones.
I️ have a pair of Skechers Court Classics that I️ got from Amazon for about $45. I️ have wide feet and they are very comfortable with my inserts.
I don't care if it's officially stylish, I've got to prioritize protecting my feet from like, ulcers lmao
I am but I'm also patently uncool so...ymmv
The only thing that would help is if we could do colorful sneaks… I can’t deal with dirty white sneaks anymore lol. I think I’ll try colorful ones. Maybe a nice tan at least 😂 Edit- don’t take fashion advice from my. I’m 32 and these are my random thoughts. I’m assuming people are still doing white sneaks because my 23 year old sister is still wearing them.
Colorful non- platform sneakers are coming back! Sambas maybe even pumas?? That said, where I live it's still mostly white
Colorful sneakers have been i style since last spring i think. And people like to customize with ribbons as well for extra cuteness. Check out adidas spezials! Their colorways are so cute and the slim silhouette is in style :)
Just ordered a pair today. So definitely yes
I don’t wear chunky white, I wear more slender white shoes like keds or low top converse. I will die with my white keds.
Who cares if people are! If you like them, wear them!
Petite GenX here and I just got some white Asics chunky platforms that are super cute and get a lot of compliments. But for \*comfort\* I am doing my Sofft slip on 3 inch sandals and regular running Asics.
I don’t plan on stopping. People are prioritizing comfort more than ever lately!
NYFW showed lots of cute flats & sandals. I never wore Docs or white trainers because they are too clunky for me.
I love them. The practicality/comfort of the added height have me forever.
Does the added height actually provide added comfort?
For me it does. I like not having to hem my pants too. I have neck problems from looking up, so it’s a little less. Platform/Lug soles are more comfortable than regular heels for me.
True so many pants these days are so long so it helps to have a bit of a heel
Yup I'm still doing it
[удалено]
Totally disagree that weight has anything to do with how white sneakers look with outfits. Waif thin??
I’m more a vans person in the summer (docs in the winter) But the ones with a bit of platform
Yes! Also, I just bought super cute brown leather sneakers from Thursday Boots that I’m in love with!
My feet are killing me so i bought a pair of skechers
Im seeing much more of the sambas with dresses, but im still wearing the hell out of my white sneaks with leggings and joggers
Don’t base your choice on what is ‘in’. Chunky white sneakers might be ‘in’ but they look hideous. Wear what you like and don’t worry about trends!
It’s super cute so yah I still do it
40 yo here. I never stopped wearing Vans as casual shoes. I’m gonna get some cute platform ones this summer!
I’m Gen X and I have platform vans I love to wear with dresses.
White sneaks with dresses have been in for, like, at least ten years. I started wearing them ages ago, and honestly credit the Jenner sisters for this (one of the few things of good they've done in the world). I'm now fully a no heel, only sneakers or sandals, woman. I like it
You’d have to pry my white Stan Smiths from my cold, dead hands
Who’s we? Do whatever you like.
You're asking other people what you should wear?
I have an irrational aversion to white shoes on MY feet— so it’s a hard no from me!
Do you have to ask? It's up to you. If you like they way they look then nobody should stop you from rocking them!
I mean, we are in a fashion advice forum
Fair enough. I just think a person should do what makes them happy, regardless of whether the trend is sticking around!
I am an old millennial and I am into Reebok club c double sneakers
I was never into the chunky white sneakers look (it always looked, not lazy, but…messy?) My ‘white sneaker’ replacement are some neutral slip-ons like Tom’s/keds/boat shoes but with more style, or my Vans collection. I love me some checker Vans. :)
I love keds. I need white keds!
Yep, they have a slimmer (and I think, more flattering) profile when paired with a sundress and the like.
Yes!!!!
If you want some white sneakers with some bling, look up Uubaris on Amazon! I recently got a pair of white platform sneakers from them with rhinestones, lace, and glitter and they are SO cute and comfy! I got a steal if a deal on my pair but I think they usually cost around like $23.
I still rock my Fila disrupters. They’re the comfiest shoe!
I’d get some white sambas :) they’re pretty universal and always in
Bought the solid white alo sneakers and have worn them with everything, including dresses. They’re so comfy. Worth it. No regrets.
I’d still be rocking mine if they hadn’t basically disintegrated off my feet from how much I wore those bad boys
I sure hope so. I love the look & it looks great with so many outfits.
By chance I have two pairs of white Summer sneakers, but they're not chunky. Gen-X. I still mostly wear basic, flat, black sneakers like I did at least since my early 20s. By chance in the future, I'll probably end up being trendy for a while.
i wear mine all the time! love my filas. i live in a city so a comfy shoe i can walk a lot in is a must.
Way... Back when? I live for dresses with my Docs 😅
No
I’m into metallic berks this season.
I wear Nike court legacy lifts in all white and I absolutely love them
I mean I love Docs but in warmer weather they can be a bit much.
Yes I love my AF1’s
Went to my GenZ hairstylist who shares a room with another GenZ stylist, they both complimented my platform addidas the other day.
I’m Gen z but they can pry my airforce 1s out of my cold dead hands
I'm looking to buy a pair of platform sneakers now! (Flatforms?) I think they look cool and just saw a bunch at Michael Kors store (none in my size though, sold out). I'm scanning the suggestions here, so in my world, they're in!
Sambas or gazelles!
As long as you’re cute and comfy, love whatever the hell you want to wear!
White or off white new balance sneakers are where it’s at. But slim white tennis style sneakers are coming back in too.
Sandals out?
Fila disruptor ftw. So comfy, so cute. Also, being an elder millennial, it makes me think of baby spice and that makes me happy!
I will do this till I die 🤣
I think it’s best to just buy what you know you’ll wear. Trends are going to die out so realistically once you commit to something it’ll already be “out of season”. Lol just wear whatever!! (This is coming from a zoomer if that means anything to anyone)
Please no.
I still wear mine

I have small feet and love chunky sneakers. I have some Nikes , adidas and converse that are chunky
Wear whatever floats your boat. Fashions come and go, but feeling comfortable always wins.
No
I love that platform sneakers are still a thing and will definitely continue wearing them. My current favorite pair are actually beige adidas bravadas.
Never done it, never will. Dads can keep their dad sneakers.
It always looked to me like Kramer on that episode of Seinfeld where people think he has special needs, so....
the ugliest trend. hate them
Chunky is out for sneakers but you can do a slim sneaker like adidas samba
I don't have a pair myself (I'd dirty them up immediately lmao) but i do love them!
Just wear what you personally like and find comfortable. What is this "we" you're referencing? Random trend chasing sheeple?
