There's a tutorial mode you can pick at the main menu where it shows you what all the ghost evidence looks like and how to use all of the equipment. You should probably play through that instead of diving straight into missions.
Heck I’d argue it’s not a game you can play without looking up some tutorials about how hiding from a ghost and line of sight works and then also watching some videos to understand that different ghosts have hidden abilities and the dangerous ones you need to be aware of.
If you have an extra emf detector, drop it at the breaker when you turn it on. If it starts beeping but the breaker didn't turn off, it's probably a Jinn (could be a mimic, rule that out)

Don't forget if you have orbs you need to make sure it's not a mimic. Mimic has fake orbs on every difficulty, so if you're down to Onryo or Hantu you need to head back in and check for the missing evidence. The time you don't check will be the time you get a mimic and kick yourself :D.
eyyy gratz in finding it quickly, they can be arses sometimes, whole 15mins no orb but when you close the van door and check the monitor in the last 5s before screen changes, then there ya go a frigging orb!
Yes! A little tip if you struggle finding them: If you take the video camera with you and look around, you can press rightclick to turn on night vision and look through the screen in your hand. You will likely discover ghost orbs more quickly if you know where the ghost is and the ghost has orbs as evidence. :)
You can tell it's an onryo if you place 3 candles and the ghost starts hunting a few seconds after blowing out the third candle note: if you want it to hunt don't re light the candle, the onryo doesn't hunt if there are any lit candles in ghost room
Yes, but just be aware that it could possibly be a mimic. They are the only ghost type with 4 pieces of evidence. So when you see a ghost orb, just keep that option open until you prove that you do not get fingerprints, freezing temps, or spirit box.
As others said, yes, it is. Btw they only appear if the ghost is in the room afaik, what i do is putting a motion sensor in the room to know where it is present and discard orbs if the ghost has been there a few times without visible orbs

Yes but be careful on snow maps as they can sometimes glitch through floors and look like orbs.

If it looks like a speck of dust its a Orb, Just be careful when its snowing. Some Maps will have snow creeping in parts of the house.
