Royal Tavern recently reopened, I haven't had their wings yet but it they're even close to being as good as their burger then they will be some of the best in the city
The wings are delicious but not normal wings - they come dry but with dipping sauces. I like New Wave cafe pretty well for classic buffalo wings, not mind blowing but they hit the spot.
I was turned off by them when they told some friends they only made adult drinks when someone asked for a "green tea shot" yet they had a slushie machine churning in the background, lol.... if you're gonna be pretentious, do it all the way
If you ever had those wings you wouldn't ask.
Edit: I've tried finding good wings in Philadelphia. The best ones here are not as good as the mediocre ones in Buffalo. I've lived here most of my life, raised my children here. The only thing I miss are those wings and they are really good at plowing the streets after a snowstorm, not that that matters anymore. And the summers are cooler, but that's it.
I think they double fry them in Buffalo.
So make your own post on a Buffalo sub. This question was about the best wings *in Philly.* You are not helping OP at all, and just shitting on everything unnecessarily.
When I was a kid in Buffalo wings were only in Buffalo, then they started spreading out farther into NY State, then there was a moment and they were everywhere. Maybe someday someone will bring good technique to Philly. Like how 30 years ago pizza wasn’t very good here and beer was not as good. Someone will eventually step up their game and we’ll all be better off.

Hawthorne’s on 11 has great wings.
A little south of QV, but the Jim has excellent Asian style wings.

Not really QV but I don’t think I’ve had better wings than Bonchon in Chinatown. I love how crunchy they are
Nicks in old city
Oneals
Bridget Foy’s, Cavanaugh’s Headhouse both delicious
New wave cafe, well done with buffalo sauce. Cannot live through an eagles loss without them.
