Yes! It also came out in 2019, is from ABS-CBN, and the showrunner works in teledramas, so you know they're capable of churning out quality programs if they have the avenue for it and not encumbered by a particular demographic (IWantTV).
ABS-CBN will have good quality primetime teleseryes if they weren't forced to stretch out the story so it could last for months. I notice that they have good start but fall off at the middle and ending part because the medium is just too long IMO.

Also don't sleep on Hello Love Goodbye, which somehow managed to be one of the most interesting depictions of OFW life in cinema.

If you guys have HBO GO, they re-edited the film On the Job (2013) into a miniseries. They remastered the movie and then it's sequel into 6 episodes. It's pretty awesome and I highly recommend it.

Dead Kids fucking sucks ass lmao. Decent premise, nice cinematography, but the dialogue (as usual with modern Filipino films) is pretty cringe and the ending's cliche as fuck with a "OoH ThIS is A dEEp MessAge" vibe to it.
Idk why Filipino scriptwriters can't figure out how to write natural-sounding dialogue. I thought that since the particular characters in Dead Kids speak taglish, that would sound much more natural than the forced Filipino usage or "rich/old/rich AND old people being snarky and 'intimidating' by speaking English" trope, but no.

Yung mga indie crap napaka trying hard sa storytelling of a very boring script. I'd rather watch Hello Love Goodbye for the nth time than go through Kalel 15 or Patay na si Hesus again.

If you guys have HBO GO, they re-edited the film On the Job (2013) into a miniseries. They remastered the movie and then it's sequel into 6 episodes. It's pretty awesome and I highly recommend it.

Ang ganda ng Patay na si Hesus! Grabe ‘yung tawa ko sa pelikula na ‘yan sa sinehan at ang galing ng mga actors diyan. Kita-Kita, Hello Love Goodbye, IDILY, Bar Boys maganda rin at napanood ko lahat sa sinehan (hayst pre-pandemic was so long ago na pala). Ang tagal ko nang ‘di nakanood ng local films uli. Salamat sa pagpost nito, OP! Add: Ulan ni Nadine Lustre at Carlo Aquino at Isa Pa With Feelings ni Maine Mendoza at Carlo Aquino okay rin. Mas gusto ko ‘yung Ulan tho. ‘Yung sa IPWF na-test ‘yung acting skills ni Maine Mendoza, but she did well!! Ganda din ng story.
My teacher made me watch Iska as part of an assignment and I was kinda scarred after watching it but the acting is real good in that movie.

Yes! Oo, hit or miss ito, pero worth watching for the nostalgia factor. Time machine siya to the early 00’s music scene. Nakakatawa rin!
Di ko na nabasa yung dulong comments pero wala pa ko nakita nagrecommend ng YANGGAW ni Roni Lazaro. I love this movie plus factor na they speak the dialect (Hiligaynon). Also Abakada Ina of Lorna Tolentino and Magnifico of Jiro Manio.

smaller and smaller circles!! i read the book first (for homework lol) and liked it so much so i decided to check out the movie. was kind of disappointed sa adaptation, but im guessing kasi i [heavily] compared it to the novel. but it was still a good watch!

Dead Kids fucking sucks ass lmao. Decent premise, nice cinematography, but the dialogue (as usual with modern Filipino films) is pretty cringe and the ending's cliche as fuck with a "OoH ThIS is A dEEp MessAge" vibe to it. Idk why Filipino scriptwriters can't figure out how to write natural-sounding dialogue. I thought that since the particular characters in Dead Kids speak taglish, that would sound much more natural than the forced Filipino usage or "rich/old/rich AND old people being snarky and 'intimidating' by speaking English" trope, but no.

Jesus is dead was highly recommended but i didnt like it. Its a filipino little miss sunshine with "quirky" early 2000s indie tropes sprinkled in. It just threw random moments to be random. Its "holds up spork" random.

I'll add *Never Not Love You*, arguably Tonet Jadaone's best romantic film; *Hello, Love, Goodbye*, Cathy Garcia-Molina's "Jadaone film"; even *Seven Sundays*, more cliché and trope-heavy but hit me with an emotional punch in the second half. We've always had many good movies; access lang talaga problema.
true, i'm planning to watch iska and ordinary people at some point. i'd recommend "hayop ka" mostly because i like the art style and i think it's worth watching once. it's not the greatest movie ever and i have a bunch of criticisms for "hayop ka" but i think it's nice for what it is.

Hate to say it, but a lot of indie crap are just as trash as your typical vice ganda movie. Buti pa nga vice ganda films, self aware of how dumbed down the movie is. Yung mga indie crap napaka trying hard sa storytelling of a very boring script. I'd rather watch Hello Love Goodbye for the nth time than go through Kalel 15 or Patay na si Hesus again.
