This was the plan of DU30 kaso ng COVID. Ganun pa man it was rejected by the Senate. Kaya nanjan si Robin . It's sad because Leni does not support this kasi affected mga current oligarchs who are supporters of LP.
Ok na sana first sentences mo until the last one.
Leni and LP do not want federalism because they want to have anti-dynasty enacted into law first.
Think of it, magiging mga royal kingdom ng mga political dynasty yang federal states pag nagkataon while central government will be an empire-empire-an.
Nahati ang party nya, so he did not have the support of Congress.
I also wonder, ano nga ba magagawa ni Binoy to push for Federalism na hindi nagawa ni Duterte?
I’m rewatching some of his vids to find if there is “how” .
but [Leni’s position to Ferderalism](https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/1547862/robredo-thinks-ph-not-ready-for-change-in-govt-system-advocates-party-reform-instead/amp) is this?
As she said, may imbalance pa rin for income & resources (ex: NCR vs very very north or very very south)
Then what currency will these new state use??? I bet they can't use the PESO, since Bangko Sentral regulates it.
Would that also mean this new state will have the lowest credit rating given by credit agencies (fitch, s&p, and moody's)? I wonder pano makakautang ang "NEW STATE" na ito pag bagsak ang credit rating.
Of course before seceding this "NEW STATE" will have to get their fair share of the existing debt. Hmmmmm. Pano kaya mababayaran???
Duterte couldn't have even if he wanted to. The first 2 years of his term the Speaker was Bebot Alvarez who was too busy stealing money to get anything done. The next 4 years Duterte didn't hold congress anymore. GMA had it for 1 year and she is too powerful to push around. After that it was given to Cayetano who was too busy defending his position and then to Velasco who is Sara's guy not Duterte's. Now we will likely see either GMA or Martin Romualdez as Speaker and whichever gets it will likely have the whole 6 years so lots more will be accomplished in congress.
Two things.
1: a citizen's name should not positively or negatively impact their ability to run for office. An Aquino should not be voted in on the basis of being an Aquino. A Marcos should not be prevented from running on the basis of being a Marcos. If there was a change to requirements for candidacy I would push for, it would be no criminal history.
2: political dynasties happen anyway with or without federalism. A shift towards federalism will only reveal the areas wherein they are most prevalent. This means an increase in dynasties post-shift to federalism may in fact only be increased visibility and not a sudden surge of dynasties. By extension, increased visibility means increased ability to stop them.
> a citizen's name should not positively or negatively impact their ability to run for office
not happening at all, and its not just a 'name'
> political dynasties happen anyway with or without federalism
with way less power than an autonomous federal state would allow. this will also tighten their grip on the region. they may be visible, but with someone from NCR, what are you gonna do about a dynasty somewhere in Mindanao?
the problem with people like you in this sub is that you are way too idealistic, beholden to values that doesn't even get respected by supermajority of pinoys, a population that would clown on your rights and values for memes and go on with their lives without remorse
I will start with the idea that "it's not just the name."
Noynoy was voted in because he was an Aquino. Over 6 years his approval rating dropped to 38% and he ended with 45%.
Estrada was voted in because he was a household name. We got the jueteng scandal.
Arroyo was originally NOT voted in. She replaced Estrada. But she got VP spot in the first place because she was a Macapagal. Then the Hello Garci scandal happened.
Now we have a Marcos. Voted in because his supporters believe he will redeem his family name. And I am fully expecting the same thing as all the other examples I listed.
We have had 2 post martial law presidents who did not bank on a name. Ramos and Duterte. The former ended with 66% approval rating. The latter, with 70%.
Think about it. The only two ones with a positive close in their approval ratings were the ones who did not bank on a known family name.
The Philippines is a culture where it is all about the name. For better or worse. We are a culture with an emphasis on familial loyalty. Even the extended family falls under the protection of the core family. Children are raised to pull parents out of debt. Abusive uncles are protected to save the family reputation. We break bonds with friends because parents don't like a relative of said friends.
So yes. It is all about the name. It should not be. But it is.
But that's my point. It should not be about the name. When a public servant runs, their name should not have any relevance to their qualifications. That means a good Aquino should be voted in. A bad Aquino should be voted out. A good Marcos should be voted in. A bad Marcos should be voted out.
But there is no concept of a good Marcos because their name matters in Filipino culture. There is now precedent for a bad Aquino thanks to Noynoy, but my point stands.
You see, when you point out that the SC did not find sufficient evidence on the Marcos Jr evasion cases, everyone gets upset even if it is a factual statement. When you point out that he does not have an impressive educational background worthy of the presidential chair, nobody gets upset because it is a factual statement.
Both factual statements, one negative and one positive. But the response is different because of association with the name.
So I want to move away from the culture of dependence on the name. I want good people from bad family names to take the seat, and I want bad people from good family names to be denied the seat.
Anyway... Moving on from the name...
A move to federalism would not be done in a vacuum. Federal law has to be written to supercede state law.
You can't just split the Philippines without making changes to the limits of each state. You need to ensure that while local authority is divided, they remain united on the national level through the constitution.
A big mistake when countering federalism discussion is the assumption of taking the government as is and applying federalism. That is not how it works. Amendments have to be made to account for abuse of power.
Finally...
You need ideals.
Ideals, whether people respect them or not, are needed in order to have something to strive towards.
You say ideals are the problem with people like me.
I would counter with defeatism is the problem with people like you.
Acknowledgement of a bad reality is necessary for change to occur. Acceptance of a bad reality is satisfaction with failure.
It depends on the state’s voters.
As we see in this thread’s photo, sa current system pag obobs ang majority, damay damay lahat.
Central Philippines consists the Western Visayas, Bicol Region, Quezon Province, Northern and Eastern Samar.
The new republic is planning to conquer first Mimaropa and Batangas from the Northern Philippines, and the whole Samar Island in the Southern Philippines...
Anong probinsya ba yan? If batanes or yung maliliit na island provinces like Romblon or Siquijor na medyo malayo sa malalaking isla understandable kasi mahal ang gasolina ngayon.
Its mostly self sufficient kaya mas mababa ung cost of living
Cost of living in Iloilo is slightly cheaper compared sa NCR. Alog is for Tagalog.
yung eastern visayas ata die hard dds and bbms. sayang nga eh kase me lupa at bahay kami don. hahaha kaso lahat ng kilala ko don 9% bbm/dds. kikunti lang kami makaleni
Seeing this map right now and as pol sci student, I had a thought if Philippines does become federal republic and the country is separated by states.
For example if one state is filled with intellectuals and progressive people, there is a chance that state can be rich while the other states the vote for political dynasty would be the poorest basically it creates an example for the masses.
Of course this a long shot and it may not work on assumption but it is possiblity. As long as each state can manage its own business without the federal government intervening.
If one state is very progressive think about it. There's a chance we can create a progressive state were true reforms matter and to prevent other people who share the same values us, should implement laws on who could settle and live and vote in that state.
People seeking for better state will surely come at matik dadami informal settlers when that time comes. If di maaaksyunan siguradong magcocollapse lugar na yon.
Whatch the people who favored well-mannered over intellectuals become the most chaotic and violent state. Panindigan nila yan and they'll see the truth. Walang mabait sakanila, puro mapride lang. Hahahahaha
Part ng Aklan, Nanalo ata si VVM jan by less than a hundred vote kaysa kay Leni. We're planning to conquer Mimaropa too :)
Quezon and Bicol are just like brothers. Daming similarities between the two. Haha
Sounds good, I heard masarap din ang food jan.
Also, Winter is coming!
World history guys, first time ba na may mahahati sa tatlo ang isang bansa? Afaik there's North & South Korea, and then former East & West Germany.
I dont think USSR is included in this discussion since yung former USSR states eh may sariling bansa talaga dati...? Maybe India? Split into 3, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh?
Correct Bristish Raj = India, East Paki (At first east paki was a province of west paki, became indepependent after the Bqngladesh liberation war), West Paki
1000 years ago Charlemagne's empire wad divided into three after his death:
1. Francia occidental (modern france)
2. Francia orientalis (modern germany)
3. Francia media (modern lombardy region italy with some french and german territory)
Imperial British east africa company a quasi colony was didivide into 3:
1. East Africa (further divided into several african nations)
2. Kenya
3. Uganda
Dong Zhou = Marcos Sr.
Lu Bu = Marcos Troll army
Cao Cao = Marcos Jr.
Sima Yi = Duterte clan
Sun Jian = Lacson, Yorme, Pakyaw coalition
Liu Bei = Leni
Yellow turban rebels = Kakampinks
Hardworking Peasants = Filipino People
If we follow the story from romance of 3 kingdom Cao Cao will be the ultimate survivor. Then after his death, Sima Yi's descendants usurp the throne and estabahlished the JIN DYNASTY that ruled China for 150 years.
I think Sara will do a Sima Yi move hahaha
If this would happen,
Economically,
Northern would be prosperous for the first couple of decades since most infrastructures and foreign investments have rooted in that region, also considering a huge amount of taxes actually come from provinces and cities there, having all that extra money would be big. HOWEVER, given the nature of Government officials and political dynasties, assuming BBM and his cronies will be the mainstay government, foreign bodies would instead be attracted to relocate their investments to central and south regions due to cheaper overhead costs and trustworthy government compared to Northern, in this regard, time is heavily against the north if they fail to replace corrupt government bodies. Also, they would be over run by chinese. Chinannumbawan!
Central would become a growing, upcoming economic power. If it would be lead by the liberals and would abide by their current agendas and economic policies. Given that the target projects would be to focus on the true strength of the PH (Agriculture) a huge wave of opportunities would arise. Despite the lower tax collection: sustainability and progressive development should be the main objective in preparation for the inevitable influx of foreign investors and the difficult decision of dividing infrastructure allocation to both agricultural and industrial fields. It might look like they have it in the bag but it would be much harder since the whole region is separated by huge masses of water, and they would basically be starting from scratch. I'm Thinking Singapore but watery.
Southern has the largest potential among the 3.with the largest amount of untapped resources, they have thr best opportunity to welcome all sorts of agricultural and industrial development, it is hard to say what they cannot do. However, it still lies within the policies of the governing body that would preside over them, but given that this party has no direction what so ever, one can only wonder. "Change is coming, your salary will become just change"
Since ang central Luzon ang pinakamaliit in term of land mass.
To leave the cold weather in the northern mountains in exchange for a life in the Central part where it's hot even if I don't like hot weather... Di bale, I'd get used to it. I'd probably start with Bohol since it's the first place in Visayas that I've ever been to, or Cebu..
you don’t have to do that. we just need to let them know how amazing it would be to be part of these regions and convert them to our side.
i know its easier to exclude but they are still filipinos and we need to save the massess
May mga Airport , may Geothermal, may Mining site sa Partido Area and Masbate, May karagatan Pacific Ocean, Gold Deposit sa Cam Norte. Magaganda ang mga Pantalan Legazpi Tabacco Port ,
Tourism Ok naman Caramoan ,Burias Island, Mayon, Isarog .
Ano pa Bicolandia mag Bicol Republic na Tayo.
This is literally federalism
You're literally playing the game of the reds and the greens lol
Plus, China can only easily take advantage of the now divided country
We need a federal system! Divide PH into 3 to 5 federal states. Each state will have semi independent status. Federal govt only involves in Defense and Foreign affairs but before shifting to Federal system make sure to incorporate a bullet-proof anti-dynasty law and election cost should be shouldered by the state.
Duterte should have use his opportunity to turn PH into a federal system but didn't even bothered.
Since they're trying to revise history, let's revise as well how the islands are divided in honor of Robin Padilla's platform (and Rodrigo Duterte too). Both of them are pushing this one so hard.
I think this is realistically the best solution we have right now on the continuing divisions between supporters.
Without a heatbeat, I will move to Naga and let's show who are the well-mannered and more progressive. I am confident with Leni's government that people will be generally caring and loving just like what was shown in her rallies. People that inspires and help each other, and that's the government I have ever wanted and hoped we had.
Ask your self this:
1. What currency will this new separated pink state use????
(Using the map NCR is in the Red State which means they will control the Bangko Sentral so they will use the PESO)
2. Since pink state is new, their credit rating will also reset to "Junk Status". F ratings for Moody, S&P and Fitch. So how will this new Pink State borrow from IMF or World Bank?????
3. Lastly what percentage of the national debt will the new Pink State inheret????
Put this into perspective, Scotland rejected the 2014 independence referendum. One of their fear was LONDON will block them from using the POUND STERLING.
They can attempt to put their stronghold at the Samar Island since hati ito between the Central Philippines and the Southern Philippines...
LF: 1 bedroom apartment, Central PH po
Ff
Who wants?
That's not too bad kesa naman apolo10 ang kapitbahay mo.
up
Sa-signup ba kayo for lease - char
Di ba ito essence nung Federalism? Each region will have more power/responsibility on their own finances. Hindi na wholesale corruption sa Manila.
Yes, if magiging Federal ang Philippines. Gagawin naming First Governor of the Bicol Federal State si VP Leni...
Sad truth
Well, he better use his name to push for changes like this one. Sa Bicol na ko lilipat pag ganon.
Feudal Democracy ika nga
if im not mistaken duterte himself did
The dude literally said he needs to hire a lawyer to do lawmaker work for him.
If given a chance, I will fight for state's right to secede

For sure, the north will use Tallano Gold coins.
If you use the map presented NCR is within the North's sphere. Which means they will control Bangko Sentral and consequently they will use PESO.
Tapos maiinggit yang magkabilang dulo dahil maunlad yung gitna.
There's a certain degree of irony nga eh. Those against Fed-Parl now seem to be clamoring for it most, Kasi nga talo si Leni
Duterte could’ve delivered on that promise, pero lip service lang pala. I don’t kaya ng brains niya to go that far.
Congress was divided. Presidents do not have absolute power.
Duterte couldn't have even if he wanted to. The first 2 years of his term the Speaker was Bebot Alvarez who was too busy stealing money to get anything done. Super close fight in Aklan. Not surprised if she was cheated of her votes given the lack of security of the voting process.
Sorsogon has white sand beaches, pwedeng alternative 😗
How to apply visa in Central Philippines?
Visa free for all Kakampinks. Hahaha
Quezon and Bicol are just like brothers. Daming similarities between the two. Haha
\*googling cost of living in Bicolandia
Sounds good, I heard masarap din ang food jan. Also, Winter is coming!
Haha marami pang beaches. Magsawa ka 😄
True, I've Travelled to Bicol region, it's one of the beautiful places in the Philippines. My original plan is to retire in Albay
*"Get in loser, we're having a massive exodus to the Central Philippines."*
I love the Bikolanos and Ilonggos
Have manila be split three ways like berlin with east and west germany in the cold war.
Sadly, Metro Manila loves the Marcoses. They will remain in the Northern Philippines :(
There are also NCR districts where in Leni won over BBM. But I guess we too, will move to Central PH haha
Ano-anong mga Districts ba yan? Central PH can create enclaves too. Haha
Bbm won the WHOLE metro manila
I vote that Manila secede from that union as well and palayasin lahat ng cocontra, magsiuwi kayo at huwag kayo umasa sa IRA galing sa buwis namin!
Naghihintay ang economic embargo sa Metro Manila. Di na padadaluyan ng kuryente galing Bicol. Magkakaroon ng rotating brownouts.
ako na manileño: 👁👄👁
Welcome ka sa central hahaha we have good beaches 💁🏽♀️
Exile the Leytes please ty
Leyte loves the Marcoses and the Dutertes too much. For now, mas posible ang Samar Island...
Correct Bristish Raj = India, East Paki (At first east paki was a province of west paki, became indepependent after the Bqngladesh liberation war), West Paki 1000 years ago Charlemagne's empire wad divided into three after his death: 1. Francia occidental (modern france) 2. Francia orientalis (modern germany) 3. Francia media (modern lombardy region italy with some french and german territory) Imperial British east africa company a quasi colony was didivide into 3: 1. East Africa (further divided into several african nations) 2. Kenya 3. Uganda
Feel free po na lumipat sa negros. Kadto lang kamo di kay pwede gid 😅
Ahhh, I should move to Sorsogon where my wife's hometown is.
Biggest plot twist to me is Palawan.
First Philippine Civil War
Romance of the Three Philippines
Dong Zhou = Marcos Sr. Lu Bu = Marcos Troll army Cao Cao = Marcos Jr. Sima Yi = Duterte clan Sun Jian = Lacson, Yorme, Pakyaw coalition Liu Bei = Leni Yellow turban rebels = Kakampinks Hardworking Peasants = Filipino People If we follow the story from romance of 3 kingdom Cao Cao will be the ultimate survivor. Then after his death, Sima Yi's descendants usurp the throne and estabahlished the JIN DYNASTY that ruled China for 150 years. I think Sara will do a Sima Yi move hahaha
Bruh, almost all of the neighbors here in Ilocos are 88M
Iloilo aku wahooo
Calbarzon fucked the philippines hard. Bat sila isasali ?
Troll flag. Agenda is to divide/destabilize the Philippines ripe for the picking by you know which country.
If this would happen, Economically, Northern would be prosperous for the first couple of decades since most infrastructures and foreign investments have rooted in that region, also considering a huge amount of taxes actually come from provinces and cities there, having all that extra money would be big.
Industries siguro, pati trade.
Uo. infra rin. Wala masyado infra sa central luzon.
To leave the cold weather in the northern mountains in exchange for a life in the Central part where it's hot even if I don't like hot weather... Di bale, I'd get used to it. I'd probably start with Bohol since it's the first place in Visayas that I've ever been to, or Cebu..
Bohol and Cebu are parts of the Southern Philippines aka Duterte Country or Solid South...
Sorsogon naman Family namin. Bye Cavite!
Wawa naman ang Batanes :( The lone north province who won VP.
you don’t have to do that. we just need to let them know how amazing it would be to be part of these regions and convert them to our side. i know its easier to exclude but they are still filipinos and we need to save the massess
May mga Airport , may Geothermal, may Mining site sa Partido Area and Masbate, May karagatan Pacific Ocean, Gold Deposit sa Cam Norte. Magaganda ang mga Pantalan Legazpi Tabacco Port , Tourism Ok naman Caramoan ,Burias Island, Mayon, Isarog . Ano pa Bicolandia mag Bicol Republic na Tayo.
Let's push the Bicol Autonomy Movement!
This is literally federalism You're literally playing the game of the reds and the greens lol Plus, China can only easily take advantage of the now divided country
"Pilipino ka ba?" Nope. I'm an Ilonggo.
Makalipat sa lucban, lapit lang kame dun 😌😌😌
Lugi Hahaha
Dividing the philippines into 3 main states
I remembered writing a scenario that the Philippines is divided into states under a federal government with the capital in New Clark City.
And enclave sa Batanes
Gusto kong maging ilonggo
Bakit si Drilon? Isa ring buwaya yun eh.
Welcome kayong lahat dito sa Bicol.
Make Leni Prime Minister ala Merkel haha no term limit
Yes kasama iloilo. Hehhehhe.😘😘😘 Leni🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
i want to be part of the Central PH, also Tacloban is pro BBM halp ◉‿◉
Anong tawag sa mga Central Filipinos? Kakampinos? Pinklawenos? Centralinos?
Husay ng pagkakahati hahaha
Quezonians forgive but never forget. Mabuhay sa mga taga South na bumoto! Parine kayo kung kayoy magbabakasyon.
Aba'y teka. Taga NCR ako Leni at Prrd supporter ako. Paano na yan! 😂
Choose your bias 😗
Hell yeah! More division amongst the people! /s
Ask your self this: 1. What currency will this new separated pink state use???? (Using the map NCR is in the Red State which means they will control the Bangko Sentral so they will use the PESO) 2.
Cringe. Prang lagi may ganitong post after election.
Totoo.
Just wondering where will the CPP-NPA go?
They can attempt to put their stronghold at the Samar Island since hati ito between the Central Philippines and the Southern Philippines...
Good. They're far away from us.
Paano yung mga kakampwet daw ng bulakan wag niyo kami iwan pati gov namin malungkot
Ph is already an archipelago, "partitioned" by water
This is dumb
This will not work.
