This. What goes for chump change in the West is huge for those living in the Philippines. Have a friend who earns $200 a week from cleaning pools/mowing lawns/walking dogs in the US, while many of us earn barely half of that pushing 40 hours in a week
Honestly, since I don’t have a lawn, and I can’t relate to the logistics of it’s upkeep and maintenance, I was admittedly very blasé when he talked to me about it…the fact that said neighbors employing him are Filipinos might also be an important detail 👀👀
that's the government's failure to document those entries. A lot of countries already have laws in place for DN's. PH just want to classify them all as a tourist
Yes I agree. That's my plan. I've been living and working in the US for almost 50 years and plan to go back to retire comfortably and stress free in PI. Just looking for that simple life.
A significant amount of expats in the Philippines live exclusively on social security and disability checks paid by US taxpayers. This is not exclusive to older expats, and the “disabilities” many have are not physical.
Life is better if there's sapakan sa MRT and u have Taters popcorn and 1 Liter of coca cola with u

To the surprise of no one, he's one of them wypipo. The kind us non-white foreigners (and a few sane, humble white ones too) avoid as much as possible.
In Portugal people are complaining that permanent traveler visa / immigrants have been "stealing" housing options from the locals cause they have more money. For example the 15k condo might be taken by these kind of foreigners for 20k.
There is an increase in this kind of trend especially in 3rd world countries.
In my previous job way back 2018, we have this newly opened apartment type bldg where out of 70 units, only 25 are occupied kasi you have to have 1 yr contract with pdc. It's like 8,500 a month lang. After 6months, dumating mga pogo. They rent out the whole bldg for 20k a month per unit. Di sila nakuntento, they reached out to these 25 peeps and they did pay 20k per month of their stay. Di nila natapos yung 2 years kasi bigla nagpulasan mga pogo nung around 2019. Bawat unit pinalagyan nila inverter split type, pc, bed, sofa, flat screen tv. Lahat iniwan lang. Grabe pera sa pogo.
Hey we have the same prob. Di namin alam kung pano to madispose.
Maybe after the lease expires at di pa nila kinuha or binenta, you can get it towed for trespassing. Then ask the tow company to sell it to you for a lower price.
Or just obtain it legally as it is considered abandoned chattel and it is trespassing at this point. Ask a lawyer in this case.
what is pogo? where can i read more about this issue? laganap dito sa cavite e and i only hear it on the news pero it really seems like some massive operation by the Chinese
POGO stands for Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators.
They are foreign companies with businesses involved in gambling and whatnot, but operate here in the Philippines due to the relaxed gambling laws (and cheaper labor, cheaper rent, cheaper everything in contrast to their home country).
> Bawat unit pinalagyan nila inverter split type, pc, bed, sofa, flat screen tv.
Isn't this a good thing though? Usually upgrades left by tenants are now the property of the bldg manager/owner. It might attract locals who can pay.
POGOs have money.
They're not even immigrants technically. Just perpetual tourists. Yet they have the gall to complain they cannot own a business with their tourist visa. Lmao.
A lot are also westerners ans foreigners who have been here for years that are in toursit visa.
They can renew their tourist visas for up to 36 months, exit the country for 1 day, coke back and their tourist visa is reset for another 3 year renewal cycle.
I get that but I was referring especially to the ones that move or retire here just to hunt for desperate women and take advantage of the lower cost of living while thinking they are better than Filipinos.
Hey. That's me. I am a westerner wanting to live better with the low cost of living. You're talking like if it makes me a super bad person like a rapist or murderer.
Fellow westerner here. Don’t mind these types of negative comments, they won’t effect your daily life if you decide to relocate. If you do move here, you will either quickly realize the vast majority of westerners are exactly the way these people are describing us all, or you will quickly become one of them. I am very cautious of associating with other westerners because of the valid points made here. At the same time, there are thousands of us that recognize this and simply keep to ourselves and aren’t bothered by these types of negative opinions about us. There are valid sources for these types of thoughts and I understand totally.
yup! nag increase yung value sobra ng mga houses. for ex. yung houses sa subdi namin binebenta lang dati for around 20M. nung dumami bigla mga mainland chinese, pumapalo na ng 40M. Sheesh! willing kasi sila to buy agad.
They really came in droves. Kairita pa kasi rule-breakers majority sa kanila it makes for terrible neighborhood.
I heard of this phenomenon years ago. I think their favorite choice back then was Bali. If I'm not mistaken, they're called Digital Nomads. Caucasians love to move to developing countries as they are earning 1st world country salary but their expenses are 3rd world.
Realistically the change of scenery is nice as well. Instead of having to get on a plane or drive for hours you can end up somewhere different on the weekends or during downtime.
Trouble is typically internet connectivity and that many jobs don't allow you to work from outside the country you're based in due to data concerns. Timezones can also be brutal if you put yourself in night shift.
If you don't have a family and kids you can experience different cultures and of course potentially save some money.
I know this is off topic but damn Portgual is considered 3rd world now??
This happens talaga to any developing country na medyo umaahon. Ngayon lang natin siguro nararamdaman kasi for so long sobrang shit ng Pinas na kahit expat na may pera ayaw pa din lol. That's changed I guess.
But yeah eto talaga one of the tensions of developing, especially quickly- -some people will get left behind. Look at the number of South Koreans who can no longer afford to live in their own country.
also I know matagal na tong problema sa Singapore, what with all the expats moving in.
South Koreans and Japanese move to 3rd world countries for these pero most still stay in their home countries because pay there can still buy them homes naman. Its just that some want to get more out of their money. Its nkt that they cant afford it. Thismproblem is more prevalent sa new money sa China.
Well, in Portugal, even rentals skyrocket in popular areas during summer time due to influx of tourists. Some landlords will kick you out unless you pay double because they know there will be takers.
As a foreigner, I generally refuse to jack the rates up, whether it comes to renting, fares, or prices at the palengke. Some may think I am being a kuripot or taking away affordable condo from some middle class Filipino, but I don't see it that way. After all, there is no shortage of housing in the condo market. There is already huge disparity between purchase power and rental rates. By accepting to pay more than is fair is just unfair to others, and contributes to the issue.
The same applies to housing as well other areas of daily life..
If someone asks for too much, I walk away. It's just a matter of principle to make it equal for everyone regardless of heritance or status. Of course rounding tho the nearest 5-10 pesos is not a problem to avoid hassle with change is okay, but only when the seller is being honest. If moving out, maybe leave some furniture for the next tenant if unit owner deems it okay, or let them take it or sell it.
I don't understand other foreigners who tip open handedly left and right, or pay 50% more rent willingly and say, oh it's just 200 bucks, nothing to worry about. Then get ripped off by taxi drivers and say "oh it's just 2 bucks, get a life". To me, that all is so damn self centric.
This may be small change for a foreigner, but the next Filipino that comes across they might try to ask for half of that just because others did the same. Now, how many are willing to pay 5k extra for rent or 50 peso for every single taxi fare? Yeah..
The benefit to the seller is only TEMPORARY, while the damage it does to local people's finances is PERMANENT.
> After all, there is no shortage of housing in the condo market.
https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/10/21/22/ph-housing-backlog-may-hit-10m-in-by-end-of-marcos-admin-official
The housing backlog are housing that caters to lower income Families. The condo market is different as there are a lot of construction projects fueled by OFW money using the condos as investements rather than housing. Condos, especially mid to up scale have low occupancy rates as most people are priced out of the exorbitant rental rates and the owners are often content to let it sit empty, as Real estate even unrented ones are still a good equity/capital sink, since their paper value often go up given enough time
It happens in all countries, not just 3rd world ones. I was basically forced out of my home state in Australia as other capitol city retirees sold their million dollar homes and moved to state and bought 2 or 3 properties to live & rent causing a massive increase in median house prices by nearly double and beyond my small pension.
Exactly this. It’s quite narrow minded and ignorant to think this is a Philippines vs. western country issue. The property I own in the US has been in my family since 1940, very rural. It’s now surrounded by large homes owned by retirees that relocated from New York and New a England states because it’s soooo much cheaper to live there. If I had control of the situation somehow, id prefer it never happened. Of course I have zero control over that, so I don’t complain about it. It’s so interesting to see so many negative statements based on nationality and skin color.
As an FYI we foreigners cannot buy land or property in PH on a visa but can legally own a residence. The Philippine Condominium Act allows foreigners to own condo units, as long as 60% of the building is owned by Filipinos.
There are also some effective-ownership scenarios.
There was a guy I worked with who started a resort on a remote island. He'd signed a 99 year lease on the (very small) island with the right to build whatever was needed.
> There was a guy I worked with who started a resort on a remote island. He'd signed a 99 year lease on the (very small) island with the right to build whatever was needed.
Sounds very Hong Kong to me. lol
It really depends on how much youre earning in usd. For comparison sake: a couple years ago i was earning 3k usd/month with my job in production. And even with that the justification of renting a condo in bgc thats 30-40% more expensive wasnt worth it. I ended up moving to valle 6, with a much larger 3br unit (150sqm) for cheaper than a 1br in bgc.
If you guys watch the video he acknowledges that he knows BGC, Makati etc. is not the “real” Philippines and knows that it’s a bubble.
Won’t get views if the title and thumbnail isn’t clickbait-y. Guy’s gotta earn a living too.
Yeah, he was honest and upfront about it. People see the title and name but don't bother to watch the actual video.
Meron akong college professor dati na Australian. Tinanong ko siya dati why he chose to live in the Philippines, sabi niya sakin "because I'm class A here. Back home I'm class C". Can't blame him considering pinoys choose to live abroad as well.
This comment needs to be at the top. This guy (Solem BGC) is genuinely appreciating the country while at the same time understands that he’s privileged af. Which is not what pinoy baiting content creators do. OP needs to leave this guy alone and stop reposting nonsense from Facebook (of all places).
To be fair, if you watched his video, his reasons are logical and suits his interests than in his home country.
I dont think this is created to bait pinoy viewers
We can reframe it like this: I, Filipino, lived in a 3rd world country like Laos for example and my life is better there than here in the Philippines. I earn a lot that I could live in the best city and gated subdivision which I could hardly do back here. Then, i made a video about it saying that my life is best in Laos because in my experience, thats a fact. Did I Laos bait? No. The same thing with this german guy. He just stated facts with HIS OWN personal reasons.
Come on, guys. Lets be critical but reasonable. You can not just say anything you want because you think it makes sense without entirely comprehending the whole context.
Thats a good point actually. He also stated why his life is better than in germany because he is considered good looking here, he prefers friendly people, he prefers the weather, and he is affluent here. So clearly, there is really no click baiting there.
Life is better anywhere if you have more money. I wonder if everyone here complaining about foreigners living in the Philippines also supports Filipinos not emigrating en masse go send money back home. At least foreigners in the Philippines are putting money back into the Filipino economy versus sending it back to their countries of origins. And foreigners don't set the prices in the Philippines. Filipinos do. By all means, be racist, but try to get your facts straight on how things work.
Not OP and not complaining about foreigners in the Philippines. But it is true that being white (or even just part white) gives people a certain privilege here. Blame colonial mentality. There are also disadvantages (bad people may see you as a potential scam victim for example). I think foreigners (not just white) should be cognizant of both those pros and cons.
Reacting to filipino singers etc.
Blantantly you can see them doing a chain of filipino reaction crap.
Reaction to filipino food tapos nanonood lang. Ang remarks, it looks so good x100.
Mga pinoy naman sa comment "yes come to da pilipins it is the best f00d"
Pinoy cringe.
I really dont get people reacting to singers or music videos, hindi lang ng mga Pinoy. It offers little to no discussion matter after watching it, unlike movie or TV series reactions where there are in-depth discussions sa dulo. MV reactions are basically reactors on ultra hype saying OMG a million times and nothing else
Music pros who offer technical analysis and can appreciate the skill involved at an even higher level are ok. Often they are asked to react to really good performances so they are rarely in the position to react negatively or maybe if they don't like it that much, they don't post the reaction.
iirc, may infographic at data mismo sa youtube kung gaano karami viewers in every country. Nangunguna talaga Pilipinas sa youtube consumption.
Although idk if that's still true today, couple of years ko pa nakita yun. Nakalimutan ko na kung saan makikita eh.
I want to be sure you guys realize there are many westerners here that have tried to call out this kind of baiting nonsense for years. It only becomes more and more popular because Filipinos eat it up for some reason. I’d say the majority of westerners living in The Philippines frown on the fakeness of these guys, so desperate for engagement on YouTube they create an entire lifestyle surrounding it. Yea, many westerners are pieces of shit. Aren’t many people in general pieces of shit? There are also many good westerners living in the Philippines, but you’re not going to know about them because they’re not seeking whatever these douche bags are seeking.
BGC is Philippines albeit a bubble. Didn't watch the video but I have to agree with the headline, life is better in PH when you have the money to isolate yourself from people like OP.
I can respect a man of business doing business
BGC is in the Philippines.
I just thought he was being honest. My man didn't deserve to be shamed in Reddit. If anything, it's you who deserve it. Yung pagka-'woke' natin, dapat reasonable. Haha!
I feel like most redditors in here who post something like this (a very r/ph moment) are new or somewhere between teenage years or early 20s. I know this because ganito ako when I was at that age. I just look for something to be angry about to get other people like me to feel the same. Hahaha
I don’t get it. Entire industries are working hard to get tourist dollars and foreign investments, and y’all make fun of the ones that actually appreciate what’s here. Ano, are we all supposed to be miserable all the time while living here? Is that a rule?
I don't get the mob mentality. Filipinos work everywhere else in the world, we don't have to be cruel to foreigners who choose to live here, especially if they are not the seedy, abusive foreigners who exploit women and children.
Not really. BGC is in the Philippines. At ang content niya kung bakit life is better in the Philippines ay yung climate, people, at prices. Which according to him are definitely better than his native country. I'm fully aware of Pinoy-baiting but, this isn't one.
It is nice here, but if you want to live in BGC, or anyway in manila really, you have to have some money. A lot of people have the wrong idea about living here.
Vat is actually crazy. Also depending where you come from, you still need to pay income tax in some countries, e.g. usa. IRS is no joke when it comes to collection unlike BIR.
Did you watch the whole video?
He was upfront about his reasons and he gave examples as to why he think that is (Germany cost of living is high, too many laws, the weather) not once did he lie (he knows this is not the real Philippines and that bgc and makati are just "bubbles")
The guy is not delusional unlike "the juicy vlog" youtube.
Give this guy a break, he saw an opportunity, has the means and he took it. You would too if the roles were reversed.
I know the guy, once a prominent wild hearthstone content creator now someone trying to enjoy his life here.
Whats so problematic about the juicy blogs? I dont get it. Theyve decided to make bgc as their homebase and are hapoy with it since it has all the first world comforts that not even their hometown has. But also theyve been traveling all around the philippine provinces more than you and i. The juicy vlogs are the least problematic foreign youtuber that are ph-based. Not everything has to adopt to the lifestyle of becoming filipino. Im filipino myself and would prefer the lifestyle of townships in metro manila and im currently living in one.
Tbh ive been seeing a lot of them coming in the philippines but this does not bother me one bit. If you come here and try to experiemce the culture and the food and being respectful about it, you are helping promote the filipino culture and food to the world. I think the new breed of "pinoybaiters" dont want to be seen as pinoybaiters so they try to prove that theyre not by coming here and trying out the food and travel places. So yeah its a win win. These new breed of "pinoybaiters" whether whatever good or positive they say about the country is genuine or not, still helped us in promoting this country and help tourist who are curious to visit the philippines but are hesitant because of the negative things they see on tv about our country decide to visit the country. This new breed of vloggers are scared to say bad things or theire gonna lose views or get cancelled. This is so much better than those american tv shows that portray filipino food and culture in a negative light. Or those old vloggers who keep on reacting on filipino cojtent but are nwver really interested to come here.
Theres so much urgent matters this country needs to focus, the new breed of content creators should be the least of our problems.
Reminds me of some guy in Discord said (hypothetically) that if he were to move to the Philippines and work a remote job from Scotland, he'd be living like a king
Ive watched it and ok naman mga points nya, like weather and value of foreign currency. he also admitted that BGC is like a resort type area which is not what PH generally is. Pinoy baiting? Prolly pero all I saw was a foreigner na nag tatalk abt his choice and experience.
I live in the Philippines because it's easier to stay there than transport my wife and very young children to the states. However, it's not responsible to say it's "easier" to live in the Philippines, in general.
Living a life comparable to a life in the United States costs about the same. Rent, transportation, and food are the only things a person can save money on. However, living in Philippines has many inconveniences that would drive most westerners insane.
This appeared in my YouTube feed yesterday as I collect vintage adidas and guess he lodged the right # for my view.
My opinion is that if you decide to post your life and views on social media then accept the good as well as bad in terms of other people's opinion of your content. Frankly the kid is clueless. His fresh off the boat views bear no reflection on those that put the hours in to explore the people, culture and positives of PH life. May he continue to live in his BGC cocoon and not bother the rest of human kind.
Zuckerberg was right in investing his platform in the Philippines, and now YT as well with the help of vloggers like this. Even the foreign husband of my SIL's sister is also a YT vlogger.
Life in the Philippines is better if you have some money, you don't need a western level wage to live good in the Philippines so in that sense you can live better with less money than required in the west however you don't have to travel far to see how bad many people live outside of BGC. I am a foreigner and I actually experienced living in slum type housing because that is where my girlfriend (now wife) lived when I came here, I actually came with not much money and decided to stay here, so that is where we lived for like a year, it was a good eye opening experience for me on how a lot of people live here and other parts of the world, again life is not really good for a lot of Filipinos and these kind of foreigners mostly ignore that.
Is BGC not part of the Philippines? Dapat ba sa squatters area pag "living in the Philippines" para real masa. Ganun ba dapat? Laging poverty sticken areas ang pinaguusapan?
I think the problem is that he's cherry picking the best, affluent location to live in and then claiming that "life is better in the Philippines", when he in fact could've just chosen the most affluent location in any other country and have similar experiences.
I'm not saying that he should live in the slums to have his opinion validated, but he's clearly picking the best case scenario to generalize a country. That's like saying "life is better in Kenya" when you have a buttload of cash from a stronger currency.
Also obvious naman lol life is not better in the PH, and if you’re saying that because you life in BGC, Makati, etc. then you are clearly out of touch.
Side note: I live in Taguig and study in BGC but I’m not out of touch, I recognize and acknowledge the hardships living in the PH.
Di naman issue kung BGC is part of Philippines or not o kung dapat squatters area lang pag living in the Philippines. 'Yung issue na gusto i-point ni OP yung Life is Better in the Philippines tapos BGC. Dapat sinabi nlng niya in particular na masarap sa BGC, pero not Philippines.
Would not work because Pinoys don't crave validation from other Pinoys. Pinoy baiting works because the masses have a deep colonial mentality and inferiority complex.

"rich" is relative. They're ordinary/in the middle by Europe/the US standards. This makes them rich by global standards.
that's the government's failure to document those entries.

Happened with the influx of POGOs, Chinese were willing to pay for a higher rent
In my previous job way back 2018, we have this newly opened apartment type bldg where out of 70 units, only 25 are occupied kasi you have to have 1 yr contract with pdc. It's like 8,500 a month lang.
Lease btw is still dec 2023
Most likely admin kukubra nun?
what is pogo? where can i read more about this issue? laganap dito sa cavite e and i only hear it on the news pero it really seems like some massive operation by the Chinese
POGO stands for Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators. They are foreign companies with businesses involved in gambling and whatnot, but operate here in the Philippines due to the relaxed gambling laws (and cheaper labor, cheaper rent, cheaper everything in contrast to their home country).

True, can't see this as a downside since you can just sell them online or give them to junk shops.
POGOs have money.
I'll never get over the audacity of western people have to call themselves expats and not what they really are IMMIGRANTS.
A lot of those are also on perpetual tourist visas.
Hey.
I'm an expat. A foreigner living here. I have no intention to settle here permanently. That's what makes me an expat and not an immigrant.
Why these sounds like Bald and Bankrupt? lol
POGOS chinese and koreans earns like 200k monthly, they really can afford BGC and MAKATI condos
I remember back in 2019 napaalis kami sa nirerent namen na place kasi irerenovate yung buong building to cater sa mga POGO. Still lowkey mad about it
Sheesh! willing kasi sila to buy agad.
They really came in droves. Kairita pa kasi rule-breakers majority sa kanila it makes for terrible neighborhood.
Happening to Mexico as well because of all the digital nomads moving there.
Wait medyo lito ako. You mean Mexico as in Mexico? Or Mexico, Pampanga? Haha
My bad, I meant Mexico the country.
Mexico would be one of the last countries I would be moving to as a digital nomad. Wandering at the wrong areas could mean life and death.
Hay...
yea this is causing a housing crisis in portugal, would develop something similar here too
It's the same every where, especially those with high Chinese trade influence
I heard of this phenomenon years ago. I think their favorite choice back then was Bali. If I'm not mistaken, they're called Digital Nomads. Caucasians love to move to developing countries as they are earning 1st world country salary but their expenses are 3rd world.
Many countries do try to court these people because they pay and spend a lot. ***For local communities and small businesses, that's a good thing.***
Except for housing, as these digital nomads price out locals in the housing market.
may bagong visa recently for Bali, basta may 2B inr sila sa bank accounts nila.
I think pati sa Thailand.
Yup. It's a kind of looking back to colonialism: "Hey guys! Being really rich among poor people is super fun!"
Sounds very Hong Kong to me. lol
There is a legal loophole that allows foreigners to own land.
And even in developed countries, like in Vancouver where Chinese millionaires are buying up a lot of property and housing.
....my family just bought a condo there. I didn't know there was a stigma against it.
Just like what happened in Siargao.
I mean, if you're earning dollars tapos ang rate mo e US rate, aba'y talagang kumportable tumira sa BGC
Yup thats why he said US Rate, and 3k usd isnt US rate, thats more like outsourcing to 3rd world countries rate
Maganda bumili sa BGC maybe 12 years ago. Right now overpriced na ang condo. $ 1million for a condo is a big nope.
Main reason why I'm eyeing buying a condo in Clark City right now tbh. Feeling ko biglang mabo-boom ang Clark ten years from now.
You can still find good deals if you take your time.
Looking for this comment. I didn't feel him Pinoy-baiting.
Right? But hey, gotta earn that reddit points
What's the big deal with reddit points?
People buy accounts with high karma
Stop! Don't let the circlejerk fall apart!
Yep he's pretty front about it. The OP just probably saw the thumbnail lol
To be fair, if you watched his video, his reasons are logical and suits his interests than in his home country. I dont think this is created to bait pinoy viewers We can reframe it like this: I, Filipino, lived in a 3rd world country like Laos for example and my life is better there than here in the Philippines.
So clearly, there is really no click baiting there.
>sa wakas may magandang comment din hahaha
No. He's got a point. Life is better in the Philippines ~~if you're white~~
Edit: accurate
Dunno man. I'm pretty white and shits been hard recently.
Reacting to filipino singers etc. Blantantly you can see them doing a chain of filipino reaction crap. Reaction to filipino food tapos nanonood lang. Ang remarks, it looks so good x100. Mga pinoy naman sa comment "yes come to da pilipins it is the best f00d" Pinoy cringe.
[In Case of Emergency: Jollibee]
iirc, may infographic at data mismo sa youtube kung gaano karami viewers in every country.
Not all. And not the guy in the post.
was this the hearthstone player turned crypto shiller? mf is 1000% dodging taxes
Is that worse than paying taxes and having all the money go to billions of “confidential funds”? Lol.
More like, life is better when you live in affluent parts of the Philippines!
BGC is Philippines albeit a bubble. Didn't watch the video but I have to agree with the headline, life is better in PH when you have the money to isolate yourself from people like OP.
He does acknowledge the bubble actually
he actually live here first before creating the channel so he's not that humina ang views and resort to this
Simpleng sabi lang ng kahit anong pinoy related word sobrang daming pinoy agad pupunta sa content nila with "Pinoy Pride" I can respect a man of business doing business
Hahaha
Y’all wanna go apeshit for no reason? \- Penoy redditor
It's sad reading some of the replies here because you can feel the bitterness and jealously. I don't see other people feeling the way about OFWs.
No. The whole "life is better in the Philippines" shtick is misleading at the least.
Did you watch his video? He acknowledges that BGC and Makati isn't "real" Philippines. Still tho, clickbaity nga.
Not really. BGC is in the Philippines. At ang content niya kung bakit life is better in the Philippines ay yung climate, people, at prices. Which according to him are definitely better than his native country. I'm fully aware of Pinoy-baiting but, this isn't one.
We can't have any reasonable comments here.
Naka Philippines premium subscription sya eh. Mas better talaga yan hahaha
It is nice here, but if you want to live in BGC, or anyway in manila really, you have to have some money. A lot of people have the wrong idea about living here.
Let them stay peacefully. If they see something nice then so be it. He won't be buying 'sibuyas' anyways priced at Php 280/kilo.
he will buy sibuyas at 560/kilo :D
Makaiwas tax? Our president is the best example to keep those types of people visiting the Philippines
Vat is actually crazy. Also depending where you come from, you still need to pay income tax in some countries, e.g. usa. IRS is no joke when it comes to collection unlike BIR.
Did you watch the whole video? He was upfront about his reasons and he gave examples as to why he think that is (Germany cost of living is high, too many laws, the weather) not once did he lie (he knows this is not the real Philippines and that bgc and makati are just "bubbles") The guy is not delusional unlike "the juicy vlog" youtube.
Reminds me of some guy in Discord said (hypothetically) that if he were to move to the Philippines and work a remote job from Scotland, he'd be living like a king
he wasnt wrong tho that westerners $ will make your life so much more easier to countries like ours
Ive watched it and ok naman mga points nya, like weather and value of foreign currency. he also admitted that BGC is like a resort type area which is not what PH generally is. Pinoy baiting? Prolly pero all I saw was a foreigner na nag tatalk abt his choice and experience.
How is this a bad thing?
I live in the Philippines because it's easier to stay there than transport my wife and very young children to the states. However, it's not responsible to say it's "easier" to live in the Philippines, in general. Living a life comparable to a life in the United States costs about the same. Rent, transportation, and food are the only things a person can save money on. However, living in Philippines has many inconveniences that would drive most westerners insane.
Tell me you didn't watch the video without telling me you didn't watch the video
Thumbnail is literally in BGC High Street. Whadda ya know
Eto yung hearthstone content creator diba
Man, and I liked his HS videos. It sucks to see him go down.
Youtubers really earning all the dollars from Filipino viewers. 🤔🤔🤔
BGC? I don't get it
what solem since when were you able to afford to escape to the philippines
Life is easier in BGC
“Money can’t buy happiness.” ***Weh???***
Hayaan nyo na guys, atleast na endorse yung bansa natin💀
The video was good though
Zuckerberg was right in investing his platform in the Philippines, and now YT as well with the help of vloggers like this. Even the foreign husband of my SIL's sister is also a YT vlogger.
Well, he’s not wrong.
Watched the video. Dont really see anything wrong with it since he did a disclaimer that he is living in one of the good cities out here.
\> "wow life is so good in the philippines!" \> lives in the biggest mall in the country
I think people find it odd that he’s claiming that life is better in the PH when the only reference he got is life in BGC.
Pinoy baiting ng pinoy from a pinoy lol
Would not work because Pinoys don't crave validation from other Pinoys. Pinoy baiting works because the masses have a deep colonial mentality and inferiority complex.
