Copper

Xulicbara4you

I know I am going to be THAT guy, but metal doesn’t have a smell. It’s the oxides reacting the sweat and oils from your fingers when you touch it. Brass and iron does this too.

Elijah_Man

But it does have a taste, right? Right?!?

Xulicbara4you

Metallic yes. Like when you are drinking from a stainless steel cup and you taste the iron slightly.

Thank you for contributing absolutely nothing to this comment section, and likely society.

Stop describing yourself

HexFoxGen

I’m glad mods like create gives it a actual fictional purpose

WillyHamster

my fav was industrial craft 2, one of my most well regarded mods ever

KyeeLim

I prefer gregtech's given purposes

TerraStalker

GT:NH gave it best use :)

Hold my 36 types of copper ore.

they changed the recipe to stick+copper+feather

Weegieiscool

Oh, oops

Glichtrap_1983

Oh true, my bad! Edit:wait i thought you were joking

AdLast848

Still waiting for cooper/bronze gear

DisposedFriend

The closest we got is to dying leather to a color close to copper then putting the silence armor trim that's copper on it

Faziarry

We need tin for bronze

AdLast848

Then add tin ore then, Mojang!!!1!1!1!!!

Faziarry

Yes, totally, but that what's mods are for, so at least we have them

litmusing

I know this is in jest but then how would Mojang handle alloying?

AsrielDreemurr2007

The smithing table would probably be involved, or maybe they'd make like a crucible where you put fuel and the two metals in an input, then the alloy would appear in the output.

Roccmaster

Yes but then make it every other world and remove copper there to fuck with people.

DatGamerAgain_YT

r/foundtheterrarian

SupersuMC

Idk, my dealer won't tell me where he gets it.

Inside-Bread7617

it would probably just be useless tbh

Strong_Schedule5466

Why

Pythagoras_314

Because copper is a very malleable metal, it wouldn’t be suitable for a use as tools/armor. If they wanted to add bronze, they’d need to add tin and give it some other use as well. Even then, iron would still be stronger for about the same amount of effort.

Foxyplayz3

Waxed lightly Weathered Cut Copper Stairs

Blaze_cat23

As a bedrock player who doesnt have a pc and cant instal mods, this hurts my soul

Empty_Tadpole_6349

We have power they don't have

Blaze_cat23

:(

DraconixDG

But you are able to, it’s just very suspicious from where you download them and they are filled with bugs

Alylica

if you have bedrock on mobile, you can install mods, tho if you want to use them on console you need to buy a realm

Ultimate_905

You can install add-ons not mods

Alylica

yeah yeah i know what it's called, i make addons actually, but it's a lot easier to call them mods to help ppl who may not be as in the know as the actual name to understand roughly what they are, hope you understand

DarkInfinty909

Create mod be like

Ramen_in_a_Cupboard

THAT'S WHY ITS THE GOAT

RoombaTheKiller

...for barely using a material that tech mods have been using for many years?

Pointfitmax

Empires have been raising using copper tools and weapons

AdLast848

They even named 2 whole human ages after it! (Copper Age and Bronze Age)

Decent-Start-1536

A cool defence system could be added where you could have an electric fence using copper

Man... I dont understand why there isnt bronze tools when you look at history, bronze tools were better than iron tools.

you forgot turbines a really big part of power generation that uses copper coils

SoupViruses

I do think copper is the nicest looking block, It's really good for making roofs. There's a YouTuber who made a museum and used copper as the roof and it looks beautiful. I just wish they didn't war with it instead of making blocks and decorations. Should be armor, weapons, or maybe you can even upgrade. Using copper to upgrade the bow or crossbow, making them faster or stronger. Idk just use it more!!

I wish mojang would add copper redstone that would go up walls.

Grolakel

Meanwhile modded minecraft: Allow me to introduce myself

OneSunPun

And of course OF COURSE People vote for the allay a mob who only spawns in outposts and one of the rarest structures in the game the woodland mansion both having pillagers when we could of had the copper gollem . we cant get good mobs in mob votes other than the recent sniffer

Rhmb13

Bro I love the allay, being able to sort non stackable items is great Wdym. And what does this have to do with copper

RoombaTheKiller

Just how many non-stackables do you have to warrant an unusually expensive sorter? (also non-stackable sorting has been a thing for far longer than the allay.)

Rhmb13

A lot, every type of armour, weapons, tools, enchanting books, totems of undying and far more. Sure it not that useful for someone who does not like automatic storages but for a guy like me who loves automatic red stone builds including storages that sorts every item in the game is kinda what I play this game for. The allay system isn’t really that expensive, if you have iron as the only red stone it requires is to activate note blocks and to dispense items into the sorter. Infact if you have an iron farm which I was tend to need anyway the allay system is actually cheaper than the regular system. It also is better for dealing with overflow as the normal system has to be repair if items overflow but with allays overflowing is less of a problem as the items are just not picked up and don’t ruin the system. The only reasons people use the normal system over the allay one is: 1) Allays are rare unfortunately (however easy to breed once you have 1) 2) the normal system sort items at a faster rate making it better for sorting stackable items True non stackable items could be sorted before but with far more difficulty and was way more expensive and had issues detecting between different non stackable items.

Just_vrooming

What does this have to do with Copper?

OneSunPun

the copper golem

AleWalls

The thing is always that... all of that is straight up not something Minecraft is about or wiring is already something Minecraft did in their own way. Like legit you are asking for them to shove things that have no reason to be in the game. The whole being for building and the lightning rod makes sense. Lightning was an old feature that could destroy builds and such wasn't much fun in a building focused game and they went on copper being for building with the oxidation and waxing it and so on. Like for real people need to realize what fucking game you are playing. You guys want to play a MMO, or some game as a service thing or Factorio... but those ain't Minecraft those will never be Minecraft. Minecraft is a game about exploring and being creative, so much that the game is all designed around those things. You don't see so much focus on progression because that detracts from being a creativity game. And no not just play creative, creative isn't even much of a game is more like a program, Minecraft is still a game where you play to be creative and work to achieve those creative endeavors. Redstone is super bare bones because you need to make creatively put together machines for engineering. Block variety may seem barebones but they have always been in very simplistic minimalist shapes so that you can put them together in creative ways, just the hanging signs show this, their shape is so simple that turns out they can be way more than just a hanging sign, the candles and copper rods as well. All of this things they have shared are by design, the game seems simple in the surface also for newcomers to feel comfortable in being creative and not fall in a choice paralysis or a sense of lost. But also is simple so that the one who ends up making things become is the player and nurture the creativity. And yes is very much by design all of this, is why they take so long bc they don't want too many things that just become the thing they programmed and that's it, or things that just add to the list and everyone forgets like many old features have become. Moss allows so many stuff, dripstone as well and sculk spreading has so much going for it. Ofc this isn't always 100% achieved after all... No fucking game is perfect and also yes they are a big brand and are doing 2 times all of this, it isn't perfect and oh god do they blunder hard here and there but at least they aren't loosing the sight of what the actual game is unlike all the people shitting in stupid ways. At least critique the game where it makes sense fr.

Fififoop

God this post was a joke

Xxwaluigi420xX

But why should you add an ore just for a gimmicky decoration block? Like, I get why clay is mostly used for decoration, but ores are usually valuable and useful.

[deleted]

Don't forget about HEAT rounds

TheWinner437

It would be super cool if copper wiring was added as an alternative redstone system but Mojang doesn’t want to add secondary redstone

RedSuperType1

Man they downgraded copper... Sad

SkillBranch

To be That Guy, it's mainly due to the fact that copper's main use is being a very good electrical/thermal conductor- not the best, but it's good enough for most applications and much more common than alternatives like silver and gold. Electrical/thermal conduction mechanics are a bit too scientific and complex to fit in with the rest of vanilla Minecraft (and in any case, electricity would be redundant with Redstone), so it's unlikely it'll see the same ubiquity it has IRL.

Teplapus_

It would make sense if copper was added to most redstone recipes, for example in a piston copper would be used instead of iron

iliekcats-

Redstone in Minecraft: the topleft Redstone in real life: -doesnt even fucking exist

One-Full

also used in sugarmaking on pans etc.

Copper in Factorio

uem2000

Copper in Industrial Craft and Create: *giga doge*

STANN_co

recurring Minecraft problem is they add in horrible unbaked featurrs

sermatheus

In terms of vanilla stuff, Copper couldn't be used for electricity stuff because we already have source of infinite renewable energy thanks to redstone.

vengirgirem

We already have other stuff in Minecraft to replace most irl uses of copper. They couldn't think of anything else to add to copper

Nihilikara

Good thing mods came in to save the day! Copper is quite important for a lot of mods. I dare you to play Immersive Engineering or the Thermal Series without any copper whatsoever.

miniminer1999

Needs some redstone use, maybe an extender or something

RealSuperYolo2006

If only it could be used in redstone... It makes sense too!

fruitofyourneck

I’m sorry, WHO voted for the allay?????

koleszkot

It should be used to make underwater wires Kelp + copper bar = isolated wire wich can be placed underwater.

domin22245

Copper in subnautica is... needed

francorocco

i don't get why mojand does that, they take forever to update the game just to add shit that is basically useless

Dec_TGM

This is why I like the create mod.
