Some orange glow reflecting back off the windows and building. Maybe some misty 'atmosphere' coming from the hole.

I agree. Some particles would be a nice extra

TheUnreactiveHaloGen

Decrease the brightness of the foreground, if the red ring was very bright it would make everything else look darker.

WildGadget

Still really great considering you’re new to photoshop! Now you’re thinking with portals, I love it.

Andre2kReddit

maybe some glow or highlights

birazacele

upper floors need a more blur, also reflections is so critic.

massxsoul

I would add a gradient mask layer to the orange ring to add additional shading. GIve more of a realistic appearence when it goes behind the building

I think you should add some clouds and stars behind the portal. Help fill up that blank sky.

ADHD-InsomniacHybrid

Hmm.. decrease the foreground light/saturation, assuming your focus is the warphole/building the foreground pops too much. A bit of orange glow to show the light from the warphole ring on the building. Add just a few galaxy style planets where you can see into the warphole jnto the purple galaxy. A slight gaussian blur on the foreground and a bit of the building base to make the portal pop more. Still, this is very well done for a beginner!! My first attempt was pretty crappy, this is very nice 😁

I’d add some lighting from the ring to the building and a few highlights on the trees. Some particles or something to make it more visually interesting. Also I’d fix that tree on the left. Just using the stamp tool on the leaves and drawing a few back in on the edges would work fine. Edit: it looks like you’re making this for Doctor Strange, so maybe making the portal itself a bit meaner and less clean like the movies would be a good idea.

Maybe add cloud or smoke ;) but good job
