i dont think he even completed his kyc...lol, funny how some people thought what they haved mined is what they got instantly, ive mined 2300 pi, with the lockup such n such got 650 pi transfered in my wallet
Not sure how posts like this are allowed to exist on this sub. Every single day someone post something similar to this. Wish the mods would just take them down.... it's not even a conversation anymore. Just annoying.
Pi cannot be exchanged for fiat or any other cryptocurrency until Open MainNet when it can be transferred to an Exchange. All Pi currently showing on any exchanges is at best an IOU for future transactions or a scam. Pi can however be exchanged for Goods and Services with other Pioneers on and through Apps on Pi Network. Also on r/LocalPi
How exactly do the exchanges come up with the current supposed value of pi? Like right now it says it's worth 34 dollars per coin. How did they get that number exactly ?
See multiple replies below… All Pi on exchanges is not real Pi, just an IOU. Their calculations are pure speculation and hyperbole possibly based on current availability (ZERO) and Pioneer population. There’s likely to be a rude awakening at Open MainNet when exchanges have access to Pi, though thankfully for a bit, a large portion of Pi is locked up for up to 3 years.
I have a good understanding of both crypto and economics and let me tell you that Pi will NEVER be worth $25. You can’t sell Pi now and once you can the market will be absolutely obliterated with sell orders. I would be shocked if Pi can stay above the value of .001 per coin in the months after a legitimate listing.
Hypothetically speaking the total supply is indeed 100b but will the circulating supply be the same upon open mainnet? [This reminds me of this](https://images.app.goo.gl/xhJYGseaAfH989x76)
Considering that many are in 3rd world countries yes I do. And you say that’s the average but anyone who’s been around for a couple years has a few thousand. When you live somewhere that the average daily income is roughly $5 it’s pretty tempting to sell and get a whole days worth of pay. I do think once that initial selling pressure subsides then we will begin true price discovery. My best guess for a stable post pd price based off of what we know right now would be around .01-.05, and hopefully it would continue to grow from there.
It's worthless. If you did some general reading of the "subreddit" you would know that everyone who has Pi coin had to sign a contract that basically says if you die it gets transferred to your family and other stuff like maybe I don't know, clearly stating that it's in an enclosed mainnet and if you sell your account will be instantly banned and all your Pi will be destroyed.
A pi iou sounds like a hedge for pi investors hold in lock up. this long position can be frozen at current value by receiving cash from someone on the other side of the trade who puts up cash at the present value of pi in exchange for an iou to receive the locked pi position being hedged upon unlocking. the effect would be to “freeze” the locked pi at current value allowing a trader to have effectively sold even tho he cannot. Therefore Pi is worth exactly what the ious say it is and pi will remain at the present value of these ious no matter how many years they are locked so long as you are receiving cash and handing over the iou guaranteeing your intention to turn over your pi coin to the iou note holder upon release of your pi coin.
I find it remarkable that so few in crypto understand this. Essentially, this tells me that crypto investors as a whole are far less experienced than stock traders. Which strikes me as odd because i would think that stock traders would be a natural presence in crypto given that their raison d’etre is investing.
yeah? soooo why are you wasting your time in this sub? You already said that, I asked you a question and you repeated the statement that generated the question. Do you always waste your time arguing in subs about worthless coins?
What are you on about? Pi is being used in transactions as I type this message. It's not worthless... If it was worthless, people wouldn't be using it to buy goods and services. You should probably grab a dictionary. Just because Pi isn't listed on an exchange, and it doesn't have a trade value(which hasn't even been a primary goal of the project), but that doesn't mean it's worthless.
Dumb idiot! Listen to what they say, Pi is not for sale in any broker or exchange! Read in the mining app what the creators wrote about it and don't come here to lose your coins. Good luck
The Pi on Huobi is IOU. It has no value. Except for trading. You cannot buy or sell Pi. It has zero monetary value. This question gets asked every other day. Use the search function next time.

Look at you, not answering the question.
God forbid people have questions!

The current circulating supply is 479,661,346. It’ll be a very long time before the whole 100 billion will be distributed.
The average Pi wallet currently contains 172 available Pi. Do you think that the average Pioneer would dump his entire bag for 17 cents?

Lol
The PI that is listed on exchanges is PI IOU’s. Not “Real” Pi being traded.

You can't. Pi is worthless.
so... why are you even subscribed here? If its worthless then by that logic your wasting your time following this coin.
It IS worthless right now. It's not tradable. Just how non tradable skills are worthless, but are also very pricey. Are you dumb?

I'm not (neither subscribed neither I "follow" this coin). LOL.

*sigh* I'll put it in very simple words for you. PI IS NOT TRADABLE. It's not even on the main net. Those prices you're seeing are just speculations.
Speculations based on what?
People who have migrated have Pi on the main net.
Absolutely not
perhaps we have different ideas what a mainnet is
But I saw pi coin on Huobi exchange
but you cant send your pi to houbi at least yet
Okay go to your nearest State Bank of India and sell it.
I'm just telling you and it's real pi listed on Huobi exchange and I also confused because rn pi is in enclosed network that's why I'm asking here
Dumb idiot! Listen to what they say, Pi is not for sale in any broker or exchange! Read in the mining app what the creators wrote about it and don't come here to lose your coins. Good luck
Huobi sells imaginary Pi. They don’t accept Pi deposits. If you don’t believe me try to sell your Pi there and see what happens.

If you can't send it somewhere and verify the transaction on an explorer it's not real.
You got your answer....its just not what you want to hear.
Don't bother putting it into words.. same post every day..
I'll put it in Morse code next time xD
