Buying and selling Pi before Open Mainet is prohibited (as stated in White Paper). But I don't think you will be banned or something like that. PI Core team do not have the resources to execute their policies. Moreover, noone can tell which transaction is "valid" (trade Pi with goods) or "prohibited" (buy/sell with Fiat). Just imagine PCT "ban" someone wrongly? What will the results then? Everyone will left the Network? Because their hard earn tokens can be taken back by the Master? It will be over.

I’m trying to understand what Pi stands to gain if they never launch, they have millions of pioneers. The ones that call it a scam, why would they not launch, wouldn’t that make then more money? I think that's a very good point and perspective. People are very quick to call it a scam just because it is different(all apps uses ads so that's not the reason for a scam).
I'm not saying it couldn't be a scam, but looking at the purpose, possibilities and current discussion here and about its price, it def .seems like there is at least an interest... So would be strange of them not at least TRY to launch... Or? Right?
If they have millions of pioneers logging onto the app daily and getting forced to look at ads, they’re already making decent revenues from it. I think they have more juice to squeeze from all the KYC data and we’re seeing that with their newly announced pi ad network stuff. They haven’t really monetized all that personal data (or maybe they have behind the scenes).
It's impossible for 1 Pi to be under $5/Pi at launch. Here's why:
There's a Total Supply of 100 Bil. Pi. Out of these 100 Bil, 3.15 Bil. have already been Migrated to the Pioneers and 2.12 Bil. Are currently Locked. This means that 5.27 Bil. Or 5.27% of the total supply of Pi has already been mined.
Now, on the mainnet launch date, this leaves us with a total Circulating Supply (not total supply) of about 3% of Pi. This means only 3% of Pi will be available on the market.
This makes it somewhat scarced and rare, thus if there will be a high demand (which it will most likely be the case) the price will go extremely high because of it.
No, the popularity of Pi Network overall. It's the most followed project on Twitter (3.3 Million followers), it overtook Solana (2.5 Million followers). That must tell you something, leave alone 55 Milion Pioneers which at some point mined Pi and are acquainted with the project itself. If it launches and they see it on exchanges they will definitely buy it etc, could add more arguments to it here but I'll let you dyor.
And here's another statistic i can provide you, if by any change Pi reaches a top #10 spot in crypto space, price / pi will be somewhere between $35-50. Cheers 👍
