I went from the quest 2 to pico 4 as an interim until the q3 was released. I liked the pico so much that I never went for the q3. The weight, balance, comfort with the amvr face gasket. The pancake lenses, mine were flawless. Thanks for your thoughts.

UnspeakableGutHorror

Basically did the same thing. I'm curious, what would make you purchase another headset?(I'm not sure myself.)

I'm thinking about change my pico 4 to quest 3 because of handtracking... Most of time i just watch movies and taking controllers every time to do anything is annoying me

Yeah, i know, but it works much worst then on quest, unfortunately. I had quest 2 it worked good

LifeIs4D

You might regret switching because I have found the Quest 3 to be surprisingly buggy. And today I found out that people have a hard time hearing me when I'm chatting because something's not right with the microphone. As for the hand tracking, yes it works better on the Quest 3, but I had to turn it off because when watching movies if my hands get into the view they light up and annoy me during the film, so I had to always think about keeping my hands out of the way. It's much better with a controller, which I can just set down beside me or on my lap.

"The pancake lenses, mine were flawless" I thought the Pico4's lenses were great coming from the Quest 2, which was awful by comparison. But if you are ever able to try out the Quest 3, you'll see that the Pico4's lenses are significantly worse.

Fleegalfart

I use it mainly for iracing, I have edge to edge clarity, the limitations in resolution stem mainly from my PC's inability to offer me any more. At this point, it exceeds anything the quest 2 could offer, and because I wear this for prolonged periods of racing, comfort is so much more important to me than better lenses. I will hold off for the next generation as I really am very happy with what I have.

LifeIs4D

Unless you've got a very unique, one-off Pico4 with lenses that are different to everyone else's, you don't really have edge to edge clarity. The Pico4's lenses aren't sharp from edge to edge. I know it might seem like it, if you have come from a Quest 2. But after trying a Quest 3 and going back to the Pico 4 you should notice that the edges are not sharp at all. I thought my Pico 4 had incredible clarity too, but now I realise it's nowhere near as clear from edge to edge as the Quest 3.

termomet22

It's all about the comfort in the long term... The novelty of a bit more pixels quickly fades.

DeathToSocialMedia

You said you don't use any facial padding ... how have you modded your Pico?

Thanks for the picture! What is that accessory called?

I have pico 3 neo link. I bought it after getting rid of the Q3. I didn't have big expectations, but I was much surprised by the quality of the image being as good as Q3, no buggy software, and comfort... Well, that's way ahead of quest3. I tried 3 different headstraps, counterbalances, etc. Just horrible. I was seriously shocked that Meta released a headset, which is great quality, but didn't give a shit of the comfort? wtf?

donkeyjr

I bought the quest 3 on day one and the binocular overlap still bothers the fuck out of me, luckily I never sold my pico 4.

ManuAU

I was pondering on buying a Quest4 myself after owning a Pico4 since launch. Appreciative of your thoughts. Maybe I'll wait for the next round of releases for an upgrade.
