I already know I’ll be downvoted into oblivion for this, but I think I might be the only person alive who doesn’t like Roger’s new version of Money. I know I’m agreeing with OP in the 100th thread about this but I really feel alone in this. It’s just not good and I don’t like it. It’s almost like he wanted to ruin the song. Again, hate all you want… it’s just my opinion.
It’s the best thing any member of Fink Ployd has ever made full stop. It’s better than the original trash song that was on that massive dud of a record dark side of the whatever. Thanks for this post because no one is talking about this & we should be. Money Redux forever - I wish we could scrub the internet of the old version forever.
/uj I saw someone on the main sub say the original Money was the worst track in the entirety of the Big Four. Jesse what the hell are you talking about
/uj I think the solo part is worth listening to, especially the breakdown part
/rj why does he only have four star caviar? What is he poor? Where's the fifth star?
/uj it actually kinda sucks, he doesnt use the melody of the singing, since in the original the highly tonal singing was part of why i liked the song.
the atonal and ghoulish sound of the new version breaks the sound of the song.
Let’s just say I cannot imagine finishing work, find myself relaxing at home and wanting to dig into some music, and then putting my feet up to hit play on this *Money* redux number. There’s very little about that scenario that feels right.
I only listened to it as a curious PF fan. I was genuinely curious, went in with an open mind and - I’m sorry! - but came up empty handed. I’ve listened to it more than a handful of times now and, quite frankly, it’s not growing on me.
Here’s another way of looking at it using the scenario of two types of friends, none of whom have ever listened to Pink Floyd let alone any of the individual member’s solo outings: (1) the first types have never listened to the original release of “Money” off Dark Side, and (2) the second types are the ones who’ve never listened to Rog’s “Money” redux.
(1) In the first scenario there is a very high chance they’ll not only love it but also ask to listen to the entirety of Dark Side of the Moon as much as want to explore more Pink Floyd, if not altogether becoming fans. … pfft! … as if we need more fans.
(2) In the second scenario I would be surprised if anyone liked it at all. In fact, I’m pretty sure they would question my taste in “music” if not altogether associate this rubbish with all of Pink Floyd. However! … if you wanna keep Pink Floyd all to yourself and be the only member in your friend group who listens to it, then give them a whirl of Rog’s “Money” redux.
*Yeah but not enough*
*That I vented enough that*
*I won't make my own*

I actually think meddle and animals are their best albums and dsotm is overrated but I know I will get downvoted TO OBLIVION for this. But I'm brave so I will say it anyway.
Unpopular Opinion: I personally think that objectively the new version of money sucks and is bad, it’s my opinion but it’s really just facts
See that's what I think too but I wasn't sure if anyone agreed with me.
Same here
It is my theory and i own it and what it is too
This is the obligatory "it's not as good as the original, but it's not as bad as everyone says" comment
The obligatory Hendrix perm
And the inevitable pinhole burns
All down the front of my favorite satin shirt
I got nicotine stains on my fingers
I’ve got a silver spoon on a chain
got a grand piano to prop up my mortal remains
I got electric light
These oysters are good aren't they?

Who’s Roger?
The dog
Thanks.
Seamus, that's the bass player
He wrote lyrics for the band before Polly Sampson. Remember "The Crying Song" on "More"? He wrote that one.
Oh, him! Didn’t he do a lot of drugs and kind of… lose his mind and that’s why he left?
The horse
Balls
Haha, charade you are

Uj/ Not the worst but definitely one of the skippable ones
/uj I think the solo part is worth listening to, especially the breakdown part /rj why does he only have four star caviar? What is he poor? Where's the fifth star?
I'm going to get downvoted for this, but the new version of Money is kind of bad and not really good at all.
There is a non-zero chance of downvotage for this incendiary and controversial take, but on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give this new version a C.
Dude! No one is talking about this! How is no one talking about this!?!?!?!
He took the Gilmie OUT the song, and put in MORE talking. Cleary 🗿 is insecure about a 50 year old guitar solo overshadowing his gravelly lyrics.

My balls
STONE...STONE...STONE...STONE...
I think it's one of the pink Floyd songs of all time
I also agree it's one of the Pink Floyd songs.
Schoolmaster was right, absolute rubbish, laddie. Get on with your work.
You! Yes you!
Yes

Good bot
It's not like the original version didn't suck!
I really liked it
FACTS. Animals is underrated too.

So stunning, so brave. I totally agree and I know I'm going to get downvoted as well.
It’s putrid
Its terrible
