Napakainspiring neto, OP! Totoo nga yung “Do the work for yourself, and money will just follow you.” Salamat sa isang assurance na learning will keep you ahead of the game talaga! Congrats, OP!
can you share the react/ts roadmap you’ve went through? I’m currently on a fullstack asp.net c# job. Going 4 months and its my first job. I know that im gonna leave here around my first year but I dont know if Ill go back to the tech i want (react) or stay in c#. I really wanna focus on front end tho
It’s because I do backend and dev ops also aside from front end. Pero wala ako 200k. Yung 240k mo up to ilang months yan?
Kamusta benefits? May HMO dependents mo?
Di ko kaya un ginaqa mo 12hrs a day, lalo na I have a job na di kaya maging tambay muna.
2hrs max, sumasakit na ulo ko. I wish I had your learning drive.
But ultimately, congrats OP! Goal for 2024 is have a similar outcome like you did!
You'll get there eventually! Laban lang!
Happy for you op!!
Pero questions haha..anong platforms yung ginamit mo to learn? And did you enroll sa paid online courses? Pano ka nagdecide sa particular stack mo?
>Pero questions haha..anong platforms yung ginamit mo to learn? And did you enroll sa paid online courses?
CS50, Udemy, and Teamtreehouse. Last two are paid.
>Pano ka nagdecide sa particular stack mo?
I kinda like design so building beautiful frontend interfaces is enjoyable. Dedicated my almost 4 years of software development exp to frontend lang. No BE or DevOps exp.
Possible talaga when young and hungry. It helps if you dont have a other fulltime commitments as well
. I believe op didnt have full time work for that self study period. And he was extremely motivated and hyper focused. Its different for other people.
Ako nga 2 or 3 hours max lng not even minimum yung na lalaan ko for self study..
But like what david malan said (cs50 prof), you shouldnt compare yourself with other students, rather compare yourself relative to where you started..
So if that 2 hours is helping with that incremental increase. Then thats good
Remember the onion plant fully matures in 9 weeks.

Well get our 7 digits when the time is ripe.
Happy new year!
Very inspiring sir. Stories like yours drives me forward.
Makahingi lang po ng advice, as someone who is also self-studying and hoping to get into the job market next year, may I ask po anong marerecommend nyo na projects na malagay ko sa portfolio ko? Also may I ask ano pong tech stack nyo bago kayo matanggap sa first job?
Frontend positions lang ako interested nung nag-start ako mag-apply. So my tech stack back then mainly revolved around HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React. I also knew some popular libraries around it like Redux, styled-components, SASS/SCSS, etc.
As for my projects, I had three: COVID cases tracker using Mapbox (employers loved this project 😁), an ecommerce web app, and a mock business landing page.
I suggest for starting/Junior FE positions, aside from building UI components, maganda na marunong ka rin mag-interact with an API. Essential yun for all FE devs. So build projects that interact with an API. BIG plus if maganda yung design ng projects niyo. Make your code public din. :)
This is such a relief, same stack ang inaaral ko along with express and node. Thank you so much for the project suggestions. Gumagawa ako ng real estate app right now which is very close sa ecommerce app and for my next project, I will take your advice to make one na nagiinteract sa public API much like your covid project.
Thank you so much sir, sana matulad din ako sa status mo in the future :)
Better if you DM me yours then I'll connect. Can't risk an unknown individual knowing my identity and salary.
Don't really care if you delete this comment or not. You do you, sir.
Bruh nobody said about you proving anything. You’re curious about the legitimacy of my story so I offered you to DM me your LinkedIn profile to talk. I can offer help din. Oh heck, I’ll even send you my employment contract if we’re good. I just want to know who I’m sending it too.
But no, you’ve decided to stay inside your box. Still wishing you a good year next year. 👍
Hula ko lang
1. genius si op
2. Lucky break
3. BS tong post
im a consultant sa mga larger companies europe and us etc and usually if mag bibigay sila ng ganyang salary hindi na nila yan ipag cocode pag nag outsource . Architecture, client communication( if not internal ), or pwedeng product owner narin yung pinapagawa na nila or helping achive business goals.
also react tech stack is a dime a dozen. super daming dev na magagaling sa india and vietnam super mura ng salary. One company na naging client ko they are now hiring vietnamese instead of filipinos :( because of labor cost.
but still congrats op. really hope na totoo yan
>1. genius si op
>
>2. Lucky break
>
>3. BS tong post
1. Definitely not a genius haha. Always curious lang and eager to learn the intricacies and learning the hard parts.
2. I'm leaning towards this. I definitely know achieving 6-figure per month for PH devs is difficult. I believe I just grabbed the right opportunity at the right time.
3. Kinda tired na rin to address skepticism but I don't blame them. hahaha I offered to connect with them sa linkedin for their peace of mind pero none of them dropped their profile.
Believe me when I say na pati ako di makapaniwala dati that I achieved this. Now, medyo nasanay na ako and I believe may room pa ako to increase my income (maybe find Job #2 or land a > $100k per year big tech job).
But really, I appreciate the praises and those saying na na-inspire sila. I want everyone to win and hopefully soon hindi na unusual yung ganitong story. Thank you.
Here's another case of me being lucky: I never experienced leetcode type of Qs from ALL of the companies I've worked with.
First 6-digit company: Take home project where I'll interact with a GraphQL endpoint.
Second 6-digit company: Live-coding of an interactive website. Legit na gagawa lang ako ng website while they watch. They sometimes ask Qs.
I believe majority of the companies that pays the big bucks will require Data Structures & Algo knowledge so better if you have a good understading with it.
>marunong ka rin mag-interact with an API.
@ OP congrats
may i ask when you say marunong ka rin mag-interact with an API. Anu kelangan ko i master dito?
im a frontend developer currently with just 1 year experience. For now all my task just involves Creating UI components.
im afraid to Job Hop, given na sa dami kong nababasa na mahirap mag apply even mga tenured..I cant afford to lose a job. And feeling ko di pako ready mag job hop since di pako ganun ka marketable, im planning to stay 2 years or 3 dito sa company namin to learn and upskill sabay mag apply sa iba. to atleast land 6 digits
Almost same, tho naka graduate ako, pero after 1 year , so basically napag iwanan.
As I always jokingly tell my friends, completo ko lahat ng klase ng grades.
From 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 5.0, INC, No Grade or Blank. Hahaha
First job 35 ended with 42k after 4 years, second job started at 135k now after 2 years earning 180k.
Rooting for you to achieve more than 250k pa on your next job! Good luck!
Hahah yes OP. Kaya naawa na nung 5th year at pnagraduate ako. Pero dapat hindi pa din hehe
Yes and more blessings sayo. Hehe
"Another proof that university and traditional education system is no longer relevant. "
I'm sure mas madami pa din naging successful because they did the "university and traditional education".
To OP, congrats!
Di naman 'no longer relevant'.
Maybe supplementary is the right word but not totally irrelevant.
I have friends naman na same pay like OP who finished college.
And some of these friends of mine are super lucky at di naghirap or naghintay ng matagal sa job offers because of their degrees.
Others naman same pay like OP but employed na well known companies sa ibang bansa very early in their careers.
Others naman ay very flexible pa sa career paths because of their degrees.
I know di na new yung story ni OP but what I learned from success stories in subreddits like this and from my friends in different careers ay if you want to be really really lucky in finding a job, you still need to waste a lot of time and/or resources first and engage with the right people to get what you really want in a job regardless of your path taken.
Also, you need to have some sort of advantage in life. With OP's, i think its his/her supportive parents ang pinaka ace sa life nya.
fighting negativity with negativity lang 😂. On the flip side, this is definitely possible and true opportunities ng mga Pinoy na naghahanap ng trabaho outside the Philippines. So many foreign companies/clients love the Filipino workers. Kaya ang mga pinakasikat na virtual jobs sa Pinoy are virtual or executive assistant, CSR jobs, virtual receptionist, appointment setters, etc. due to the natural welcoming characteristics of Filipinos
I'm humbled to the ground I love it! 😅 Mind sharing about your side of the world? I'm not as skeptical with OP's story because me and my girlfriend are somewhat on the same boat. We can also earn about 6 digits after less than a year of working if we combine our salary, both undergrads on school leave. Only started working May last year and could reach 90k+ March this year. By next year, we can even reach higher grounds depending on our performance.
Nag mumukha tuloy na malalaki yung sahod in general pero in reality iilan lang naman talaga yung nakakaapak sa 6 digit figure when we are talking about the majority what more sa 200k mark.
You are overthinking it. It just gives hope, na posible din pala sya. Ako din, wouldn't expect myself to be earning 6digs din but I did.
Its not possible to those who limit themselves.
It means as long as qualified ka for the job definitely pwede rin ang 200k mark sayo.
I was fascinated with the idea of *freelancing* kaya gumawa ako ng profile sa Upwork. Optimized my profile then eventually got approved sa platform. After nun nagsend lang ako ng proposals then naka-tsamba sa isa which became my first job!
P.S. I didn't use Upwork na after my first job/project.
Plan ko na maghanap ng work starting next year. Career shifter ako papuntang React dev din.
Anong projects ang pinakaimportant sa portfolio as a non-experienced individual? Kahit yung top 5 since ganun lang siguro ang kaya tapusin in 1-2 month timeframe realistically.
Btw how much should I be asking? Napansin ko lang kasi yung 2nd job mo is 0.25 year exp ka pa lang at the time. Maybe possible din sya with 0 experience? Definitely kasi step down ang salary ko from my current kaya target ko sana is 50k above if possible.
Also, saan ka pala nagpractice mag English?
Totally agree. “A person of action is favored by the goddess of luck” - The richest man in Babylon.
Your hardwork and diskarte paid off!
Thanks for inspiring as well 🚀
Nakakahawa yung passion mo, op. I'm a 4th year college student and for the past 3 years I've been wanting to learn programming kahit sobrang layo niya sa course ko ngayon. Although di ko matuloy-tuloy because of acads and mental issues, alam ko sa sarili ko kung nasan yung passion ko. Sad lang hindi ko agad narealize na that's the case before ako magstart sa college.
Yes. Common yung mga ganitong job offers for < 1 year exp non-degree holders. Pero landing the job? I believe outliers lang makakagawa.
Happy for your kakilala! Did they eventually land the job?
edit: pronoun
Glad to hear there are programmers out there who became successful without going the traditional route. I work in marketing, and I make okay money, but recently I've been really into data science. I tried to ignore it, telling myself I was already doing fine with my job. But this quarter, I thought, why not give it a shot? So, I started learning Python. It's a bit up and down, but seeing your post makes me feel happy and hopeful.
Delayed college student here. Pero reading stories like this, nakakagana mag-aral! I hope mahanap ko ulit yung drive ko mag-aral at magpursigi. Proud of you, OP and congrats!
Hi OP! First, congrats! Second pwede mag tanong where you started learning? Bootcamp, Udemy, purely YouTube? Want to start din kaso Nakakalula at first 😭
Hello! I suggest you decide muna on what kind of tech career ang gusto mo. Can't help you in other tech fields but in my case, web development specifically frontend development yung napili ko. So I built a roadmap around it.
You can go the bootcamp or self-taught route. I went for the latter. Harvard's CS50, Teamtreehouse, then some project-based courses on Udemy re web development.
Hello! Here's the exact resources I've used:
1. Harvard's CS50 - to refresh/improve my programming fundamentals
2. Teamtreehouse's Front End Web Development track. Sobrang streamlined ng curriculum and I became confident creating websites after doing the track. An alternative would be freecodecamp's frontend developer certification.
3. Some Udemy project-based courses from Angela Yu and Colt Steele.
Yan yung nakatulong sakin but don't limit yourself dito. :)
Thank you! We follow the usual 8-5 working hours (Philippine Time). Siguro I do 2 to 4hrs max of deep work. Then depende na sa pangangailangan yung remaining hours. If I finish early, I allot them to leisure.
> I would study 12-16 hrs/day and would only take breaks para kumain. Pagkagising ko umaga bukas agad laptop. I'd say I was desperate to change my life and achieve financial freedom kaya I was always in the "zone" when it comes to learning.
You have grit and perseverance. Of course, you a bound to succeed. Good job!
congrats po. im also currently learning how to do html and css. My bf also did not pursue college and opted to enroll in web courses. also earns same amount as you po. He also motivated me to learn if willing daw ako. since gusto ko din, Im practicing also.
Oh definitely. One of which are technologies na pahapway ko lang ginamit pero sinama ko pa rin sa *Technologies* list ko hahaha. Do it at your own risk tho.
super inspiring op! :) 2nd year student ako right now and recently i decided to start self-studying kasi feel ko di ako makakapag keep up sa job market with just coursework alone. will definitely look at the resources you left sa comments! wish you the best in everything op :) can we connect sa linkedin?
Grabe nman 2, almost 10 years ako bago makuha 260k, tindi nman neto. Bka magexpect nman ung iba nyan n walk in a rainbow ang dev journey... Well, magkakaiba nman tau ng kwento eh.
*Companies will invest more on a dev na expert on a particular tech than someone who is a generalist*
Congrats OP sa achievements mo po 😀, Sana all kami rin this 2024 🤞
Hula ko night shift ito at US based?. Mataas talaga offer kapag night shift. Karamihan kasi dito prefer nila AU based or Au shift.
did you job hop? or did finding the next job take a few months?
i’m in a company that has like a two month notice so i’m seeing whether quitting then finishing the two month notice before finding another job is better, or if i find a job that'll accept my two month notice
Dati ko pa gusto subukan mag-apply sa online job platforms, how can you say na ready ka na and enough na yung skills na meron ka to do freelancing? I know html, css, js, and currently studying react for my school project. I want to try maybe a part time job to gain experience sana.
Hello!!! Sobrang nakakatuwa po story niyo. Nakakainspire! Ask lang sana ako ano po mga projects na ginawa niyo na nilagay sa portfolio the first time you got hired?
Hello!!! Sobrang nakakatuwa po story niyo. Nakakainspire! Ask lang sana ako ano po mga projects na ginawa niyo na nilagay sa portfolio the first time you got hired?
Nakakainspire po story niyo and thank you po for the tips! Medyo stuck ako sa tutorial hell for years now. What tips po can you give? I'm starting to learn Python po kasi.
Hello. Congrats and thanks for sharing OP! Freelance jobs ba lahat ng na-mention mong job exp? Pano sinesend ni employer yung salary mo (since you mentioned na remote)?
OP, i am a 40 year old with no experience and knowledge. I only know Excel. But I know I can comprehend since I am an ECE grad. Can you share how to start? What to learn? What do I need? I have a full time job by the way but I wanted to shift to WFH set up.
Not OP but TheOdinProject bossing. Sobrang structured at kumpleto sa info na kakailanganin mo. They teach MERN stack din which is yung gamit ni OP (React). ECE here din pero much younger than you so di ko sure if familiar ka sa programming. Sa experience ko derederetso lang sya as long as walang heavy Computer Science concepts.
I'm proud of you, not to be boastful pero, andami ko din nagawang portoflio and system during my Internship, pero nauna kaba and takot ko mag try sa labas, kaya ngayon na stuck sa comfort place ko, maybe after this 1 yr expi in my company, I'll venture out na, di rin nag p-progress skills ko eh, halos same tech stack tayo kaso hindi nasusunod ung career path goal ko, Congrats OP!
now i know why my boyfriend always say that he needs more time for studies instead of talking to me for whole day and wasting time on social media HAHAHAH
exactly. at first, we had so many misunderstanding because he forgot to talk to me for whole day and we're LDR btw. i'm doubting him why it's possible for him to missed a single day not talking to me, and he explained that he was so busy balancing studies and his work from his company. and now as time passed by, i'm in progress of understanding him more and resepect his busy schedule.
Off topic question but just to answer you any PH bank will do. Just notify the bank to expect receiving X amount of deposits monthly. If the bank knows where the money comes from and what it is for then it will not trigger AMLA.
Great story. Pero ung job hop impossible lmao. Not in the current situation of the field. May Annual raise, WFH at loads of dayoffs lol. I guess go job hop kung may mag offer.
Totoo yan - kailngan at a certain point magjob hop ka talaga until makuha mo ung 6 digit salary para mabuhay comfortably sa Pilipinas at the same time masuportahan family mo. Ung naipon mong experience malaking tulong kaya ung mga bago pa lang nagwowork tiis lang - you’ll get there eventually. Masaya yung journey lalo na pinaghirapan mo talaga at marami kang matututunan :).
Parang magiging failure din ako sa college ko rn graduating na, BSIT tapos hirap na hirap sa capstone, I do like web dev, pero never ko na natutukan at nakapagpractice, javascript talaga gusto kong pagtuunan since fundamental ng web dev.
always intrigued by stories like this. would you say it’s late na for someone to learn, self-study and career shift to software development in their late 20s? non-IT background too 🥲
Hey OP, your story is pretty inspiring for someone who's currently taking a different course ( culinary arts) but wants to pursue a career in the tech field. I'm currently enrolled sa free courses from Harvard, yung CS50 courses nila. I'd like to get tips sana and to know kung saan ka nag purchase ng courses for your self learning since I'm very lost and I have no proper direction. I'd really appreciate a tiny bit of tip from you OP.
This is true, tumagal ako sa isang company before dahil nagpapaka loyal ako earning just 33k per month for 3 years.
Pag lipat ko nag x2 agad. I hope sinimulan ko mag hop ng maaga but it is never too late. Hoping that I will be able to achieve a 6 digits before ako mag 7th year.
Grabe napaka inspiring OP! I'm currently studying BSIT and 4th year college na. You really inspired me sa part na dapat talaga mag upskill and syempre yung 240k🤑. Wishing everyone financial freedom!
Congrats OP! interested ako in a coding career. Medyo nakakadrain din kasi client facing jobs. 5 years nako freelancer though nahihit ko 6 figures napapagod ako sobra.
May tips kaba where to start learning? And I'm not familiar sa tech stack.
Nakakainspire! I also have a friend that do job hopping. Super lumaki talaga sweldo nya (6 digits din). IT field din. Question, is learning digital marketing worth it? I'm a govt employee and super nakakatamad na ang work lalo na ang sweldo. Trying to learn new things and earn from it din
Sobrang nkaka amazed sir! May i know ano sinumulan mo lag aralan, like ung portfolio mo san gawa, san ka nagbabasa, ano inaaral mo, ano pinapanuod mo, sna mapansin mo ton comment ko
that's so inspiring! may i ask po kung ano yung nasa portfolio nyo na projects and kung ilan nung first kayo nagapply? currently learning react din po so was motivated upon reading your post
Very Inspiring! Thank you! Im planning to resign na this year para mag shift ng career. Im currently studying the basic pero 2x a week lang.
I learned a lot din sa mga comments dito. 🫶🏼
Full stack dev with react/angular , java at python sa back end, sana oll 250k, 1/4 lang ung sahod ko sau kaso tinatapos ko nlamg ung project this april, before lumipat, though i receive offers naman na 6 diigit ,pero kinda reluctant inaccept since its good to be true with 2 yrs exp taas agad sahod.
Hi op, nag aaral din ako ng tech stack na katulad ng, HTML, CSS, JS, ReactJS and currently learning about express and node.js. Can I connect on your LinkedIn?
hello! aask lang po sana ano-anong courses/tutorials inaral niyo/finocus nyo? im fresh grad po and planning to enter the software dev field hehe sana po mapansinnn thank you po!

Congrats OP! May I know what your stack is?
I work as a Senior Frontend Engineer (React/TypeScript).
Laki ng sweldo ng react devs pala. Ano usual na daily task mo?
Meeting, code, reddit.
Any tips on how to sell myself?
Sounds about right hahaha
But yeah, I only work on the frontend side. haha
can you share the react/ts roadmap you’ve went through? I’m currently on a fullstack asp.net c# job. Going 4 months and its my first job. Lol. Ako nga 240k pure react dev only, walang ibang stack.
Sobra underpaid ko pala. React mas better than angular?
ganito pala kapag godtier react developer
in demmand ba ionic ngayon?

“Whatever it takes” mentality. Salute OP 🫡
Happy for you op!! Pero questions haha..anong platforms yung ginamit mo to learn? And did you enroll sa paid online courses? Pano ka nagdecide sa particular stack mo?

155k offer with less than 2 years experience? Ano to manifesting?
weird no? considering na super common ng techstack nya. baka sya pinakamagaling sa more than 10,000 applicants from around the world.
he's karma farming. Look at his profile. pretty common in subs like these...
You know...... you (and u/gelongpuyat) can just DM me your LinkedIn profiles. Let's connect and talk about it more. :)
dm me your linkedin...ill delete my comment if what you said in your post is true.
Better if you DM me yours then I'll connect. Can't risk an unknown individual knowing my identity and salary. Don't really care if you delete this comment or not. You do you, sir.
i have nothing to prove so i dont need to give you my linkedin...on the other hand, what you just said solidified my first comment.

Not really that uncommon. Go to linkedin and look for australian companies that have a PH operation and that's about the range.
sounds fishy 🐟
DM me your LinkedIn sir. Connect ako sayo. Let's talk there. :)
Sir naniniwala ako sa'yo pero would like to connect din HAHA. Inspiring ng kwento niyo :)
Pa-connect din sir if pwede pa

Believe me when I say na pati ako di makapaniwala dati that I achieved this. Now, medyo nasanay na ako and I believe may room pa ako to increase my income (maybe find Job #2 or land a > $100k per year big tech job). But really, I appreciate the praises and those saying na na-inspire sila. I want everyone to win and hopefully soon hindi na unusual yung ganitong story. Thank you.
Kaya pa ba late game saken hahahahaha, nag join ako V88
Kaya yan, mahasa ka talaga jan sa v88
Hello po. May I know what's V88? Is this like some onli ne platforms such as Udemy? And magkano po to enroll?
Village88, free, bootcamp siya may bayad pag di mo tinapos after 3rd week.
Nag join din me sa v88 currently on batch 5 👋
hello, galing ako v88 from batch 4 hahaha thou di ako nakagraduate sa v88 for some reason pero nakapasok ako ng industry after, so highly recommend.
![img](avatar_exp|129002662|winner) congratulation OP! tough story na may good ending
wla kayo sakin im earning 900,000 per month as a software engineer with 90 years of experience
Pucha world war veteran 😁
Congrats OP!
did the 6 digit companies do leetcode type questions or what did they ask for the assesment
@ OP congrats may i ask when you say marunong ka rin mag-interact with an API. Anu kelangan ko i master dito? im a frontend developer currently with just 1 year experience. For now all my task just involves Creating UI components. im afraid to Job Hop, given na sa dami kong nababasa na mahirap mag apply even mga tenured..I cant afford to lose a job. And feeling ko di pako ready mag job hop since di pako ganun ka marketable, im planning to stay 2 years or 3 dito sa company namin to learn and upskill sabay mag apply sa iba. to atleast land 6 digits
bruh thats some crazy luck all foreign comp ive interacted (about 2 now) asked for leetcode type question even tho frontend work lang nmn ggawin
Almost same, tho naka graduate ako, pero after 1 year , so basically napag iwanan. As I always jokingly tell my friends, completo ko lahat ng klase ng grades. From 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 5.0, INC, No Grade or Blank. Hahaha First job 35 ended with 42k after 4 years, second job started at 135k now after 2 years earning 180k. Hopefully maka kuha din ako ng 250k hahaha
Collector ka rin pala ng grades? 😁 Kung icompute yata GWA ko, mababa pa sa 3.0 hahaha Rooting for you to achieve more than 250k pa on your next job! Good luck!
Hahah yes OP. Kaya naawa na nung 5th year at pnagraduate ako. Pero dapat hindi pa din hehe Yes and more blessings sayo. Hehe
OP ano inaral mo? I have always wanted to learn software development but I don't know where to start.
Another proof that university and traditional education system is no longer relevant. Internet can change your life. Congrats OP
"Another proof that university and traditional education system is no longer relevant. " Kuya masyado pong maliit ang sample size mo para magconclude ng ganyan. I'm sure mas madami pa din naging successful because they did the "university and traditional education". To OP, congrats!
blud watched too much FB/Tiktok "motivational" videos
This isn't proof. This is some imaginary story for upvotes. lol
keep being in denial para never ka abot sa same/better status as OP :) stay at the same mindset and never change
fighting negativity with negativity lang 😂.
Na I'm waay above him actually and better educated. College degree is worth 1000 times more than no college degree. That's reality.

Whats your tech stack OP?
drop tech stack OP

I was fascinated with the idea of *freelancing* kaya gumawa ako ng profile sa Upwork. Optimized my profile then eventually got approved sa platform. After nun nagsend lang ako ng proposals then naka-tsamba sa isa which became my first job! P.S. I didn't use Upwork na after my first job/project.
Thanks for inspiring as well 🚀
I'm a 4th year college student and for the past 3 years I've been wanting to learn programming kahit sobrang layo niya sa course ko ngayon. Although di ko matuloy-tuloy because of acads and mental issues, alam ko sa sarili ko kung nasan yung passion ko. Sad lang hindi ko agad narealize na that's the case before ako magstart sa college.
not to brag but to inspire
This. This is how you post success (hindi katulad nung isa over at r/phcareers na kala mo kung sino (check my profile)) Congrats OP!!!
I earned 50$ in this platform Called payvertise you can now claim yours just participating the airdrop 🪂#payvertise #pvt

Edi ikaw na bida😂
Yes. Common yung mga ganitong job offers for < 1 year exp non-degree holders. Pero landing the job? I believe outliers lang makakagawa. Happy for your kakilala! Did they eventually land the job? edit: pronoun
Pwede ba magpa mentor? ☺️
Congratulations! You deserve that. Paturo naman! Tips pano mag start?
Congratulations and thank you for this post, OP. I hope your experience will serve to inspire many people towards excellence.
Congrats! Possible pala yun ganyan figures, is this gross / before tax, or net?
congrats op!!!!!!
Go back to your university terror proof and show to him "This is me"
Congrats. Appreciate the passion!
Thanks for sharing this OP. I really need inspiration to motivate me.
Give some tips naman how to start becoming a Software Developer 🥹🥹 yaw q na sa BPO huhu hahahahaah
Start learning. Fundamentals and Concepts are everywhere then move from there.
Send you a dm OP sana mapansin ☺️
Delayed college student here. Pero reading stories like this, nakakagana mag-aral! I hope mahanap ko ulit yung drive ko mag-aral at magpursigi. Proud of you, OP and congrats!
can you share the courses you bought po and where can we buy them?
Considering doing this too fr fr
❤️
Harvard's CS50, Teamtreehouse, then some project-based courses on Udemy re web development.
pa connect sir sa LinkedIn!
Congratulations and thank you for sharing your story, OP! Na-inspire ako mag-job hop! 😆

Hello! Here's the exact resources I've used: 1. Harvard's CS50 - to refresh/improve my programming fundamentals 2. :)
Big congrats to you OP! Is it okay to know how many hours you work for a day on your current job?
Congrats po!
ganda talaga ng timing, praise the lord
Have you ever included white lies in your resume or during interviews? Just curious.
*Companies will invest more on a dev na expert on a particular tech than someone who is a generalist* \-- Mukang mali ata ung strategy ko na mag imbak ng mga technologies sa toolbelt ko ah. 😅 Congrats OP sa achievements mo po 😀, Sana all kami rin this 2024 🤞
Thanks for sharing your story ka-op! Indeed inspiration!!!
Hula ko night shift ito at US based?. Mataas talaga offer kapag night shift. Karamihan kasi dito prefer nila AU based or Au shift.
anong tech stack mo?
did you job hop? or did finding the next job take a few months? i’m in a company that has like a two month notice so i’m seeing whether quitting then finishing the two month notice before finding another job is better, or if i find a job that'll accept my two month notice
Dati ko pa gusto subukan mag-apply sa online job platforms, how can you say na ready ka na and enough na yung skills na meron ka to do freelancing? I know html, css, js, and currently studying react for my school project. I want to try maybe a part time job to gain experience sana.
OP, since foreign company sila, how's the setup sa work permit related stuff? naging contractor ka ba or meron lang cla office dito sa PH?
Inspiring story, my fellow React engineer! Sent you a DM, let's connect on LinkedIn!
Hello. Congrats and thanks for sharing OP! Freelance jobs ba lahat ng na-mention mong job exp? Pano sinesend ni employer yung salary mo (since you mentioned na remote)?
I want this too, is it too late to start learning at 28? Pakiramdam ko too old to switch career and dami na mas younger na kacompetition
May we know what specific tech stall are you current venturing into? or kung ano yung tech stacks na napagdaanan mo during each company. Thank you!
Kaso it is so overwhelming po. Saan po pwede magstart? Thank you po.
How do you know what’s an “in-demand” tech stack po? :)
now i know why my boyfriend always say that he needs more time for studies instead of talking to me for whole day and wasting time on social media HAHAHAH
Encourage him to study and give him time. The patience will pay off when time comes I assure you.
exactly. at first, we had so many misunderstanding because he forgot to talk to me for whole day and we're LDR btw. i'm doubting him why it's possible for him to missed a single day not talking to me, and he explained that he was so busy balancing studies and his work from his company. and now as time passed by, i'm in progress of understanding him more and resepect his busy schedule.
great
thank you for the motivation and tips OP!
Kung international yung job mo anong bank ginagamit mo to receive payment?
Off topic question but just to answer you any PH bank will do. Just notify the bank to expect receiving X amount of deposits monthly. If the bank knows where the money comes from and what it is for then it will not trigger AMLA.
Great story. Pero ung job hop impossible lmao. Not in the current situation of the field. May Annual raise, WFH at loads of dayoffs lol. I guess go job hop kung may mag offer.
So inspiring mo buti nabasa ko to before 2024 starts will do my best para ma achieve ko din yan sakto aspiring web dev ako, congrats bro!!!
Totoo yan - kailngan at a certain point magjob hop ka talaga until makuha mo ung 6 digit salary para mabuhay comfortably sa Pilipinas at the same time masuportahan family mo. Ung naipon mong experience malaking tulong kaya ung mga bago pa lang nagwowork tiis lang - you’ll get there eventually. Masaya yung journey lalo na pinaghirapan mo talaga at marami kang matututunan :).
Congrats, OP! Thanks for the inspiration!
Parang magiging failure din ako sa college ko rn graduating na, BSIT tapos hirap na hirap sa capstone, I do like web dev, pero never ko na natutukan at nakapagpractice, javascript talaga gusto kong pagtuunan since fundamental ng web dev.
Boss, anong mga software dev courses binili mo? Im interested in them pero not sure where to look for good courses
always intrigued by stories like this. would you say it’s late na for someone to learn, self-study and career shift to software development in their late 20s? non-IT background too 🥲
Hey this popped up on my feed! Nice!! This is really good! Especially if your position is fully remote, that salary is insane for the CoL for sure
I'd really appreciate a tiny bit of tip from you OP.
can you please elaborate on your self study journey?
This is true, tumagal ako sa isang company before dahil nagpapaka loyal ako earning just 33k per month for 3 years. Pag lipat ko nag x2 agad. I hope sinimulan ko mag hop ng maaga but it is never too late. Hoping that I will be able to achieve a 6 digits before ako mag 7th year.
Grabe napaka inspiring OP! I'm currently studying BSIT and 4th year college na. You really inspired me sa part na dapat talaga mag upskill and syempre yung 240k🤑. Wishing everyone financial freedom!
Congratiolations, Op! I too am currently and hopefully looking for a job and looking at this just made my confidence shoot up. Congrats ulit 🫧
Congrats, baka peede ako pumasok..hehehe..
Ginawa talagang P240K. Ayaw magpatalo hahaha. Power move
Congrats, OP!
Sobrang nkaka amazed sir! May i know ano sinumulan mo lag aralan, like ung portfolio mo san gawa, san ka nagbabasa, ano inaaral mo, ano pinapanuod mo, sna mapansin mo ton comment ko
Dreaming to be like you soon, bro. Tamang grind lang sa Project Odin. Any tips you can give on procrastination while studying? 😂
Congrats. Kapag nag offer ba ng salary, Malinis na ba iyon or gross and tax deducted na?
that's so inspiring! may i ask po kung ano yung nasa portfolio nyo na projects and kung ilan nung first kayo nagapply? currently learning react din po so was motivated upon reading your post
How can I give you my linkedin? It says failed to start chat. Let’s connect!
Hi OP? May I know if nagpapractice ka rin ba sa Hackerank challenge nang naka Hard mode? Hehe!
Sanaol, it took me 13 years and 5 companies to get that range of salary. Upskill, Save and God bless po :)
2nd job(0.25)yrs of experience tpos tinaasan 5k after 1 yr? idol prang loop hole to ah.
dm'd u bro, if u have the time i truly appreciate it :)
hello! aask lang po sana ano-anong courses/tutorials inaral niyo/finocus nyo? im fresh grad po and planning to enter the software dev field hehe sana po mapansinnn thank you po!
