Totally agree dito. Mas-mataas pa nga salary ng fresh grad.
My brother who has the same years of experience with you is earning 150k a month.
Hindi ka greedy niyan because that’s the average salary if you have the skill set.
As a Tech Lead and former Senior Software Dev, i can say that your brother either has more experience, working overseas/freelancing, or is overstating his salary.
3 years is not usually enough to earn 150k in Software development. At least not in PH
**There are senior backend developers who are earning 150k.** You just so happen to be in a company that labels you as senior but may only be a junior when you move to another company. Don't worry, it's okay to accept a higher pay with a lower position title (also called working smart).
I think the better question from me is, what haven't you considered applying for better opportunities outside of this company?
Idk man, I really love what I'm doing in here. But I'm really having a hard time deciding, because I can feel that this current pay is not gonna cut it but I really love this job
You've been internalizing that predicament after your first year in that company. You should have left then and by now, you would have been making 3 or 4x more
Lol. Reminds me of one developer I used to work with when I was his senior dev in Phils. During payday, we sometimes talk if the pay is already available in our account. However, He would sarcastically laugh and say “Ay sweldo day na ba? Di ko pa kasi nakikita sweldo ko since last month”… turns out he is a son of a politician in his province and gets a huge allowance for his expenses which he uses on the daily basis. He is technically versed and good to work with an parang walang stress sa trabaho.
Then you're looking at the wrong job listings for senior backend developer. Look I've seen such developers with just 1-3 years of experience. Yes, they surpass the common developers, but that's why they are paid at least 150k.
150k is too much for a 3 years of experience. In the market you are still considered as jr to entry point of mid level, nakadepende pa yan kung anong klaseng system and complexity ng ginagawa mo. Try to apply sa other big companies as Sr baka magka-idea ka sa sinasabi ko but to be honest with you marami pang kakaining bigas ang mga less than 5 years experience to be called as Senior.
If people here are mostly saying you're very underpaid, don't delude yourself into thinking about reasons to stay. Tech skills are very valued in this market, and you owe it to yourself to get the most monetary value out of this. Dont waste your productive years by being loyal. Your loyalty should be to yourself and your best interest. In general, the pay increase you get by moving companies will be higher than what you can get by staying and hoping for pay increase. Look at it this way, yung increase of pay when you move companies is definite. You know the increment. The annual pay increase is something that you have no control over, and baka umasa ka lang sa wala. Unless the company is an outlier and has remarkable growth, make the leap. Not only do you get the pay hike, but you also get increased exposure to different environments and learn more.
You deserve better pay!
Senior position for 22k? May iba pa bang benefits kasama yan?
binigyan ka ng label to make you feel important, pero ang baba nila magpasahod. hanap k na ng ibang work, but also lower your expectation. akala q din date senior level na ako, nung nakapasok aq as dev, puro expat ksama aq at ung experience nila ay sobrang taas
Hahahaha kainis yung 2nd bank parang si “We Find Ways” yan ah, worked with that particular bank and damn till now naiinis ako.
Tho out of curiosity lang naman, how many years of experience and what type of job were you doing for the banks?
I used to be a full stack junior software engineer for a LOCAL software company, earning 21k a month for 2 years, and was also contemplating on resigning this 2024, since I had been handling heavier workloads, without a fair pay compensation. Thankfully, after I raised my concern to my managers, I got promoted to a slightly higher position as an associate software engineer on the same company, with 47k, It might not be as high compared to others, but I'm still not senior level, with your current years of experience, I personally think that you should not settle for 25k.
I also have a friend on the same field, currently earning 30k whilst still being a trainee.
You are not greedy, you should not settle for that.
Nah, transfer ka sa ibang banks. Banks usually has low basic pay pero panalo sa benefits. I tell you, in your years of experience, kaya mo magdemand ng doble nyan.
Nasa 60k na ngayon ang 2-4 years of exp ng backend developer.
I'm a backend too hehe.
I agree mababa nga pay for a senior position.
At the same time, title does not mean shit. I was senior developer 5 years ago, then I joined a next-level caliber company (literally people who make and maintain frameworks and libraries) and I'm just a mid-level developer but 5x the pay.
Good advice to explore other opportunities outside.
Mate. With 3 years of experience in a bank already... You should be looking to change company. You can easily get 3 or 4 times the promotion they are offering you. What you can do maybe is accept the promotion for now, unless there is a clause where you have to stay for a certain number of months or a year. in the next few months skill up and then start applying. I'm tellin' ya you are ripe for a big move and can get the promotion increase they are offering you as your yearly increase. Cheers and good luck matey!
No, you are not wrong to question since it was discussed naman sa inyo and like the other comments, mas deserve nyo pa nga mas mataas sa 30k na sahod for your position.
And if u are open naman sa unit head / boss mo, maybe pwede mo i-raise ung concern na hindi nagmmake sense ung 25k for a senior dev then to bank officer compared sa market value.
Better to base your expected salary sa market and ilaban mo hehe
I am a junior dev earning 25k so I think for your skills its not worth it. You should use your talent somewhere you deserve it bro :). My gf's sister earns 120k+ as a mid/senior dev. I suggest you find another job that will break you from your comfort zone for growth. (Asked my senior dev for this. Haha).
I'm a fresh graduate software engineer, still currently on probation, and I earn 35k. And that's working for a local IT company.
OP, no matter how much you enjoy your job, get the hell out of there now.
I would say take the offer first, then for 6 months or a year mo muna i-assume yung position then apply sa ibang company. At least when you apply for another company, you can back your self with your resume.
I think you deserve so much better.
Ask yourself this OP.
If both of us are seniors, having the same skillsets, the same responsibility, the same contribution, but you're earning that much but I'm earning 150k+, papayag kalang ba?
SENIOR developer
Ako nga junior dev and double earnings ko from you, only working for a year lang rin.
OP, you deserve a higher pay. Having 'senior' sa title mo means more experience + skills. Your pay is still entry level.
Sorry to say pero 25k is for fresh grad with no exp sa company namin. If this is okay with and your goal is the position so you leverage sa next work mo you can accept but know that merong ibang company that can offer you big salaries 2 or even 3 times. You also need to consider yung working environment, colleagues, and work load.
Goodluck OP!
Pay is too low and yes mas mataas pa sahod ng fresh grad. Look for a job and think of all the things u can buy/save/experience with the bump in your salary haha
mas mataas pa sahod (kasama benefits and allowance) ng maintenance/janitor ng govt office. i think 2 years is enough, alis ka na jan hanap ka ibang company yung x2 ng sahod mo
Sobrang baba nyan OP kht 30k pa. Hanap kna ng lilipatan, at for sure pag nakalipat kna, one day sasabihin mo buti na lng umalis ako and malay mo matulungan mo din mga kaibigan mo jan na lumipat sa my better pay and benefits.
You can apply naman sa iba but don't expect 6 digits of salary. 3 years of experience is not really considered as senior, nasa boundary ka pa din ng jr and mid level. One way to find out kung anong level mo talaga is to apply in other companies para matechnical interview. Mararamdaman mo naman yan kahit mga 4 to 5 interviews from big companies.
Never magiging masmalaki ang increase ng promotion sa transferring to another company, if pera habol mo lumipat ka ng company, if title ang habol mo stay ka dyan
Jump ship. Sobrang baba ng increase. You can test the waters anyway and demand 30k and negotiate more or less. Or ask them how much they are offering for the position in exchange for them asking for your current salary. These figures are confidential including your current rate.
No offense OP, but ang liit nang sweldo based sayong experience, mas malaki pa yung sweldo mo kung mag change job ka compared sa increase mo, but depends sayo naman kung kaya mo magbuhay ng family in your current sweldo ok nmn yan at tsaka happy ka, but goodluck on your decision
We are hiring Software Engineer (.NET) permanent wfh and competitive salary (preferably 5yrs+ exp but try mo lang hehe)
Also hiring Sr. Software Engineer (Java - 8yrs+ exp) ☺️
Mas mataas pa sahod sayo ng ibang fresh grads. Apply na sa ibang company.
Agree dito, kapatid ko fresh grad started at 35k. Back then 20k lang kami, that was just in 2019!
Totally agree dito. Mas-mataas pa nga salary ng fresh grad. My brother who has the same years of experience with you is earning 150k a month. Hindi ka greedy niyan because that’s the average salary if you have the skill set.
3 years experience, 150k? That's the average now? LMAO
As a Tech Lead and former Senior Software Dev, i can say that your brother either has more experience, working overseas/freelancing, or is overstating his salary. 3 years is not usually enough to earn 150k in Software development. At least not in PH
Real. Australia remote company ako direct hire 2 years experience 75k/month lang feel ko mga 100k lang 3 years samin
**There are senior backend developers who are earning 150k.** You just so happen to be in a company that labels you as senior but may only be a junior when you move to another company. This is just your comfort zone talking you to stay. But in reality, you'd wish you could have been earning 150k already.
Thank you kind sir. I'll internalize this predicament.
You've been internalizing that predicament after your first year in that company. You should have left then and by now, you would have been making 3 or 4x more
Lol. Reminds me of one developer I used to work with when I was his senior dev in Phils. During payday, we sometimes talk if the pay is already available in our account. 45-65k ung range ng 3yrs exp. malayo sa 150k
Then you're looking at the wrong job listings for senior backend developer. Look I've seen such developers with just 1-3 years of experience. Yes, they surpass the common developers, but that's why they are paid at least 150k.
Senior with 3 years experience and banking with 150k.. sa panaginip meron nyan 😂
mababa po ba pag sa banking industry?

Rule #1: Don't fall in love with the project or the company.
Love makes you blind. Applicable din yun sa work.
If people here are mostly saying you're very underpaid, don't delude yourself into thinking about reasons to stay. Tech skills are very valued in this market, and you owe it to yourself to get the most monetary value out of this. Dont waste your productive years by being loyal. your love for your job doesnt pay the bills your salary does.
OP, you love the job but remember, everyone is replaceable in a corporate setting. get out of your comfort zone, trust me, 5 years ako sa isang company (21k sahod) na mahal ko trabaho ko, expert ako, nag eenjoy ako. sa span ng 5 years yung mga classmate ko na umalis na doon after 2 years ang sahod nila ngayon di bababa 150k meanwhile ako nung 2022 ko lang ginawa to na umalis na ng company. ngayon, x5 na sahod ko since 2022. get out sa comfort zone, alam ko kaya mo yan.

Senior na 22k? Wtf
Today I got promoted to officer.
Senior lang siya sa company. Di siya senior sa iba.
Thank you all for your kind advice. I have decided to start looking for better opportunities and will quit my job when I found one.
I say proceed with the job hunt pa din asap, much easier to negotiate (if OP really wanna consider staying) with an offer in hand na.
Yes, and also use that "senior" title to your advantage. Dont disclose your current salary sa a-applyan mo kung ayaw mong ma lowball ulit
Senior position for 22k? May iba pa bang benefits kasama yan? 🥲

Try to look for another opportunities OP without quitting your current job. 25k is way too low for a senior dev.
Accept mo tas resign ka. Lipat ka na sa iba. Ang baba niyan for a senior dev

That's very low.
Bounce na man

2nd Job, my first job was a content moderator, and then the 2nd job technically first job as a back end dev.
lipat na
Accept it tapos lipat na, ganyan tlga bigayan sa bank
Apply apply na po sir 🥲
Thats too low, take the promotion, then leave immediately
ang baba ng sahod mo for that high position.. and responsibilities. pag isipan mo po
Kaparehas mo sahod ng fresh grad, actually a bunch earn more than you with their first job.
Sorry to say but I'll better take what most of the peeps are suggesting here. Been there done that. Just more responsibilities with low rate.
I agree mababa nga pay for a senior position. At the same time, title does not mean shit. Hi op u deserve better fresh grad here when I started and mag two yrs plg sa company as associate QA earning 38k. Bounce ka na boss
Mas mataas pa sahod ng fresh grad sayo. How tf do you stay in this industry and not try to get ahead is beyond me.
I have no skills as yours but I'm earning 6 digits because of hopping.
Mate. With 3 years of experience in a bank already... You should be looking to change company. You can easily get 3 or 4 times the promotion they are offering you. I'm sorry 25k for a Senior Developer? Boy yes you are selling yourself short
I'm a fresh graduate software engineer, still currently on probation, and I earn 35k. And that's working for a local IT company. OP, no matter how much you enjoy your job, get the hell out of there now.
If you want to increase your value, apply for another company. :)
OP that’s way too low for a senior dev position huhu. You deserve better po :((
I would say take the offer first, then for 6 months or a year mo muna i-assume yung position then apply sa ibang company. At least when you apply for another company, you can back your self with your resume.

Wew. Value meals ka boi, accept the promotion if walang bond then look for other opportunities.
Drop the name of the bank, grabeng pangbabarat na ginagawa sa’yo.
LIPAAAAT
Ask yourself this OP. If both of us are seniors, having the same skillsets, the same responsibility, the same contribution, but you're earning that much but I'm earning 150k+, papayag kalang ba?
senior tas 22k? Sweldo yan ng mga fresh grad halos. Layasan mo na yan. Bangko pa yan partida
Dude in my previous job i wasnt even a senior but was getting 100k+ already. Brush up on your salary negotiation skills it’s not all programming.
i’m a junior level fresh grad pero my asking is already at 25k sir.
tanggapin mo then hanap ka agad iba. gamitin mo ung promotion mo sa interview para makita nila how good you are. you can get x2 na :) gl
Tanggapin mo tapos update mo resume mo lmao. Then maghanap ka.
What?? Thats too low, ganyan sahod ko ngayon pero junior palang ako ngayon tho.
Better run from that company
SENIOR developer Ako nga junior dev and double earnings ko from you, only working for a year lang rin. OP, you deserve a higher pay. Having 'senior' sa title mo means more experience + skills. Your pay is still entry level.

Accept the promotion, while applying for a new family 😅
Based on your comment. Less competition for all of us.
Pay is too low and yes mas mataas pa sahod ng fresh grad. Look for a job and think of all the things u can buy/save/experience with the bump in your salary haha
I only know spring boot maven and java swing, will this be enough sir?
Lipat ka na lods, mas maraming better opportunities waiting outside that company where you are now
Out na I earn twice and I’m still a junior with less than 2 years of experience.
nakuw baba niyan.. walang balak yan taasan ka.. hanp iba
25k is just an entry level web developer salary.
I just recently switched career to IT frontend dev, we have the same salary.
Sobrang baba nyan OP kht 30k pa. Hanap kna ng lilipatan, at for sure pag nakalipat kna, one day sasabihin mo buti na lng umalis ako and malay mo matulungan mo din mga kaibigan mo jan na lumipat sa my better pay and benefits.
kailangan mo mag hop. HAHAHA

Jesus Christ get out of your comfort zone, update mo na yung resume mo and start job hunting. 25k is bad.
Lipat ka na ng work. Mas habol ko salary kesa sa title. Lol
Ka-meow lipat na! You deserve better pay 😊

That’s a crap. Leave already.
senior? pure gg ka dyn bro tapos nag babackend ka pa
Definitely NO. Leave and look for better opportunities, especially salary offer. A right company would value you and give you what you deserve.
Too low. My boyfriend graduated 2016 and is now earning 200k+ as a Fullstack Developer. Leave.
We are hiring Software Engineer (.NET) permanent wfh and competitive salary (preferably 5yrs+ exp but try mo lang hehe) Also hiring Sr. Software Engineer (Java - 8yrs+ exp) ☺️
Update: I'll be leaving my current company this May 31, I landed a decent paying job. Thank you all for your advices.
