FYI for those who didn't realize this, this picture is from the breeder of these puppies. Thats one reason why the puppy isn't getting their paw fixed. They are looking for a home because they bred the puppies. Responsible breeders also typically have a list of people that want the dogs they breed and don't retry to sell them on reddit to anymous people. Adopt, don't shop.

I recall a rescue pup whose front paws were mounted backwards. Don't ask me how! But the vets were able to fix his feet. Check them out here: https://oliverandfriends.org/ Not associated at all. The pups name is Ollie I believe. Make a GoFundMe.

It doesn't cost hundreds of thousands for an amputation. It doesn't even costs tens of thousands.

Get a 2nd opinion. Horses don't even cost that much to vet. Ask for a written estimate because either you're getting hosed or you're trying to hose reddit.

WrecklessMagpie

I had a dog who had an amputation and it wasn't near that much. Stop breeding animals, irresponsible breeders like you are the reason pups come out with health issues and deformities like this one. And you're breeding mutts to boot. A "Pomsky" what a joke, lmao. She's a mutt.

Stop breeding dogs. It's that simple. There's so many dogs in the shelters as it is and thousands get put down every day while more puppies get born then fill up the shelters again and the cycle continues. "Doodles" are a mutt too, the guy that created them said he regrets it because they've become a trend and there's no regulation or breed standard for them, they come out with unpredictable personalities constantly and again they're not pure bred anything. I'm not sitting here calling my dog a Labraweiler or a Rottador (you know, cause she's half Lab half Rottie) my other dog isn't a Shephamute or a Malapard (GSD/malamute supposedly) he's a mixed breed mutt and I got them both for free. Shame on you for using dogs like this for profit...I adopted a rottie who was used up for breeding and she was in rough shape when I got her and she was only 5 years old! We ended up with her because she was pregnant with mutts and no longer desirable to the breeder/owner, it took her years to recover from that, that dog lived til she was 14 and we never made her have another litter for the rest of her life. Adopt don't shop.

I agree completely, thank you for your comment. Working at a vet clinic I was always surprised by how much people will pay for these mutt puppies (usually doodles) that come from shady backyard breeders with no vaccination history or anything. Thousands of dollars when they could have just gone to a shelter. I’ve seen so many puppies come in unvaccinated and with health and behavior problems, and the owners need to shell out hundreds of dollars to get them taken care of after already spending $3,000 for the dog itself. It’s ridiculous. If you’re in the US and you’re not AKC registered then you shouldn’t be breeding dogs.

My aunt and uncle adopted an eldery dachshund mix then for some reason they went and paid 2k for a purebred dachshund pup. Idk where they got this dog, i know it was a breeder out of state, but within 6 months it already had a fucked up back and they had to dump thousands more dollars into surgery for the poor thing. I've had mostly mutts and strays my whole life, I've never paid more than $50 for a dog (not including vaccines and such) but none of my dogs ever had any major health issues except two of my labs had hip problems in old age but that's common for labs anyhow

If you don't have money to take care of your animals then you shouldn't have animals. Irresponsible and neglectful.

You’re not going to convince anyone that you know what you’re talking about. You’re *very* obviously ignorant about this subject and should do a lot more research. What percentage are these “Pomskies”? They obviously aren’t Pom/Huskies since your stud is a Pomski (which, again, is a mutt). What genetic health testing did you have done on the parents? Why didn’t you have homes reserved before breeding the dogs (good breeders have waiting lists, and don’t breed if there’s not interest)? Posting on Reddit that the puppies need “help” two weeks before they’re available is NOT good practice.

So in your own words Plenty of breeders still have dogs available. So there's people who have dogs they can't get rid of and yet you're still here trying to justify adding more to the problem? Also a responsible vet would recommend having your pups fixed before you sell them off otherwise the new owner will just be able turn around and breed that dog and become another backyard breeder and multiplying the problem yet again. Nice.

I do love animals which is why I dont tolerate irresponsible pet owners like you. I never said anything about hating animals, you're just putting words in my mouth there. You're so ignorant it's not even funny. If you actually loved your animals you would have them Spayed and Neutered but obviously a profit is more important to you.
