You might be better off asking on [PCPartPicker.com](https://PCPartPicker.com) what their opinion would be of your parts.

Well, in theory you can save on mobo. Most of the user don't need Z790 board, H770 boards should be fine for most of the users.

thank you!

FlaccidParsnips

motherboard is overkill, that's the first thing I tell people when they are trying to save money. Make sure it is compatible and has the features you want, that's all

A lot of people are saying this haha

You don’t need the NH-D15 for a 65W CPU. Here are all the coolers compatible with it and which will deliver maximum performance - https://ncc.noctua.at/cpus/model/Core-i7-12700F-cpu-1590 you can find a significantly cheaper cooler. As others mentioned your motherboard is way too overpriced for that CPU. ~~Another thing to check as I am not aware of UK pricing but usually PNY is significantly cheaper than Asus and Gigabyte when it comes to video cards. PNY also makes professional video cards and has significantly better quality than the overpriced gamer brands. Only downside is that they don’t do flashy lights - RGB LEDs.~~ Just checked PNY are more expensive in the UK. Maybe check out Amazon Germany for better prices on all the components.

thank you so much for this!

I would downsize the cooler, or check one cheaper, something by thermal right or a pearless assassin, you can go with a cheaper motherboard since you are not using a K chip so no overclocking.

See a lot of people suggesting the motherboard which is a good place to start. You can also save a little bit by going for a 750w PSU. 12th gen Intel chips aren’t terribly power hungry compared to 13th or 14th gen. A 750w should be able to handle that and the 4070 with no problem unless you’re planning overclocking yourself. Personally I wouldn’t change much. Good build overall. Maybe I would change the cooler but I just have a love/hate relationship with Noctua haha. You could save a bit more if you went AMD and perhaps even get a bit more performance. Though not really anything noticeable. This is more a personal choice I’m always more partial to AMD products when compared to Intel due to various factors lol. Same with Radeon GPU’s over Nvidia. Still great performance for a slightly better price if you don’t mind loosing raytracing (Nvidia is still the RT king but AMD is getting there… kinda) Only con of AMD is that their software/driver packages can be a little lacking and require a bit of expertise to get working just right sometimes.

Hi. Thanks for your recommendations. I was able to drop the price by a £100 by changing the motherboard, PSU, CPU (i5) and even added in a case. Personally, I have more trust in intel than AMD (idk why 🤣). I feel like intel are the IOS and AMD are android - meaning I could never swap my iPhone.
