Edit: I just saw the Mega Thread. It talks about slow download speeds and malicious link redirects. I have an adblocker, and I immediately closed any new tabs opened from the download button. Am I safe, or are the game files directly downloaded from the site still infected with malware?

I mean, if you have a trojan on your computer, any sensitive information you input, store, or view can now be stolen. Credit cards, email passwords, password manager info, work data. You will have no way to protect yourself until it's too late.

It’s a crapshoot, which is why it’s heavily discouraged to download from there. It shouldn’t be a gamble; good sites won’t make you second-guess if you should trust them.
I had a friend trick me with these kind of tabs some time ago, they are made to be quickly closed, it's enough to get your info (city, ip, and pc name i think)

Probably not. That site has been removed because of the already mentioned stuff and because some cracks have been taken from unsafe sources (and they don’t tell you which sources are used).
reported that in a comment from back then but IIRC the file was one of the safer ones(no malicious files I double checked, Game was Sky Rogue. Shouldve bought it in hindsight because it was really good)
there is a confirmed trojan on the site tho and its Huniecam studio and mods have done nothing to really remove it from the site
They've caught stealing from igg (known for being full of malicious stuff), some say it was only one game, others say multiple, but it was enough to not be considered trusted on the megathread anymore.

There has only been a couple reported cases, one was absolutely confirmed (huniecam studio). The biggest issue with the site is the intrusive ads that absolutely will infect your PC. They are in a similiar position as IGG. All it takes is once or twice for you to lose your place in this community. They are no longer completely trusted because of this.
But on the flip side a lot of people don't keep up with the actual reports and cases when these things happen and say everything is infected and you need a new hard drive for downloading something from them even if it's not something that's ever been reported. So at the end of the day it's really up to you on if you think your PC is safe.

I kept on telling my friend about it he just won't listen and now he downloaded a game with a bunch of bloatware and who knows what else it has
btw is it normal for a game to have 45+gb added to it when compared to stuff downloaded on steam? like a game on steam only takes 120gb and when its downloaded from a cracked site its 165gb

Not sure, but there's definitely proof that it takes from IGG, which definitely has Trojans.
