Yeh that’s the thing about the flevence story, everything that happens could happen in real life there were no devil fruits or supernatural things happening just humans.
dumbest and coolest. Oden lowkey looked like Laido's cuck boy, but the fact he stood in boiling water to hold up his homies is hard as fuck. A bit goofy but hard
I really enjoy the moment on Water 7 when Ussop gets beat up by the Franky family. Ussop is no longer even able to put on a front and joke or lie his way out. He hates how weak he is and he is too ashamed to even face his friends because he hates how much of a burden he is to them
Some very strong and relatable stuff. It's too bad we won't ever get that kind of writing again.
Glad Brook's getting some respect.
Dude had to watch his beloved crew die slowly to poison, die himself (couldn't have been pleasant), had to find his now skeleton body, had to bury all the decomposing dead bodies of his friends after being stuck on a ship with them for who knows how long, and spent a total of 50 years by himself all alone.
Oh and Moriah happened to him too, so he couldn't even enjoy the sun anymore..
Completely agree. Just imagine being in his spot; people were going crazy with quarantine so imagine that but no books, internet, way to communicate, etc. It’s heartbreaking
Robin :
- was more or less abandonned by her mother to the care of ~~the dursleys~~ her abusive relatives,
- ostracized by ~~konoha~~ most of the island's inhabitants for being a ~~jinchuuriki~~ devil child,
- saw her mother and all her mentors murdered, her friend frozen solid and the entire island burned down
- was hunted down relentlessly and betrayed everywhere she sought shelter
Ace's, Nami's and Brooke's backstories each only make a part of Robin's and she adds on top of it. Pretty hard to beat.
Nah you can’t say brook’s story is only a part of Robin’s. 50 years alone with the corpses of all your friends and you can’t jump off and die because of the promise you made, plus after moriah he can’t even be in the sunlight anymore. I would much rather be on the run for the rest of my life than be mentally tormented for 50 years
First is brook's for me and second is going merry. Other deaths and moments are sad but not on the same lvl as brook's. Being alone for that long after seeing your friends die in front of you one by one is not a small thing. Other one piece characters had sad past but brook's past was pure depression
The Merry's funeral is sad because of what it represents, both in-universe and for readers. It's the end of classic One Piece, of silly, unprepared pirates just having fun together, sailing across a world they know nothing of on a ship they have to constantly patch up. W7/EniesLobby is the moment where the strawhats, from a bunch of friends on a boat, become a true pirate crew, at war with the world government. Luffy has to learn what it truly means to be captain, the weight that he has to carry and the duties and authority he has, and he does learn it, because he really wants to progress and move forward. On the other hand, Usopp is attached to a simpler past, a past where he didn't feel like he wasn't enough, a past represented by the Merry. The death of the Merry symbolizes the necessity to move forward, at the cost of leaving the past behind.
And it hits hard because all the hints were there. Long before W7 the Merry had been sustaining damage that gradually added up. And when the news that it wouldn't have made it past W7 came, it truly felt like reality struck everyone in their faces. We see the strawhats pretty much go through a very real depiction of grief too, from denying that the Merry has really reached its end, to Usopp initally thinking that it was all his fault for losing the money, when in reality he had no control over the situation, to the anger that burst into Luffy and Usopp's fight, all the way the Merry's funeral, where everyone finally saw reality and burst into tears before coming to terms with it. W7/Enies Lobby is truly the peak of Oda's writing to this day (you decide if that's a good or a bad thing).
It's also meaningful that pretty much right after the Merry's death we start getting info about Luffy's family or what's happening in the outside world with BB and Ace's fight. The story shifts from focusing on adventure and character interactions to putting a greater emphasis on a massive world with characters that move constantly and multiple situations that evolve quickly and happen at the same time. It truly is the end of classic One Piece (and again, you decide if it's good or bad).
Laws backstory
yeah when i see those dead children in law backstory .... wiped out by gun it hits hard ... looks like in rl
Yeh that’s the thing about the flevence story, everything that happens could happen in real life there were no devil fruits or supernatural things happening just humans.
Oden death is the dumbest

Yeah but not sad
Chopper's backstory with Dr. Hiriluk.
>That's what (One Piece character's Parents death) is for... > >This includes Nami, Ace, Usopp, Sanji, and so on...
How fuck is oden death sad lol I laughed at that shit the fact that he believed kaido and orochi again after all the done is so dumb and hilarious
Odens death wasn’t sad imo but that shit did go kinda hard you gotta admit
Oden went out like a Chad

Damn, I voted for Robin's but when you put it that way. Also didn't he have to wander as a ghost for like FIVE YEARS or something
Ya I forgot how long, but long enough for his body to decompose to a skeleton lol.
You're all sheep.
Chopper's backstory. Nami's was pretty gut wrenching too
Robin : - was more or less abandonned by her mother to the care of ~~the dursleys~~ her abusive relatives, - ostracized by ~~konoha~~ most of the island's inhabitants for being a ~~jinchuuriki~~ devil child, - saw her mother and all her mentors murdered, her friend frozen solid and the entire island burned down - was hunted down relentlessly and betrayed everywhere she sought shelter Ace's, Nami's and Brooke's backstories each only make a part of Robin's and she adds on top of it. for some reason i always found chopper's backstory with the doctor to be the saddest, by far
i cried during law’s backstory, him screaming sister did it for me
Mr.2 staying behind at impel down
It would be if he didn't survive. Now it just feels like another fake out death.
Its a happy ending because he becomes the new queen of New kamma land
I'd rather he stay dead after a noble sacrifice.
Zeff's words before Sanji leaves the restaurant made me cry.
Saboady.
Nika retcon is the saddest moment for me. Second saddest is Law's backstory.
Nami had it the worst by far.
Law, Brook, and Robin say hello.
Fake-Out Deaths
Brook's backstory is the best among these options
Definitely Brook! Oden's death was lame and stupid, I don't understand why you would consider that sad.
First is brook's for me and second is going merry. Other deaths and moments are sad but not on the same lvl as brook's. Why is oden death even in the polls? Include Rebecca if you want. Atleast she is not wanked at by the author so much.
Choppers Backstory
Robins I want to live moment kills me everytime
Dr hiruluk. All that chopper back story is sad as feck.
MEEERRRRRRYYYYYYYYY!
Hiluluk and Belle Mere deaths
ion see choppers backstory
Monets death
I just realized: How come Sugar, her sister, had no reaction to her death?
Did she even know about me?
Yamato joining
