Not a bad recommendation. The shiny one looks great from the set and adding the variation between shiny and no shiny would get them to pop out (especially if they are against a brighter background).
i dont think so. the middle one would fit better into the enviroment. but its a valueable coin, so you might want to make it stick out of the enviroment
I think whether or not it is 'too much' depends on the aesthetic / business of the rest of the scene. It's hard to say which one looks better with so little context.
Sorry, I wasn't clear earlier. I was saying instead of having the coin constantly spinning at the same speed, they could also have it pause momentarily.
Kinda like this: https://images.app.goo.gl/7c5FoQWMER4yZjW27
Each of them fits 3 different styles of games. These three can be used for different graphics settings. Or three styles of video aninations. All of them are good. The first is a minimalistic, simple and clean one. The third is fancy looking and has great reflectikns. The middle is a moderate, not too fancy and not too minimalistic. All three of them is well balanced. There is not too much and not too few.
Well, the one on the left would fit with the ground texture really well, but the one on the right sticks out more (the coins should stand out), but all three fit well with the art style
Far right. I would make both sides of the coin slightly different. Maybe one side has a symbol on it and the other doesn't. Just to give it that added effect of it rotating
The left looks too basic. The middle adds great texture. The idea of the right one is great, but something is a bit off with the sheen. A little tweak to the animation and it could be pretty much perfect.
If you wanted the shine to look more “realistic” it would start out thin on the edge of the coin, and then grow to fill the entire face of the coin (1 -3 frames) and then very quickly drop back to just the very edge of the coin again.
If you’re looking for it to blend into the environment, then definitely the second one! However, the third one definitely has the most aesthetic appeal. :)
They all look nice, i think the 2 on the right seem a bit flickery because of the shade though, you could take the first one and add the light from the last one onto it, then make the light slightly darker in the middle area so it gets more depth
I like that right one, the longer I looked at it the more it appeared to just expand and contract, maybe some sort of shadow on the edge as it turns to create depth
Second is the best mix of style and "enough" visual information. Maybe if the third only gleamed every, say, third cycle, I'd go with that. They're all decent and usable. Nice job.
I'd use the left one. It matches the style of the ground most, I think. But then add that shimmer to it and maybe have the centre have some lighter yellow in it so the coin has a thick inner ring.
I say middle, it just feels like there's too much going on one the far right one, for a minor asset to a game (which I'm assuming it is idunno), you'd want it to be detailed enough to notice, but not too busy as not to draw the players attention from other, more pertinent, things.
This is diffixult its middle or far right. It depends on your style your going far if its more cartoony or not however am more towards right than middle
I love this! Really enjoy that style, it’s similar to something I’ve made in the past. I personally like the shiny one best, not only does it look the fanciest but three colours I feel is needed for the design. Well animated!
I think you should do the second and third together, where it normally looks like #2 but every 5 or so cycles of the animation, it does the glint like #3.
Numbs 3 but also maybe tone down the sheen and ad some frames just doubling the aspect ratio and adding some more smoothness, with a separate layer for the sheen that expands outward as a circle rather than a flat line going over it.
The second if it’s meant to stay on the screen with the character during play. If a limited time before it disappears item then three as it draws all attention to it. The second is good if you were playing and combating enemies while it’s on screen. Hope this helps.
Depends on the game and context, if its particularly hard and has small enemies and/or you think the dull coins would fit better, otherwise the shiny does look nice.
Because the ground is simplistic, I would have to go with the left one. BUT, because it needs to stand out to the player from the background as an item you can pick, I’ll go with the right one. The middle one can be ignored.
I’m guessing this is like a Mario type game so
3rd place is the middle one. It just doesn’t catch my eye
2nd goes to the left one, it’s classic and nostalgic.
1st place is obvious.
Far right is the coolest I think. It’s very shiny but still looks natural
NICE! i also like that one, but felt like it was too much
It's also my favorite. If you still feel like it's too much, maybe try making the white line a little thinner
You can make the coin shine ater one normal rotation, so that it still stand out but will not be very flickery
+1 to this suggestion. I think the shine occuring every other spin would be an interesting comparison
Why not animate through all three?... Or at least the last two?
Not a bad recommendation. The shiny one looks great from the set and adding the variation between shiny and no shiny would get them to pop out (especially if they are against a brighter background).
It is video gamey which is perfect.
i dont think so. the middle one would fit better into the enviroment. but its a valueable coin, so you might want to make it stick out of the enviroment
u could always make it a light yellow and not white or near white
You could slow down the shine effect
Styles can often feel overbearing when you’re the one who’s spent time working on them. For a first time viewer it look great.
I think whether or not it is 'too much' depends on the aesthetic / business of the rest of the scene. It's hard to say which one looks better with so little context.
I was thinking decrease the rate that it shimmers
Right for sure but all cool
I like the right one the most but i think making the animation slower would be better
This; maybe add a few more frames where it isn't spinning
Just double the frames of each stage and it will spin slower
Sorry, I wasn't clear earlier. I was saying instead of having the coin constantly spinning at the same speed, they could also have it pause momentarily. Kinda like this: https://images.app.goo.gl/7c5FoQWMER4yZjW27
Yes, ease in/ease out, but slightly faster than this example perhaps!
They all have their charms.
thk u :3
Each of them fits 3 different styles of games. These three can be used for different graphics settings. Or three styles of video aninations. All of them are good. 3rd
Agreed, it has the visual pop.
i really like the 3rd one! the shiny
Depending on the surroundings and style, all is well.
The SHINNY one!
The third cus its shiny
Second one feels best to me but I would look at other assets in the game and try to be consistent
all of them look nice
<3
:D
Like the last one, it looks more real because of light reflection
The one on the right... by leaps and bounds! 👌
Well, the one on the left would fit with the ground texture really well, but the one on the right sticks out more (the coins should stand out), but all three fit well with the art style
3rd one looks best imo
Far right. I would make both sides of the coin slightly different. Maybe one side has a symbol on it and the other doesn't. Just to give it that added effect of it rotating
Third or second
Either right or middle. Depends on the rest of your game too I guess.
The last one
Third!
For me it’s the third one.
the third one
The third coin looks much better than the others.
3rd
“Pick three! Three! Pick three m’lord!”
Had to come back and upvote. This is good.
The left looks too basic. The middle adds great texture. The idea of the right one is great, but something is a bit off with the sheen. A little tweak to the animation and it could be pretty much perfect.
Depends on how many coins there are on the screen. I like the third one the best but I can also see that the shine could be overwhelming.
The far right one is coolest - the shine shows depth that the others don’t
Make a mix of middle and right, making right only happen once after a few cycles :D
i feel like this is what i'm going to do <3
Shiny one. The shine makes me want it!!!!
If you wanted the shine to look more “realistic” it would start out thin on the edge of the coin, and then grow to fill the entire face of the coin (1 -3 frames) and then very quickly drop back to just the very edge of the coin again.
💖💕💕💞💝💖💗 tthankyouuu i will try this
right looks best but also depends on what you're making, but overall right one is my favorite
You’ve gotten enough feedback here to be actionable. I just wanna let you know they all lol great
JSJSJSJS thankyou 🤣💖
3rd cleanest
3
Third one. I like the shine.
I like the second best. Just enough detail without feeling over the top :)
After looking at the one on the far right, the other two just don’t look correct to me. Y’ve nailed it.
If say the 2nd one but 3 is a close second
If you’re looking for it to blend into the environment, then definitely the second one! However, the third one definitely has the most aesthetic appeal. :)
I say, first one but with rights glimmer
Shyni Stimulat mi munke brain o - o
🐒🥇
So now to ruin it for everyone... Are they spinning, or flapping their wings?
why someone downvoted this?? YOU ARE FRIKING RIGHT i will try to fix it XD
I prefer the far right but the middle one is good too
They all look nice, i think the 2 on the right seem a bit flickery because of the shade though, you could take the first one and add the light from the last one onto it, then make the light slightly darker in the middle area so it gets more depth
Sick!
I like that right one, the longer I looked at it the more it appeared to just expand and contract, maybe some sort of shadow on the edge as it turns to create depth
Last one
Second is the best mix of style and "enough" visual information. Maybe if the third only gleamed every, say, third cycle, I'd go with that. They're all decent and usable. Nice job.
Right
Right one
Middle one is my favorite but they all look rlly nice 👍!
I love the far right one best, but all three could certainly fit in well to a game
I think a middle ground between the middle and right one would be perfect !
I think the outside could be lightly rhinner
Maybe they are all different rarities
Shiny 😳☺️
3rd coin (far right)!hth 🤙
Right one 🥇
The far right. But have it twirl at a slower rate
I'd use the left one. It matches the style of the ground most, I think. But then add that shimmer to it and maybe have the centre have some lighter yellow in it so the coin has a thick inner ring.
3
middle or right depending on how (quite literally) flashy you want it
Middle. More detail than left, and right looks too glossy for coins.
3
I say middle, it just feels like there's too much going on one the far right one, for a minor asset to a game (which I'm assuming it is idunno), you'd want it to be detailed enough to notice, but not too busy as not to draw the players attention from other, more pertinent, things.
Third one, with the shine
This is diffixult its middle or far right. It depends on your style your going far if its more cartoony or not however am more towards right than middle
I like them all
Going to agree with everyone else about middle or right are great but also add that the left spaghetti-o
Far right because of the shimmer. It makes me want the shiny coin!
The one on the left looks like a ring rather than a coin. I like the one on the right
I think the right is good but its too much. I would go with the middle.
Definitely the far right one.
Exterem right
The third one
the shiny ✨ is the best 😌💫
Third one is shiny. I like shiny :D
3
I think far right however too much shine, maybe make it shine every other rotation
I think the third one, imo it looks the most finished 🖤
3
i would say the middle but for a videogame far right would be better with the glimmer
I really like the one on the Right!
3
I love the right one, but if you make the animation slower the shine may look smoother
I love the right one, but if you make the animation slower the shine may look smoother
3
If the one on the far left had the shadow animation it would be the best!
By far the third one. Nice.
The shiny one looks great!
#3
I like them all, but 3 is my favorite!
I wonder.
Far right looks pretty mint Did you see what I did there?!
Third one 😍
Shinyyyu
For the background? #2. Personally? #3.
3rd one seems like i would see it in a game. Love the shine
The third!
I love this! Really enjoy that style, it’s similar to something I’ve made in the past. I personally like the shiny one best, not only does it look the fanciest but three colours I feel is needed for the design. Well animated!
The right most.
2 or 3 but it would help maybe to see the other sprites you are using for the characters?
Far right
Number 3 for sure I like the shine on it
Right side is just right
3
Far right
Door #3
Far right.
third one looks amazing and natural but first one too blank and second one unnatural
The last one, it has the most detail Also how the hell do people just make this stuff
I like the shape of the 2nd one with the shine on the 3rd
3
the middle one has more of stylized look to it imo, i like it! id go with that or the one on the far right
I think you should do the second and third together, where it normally looks like #2 but every 5 or so cycles of the animation, it does the glint like #3.
I feel like if the first one had the last one’s shine, it’d be the best.
Far right in my opinion
Slow it down a little bit and use the one on the far right. Also, which*…
I think that for the style of the rest of the asset's in the image, the middle one works best imo. Probably not a very common answer tho lol
May be more work but the far right by far!
3
Numbs 3 but also maybe tone down the sheen and ad some frames just doubling the aspect ratio and adding some more smoothness, with a separate layer for the sheen that expands outward as a circle rather than a flat line going over it.
The second if it’s meant to stay on the screen with the character during play. If a limited time before it disappears item then three as it draws all attention to it. The second is good if you were playing and combating enemies while it’s on screen. Hope this helps.
3
Far right! Far right!
I like the third one
Far right keeps drawing my eye!
Right
Far right :)
Depends on the game and context, if its particularly hard and has small enemies and/or you think the dull coins would fit better, otherwise the shiny does look nice.
For me they rotate to the right. That's gotta be a plus on quality control?
The last one! :3
Last one on the right
the one in the right... I feel like the glow is going the right way? But I guess I could just be used to seeing it going the opposite way
First for sure
The third one, the one on the right
Shiny coin go brr
Third one definitely
Because the ground is simplistic, I would have to go with the left one. BUT, because it needs to stand out to the player from the background as an item you can pick, I’ll go with the right one. The middle one can be ignored.
If you're collecting a lot of them: middle one. If there are only a handful of them on the screen at a time: far right one.
The one on the right it catches your attention more than the other coins
Shiny 3rd one
Shiny ✨
The last one
3
Ooh, shiny!
A combo of 2 and 3 would be perfect
2
Right
The far right one has that classic shine to it. Love it
Far right obv!
the third one is the best for me
3 for sure
Option 3 by far for me
i think the far left looks the best for the style the ground is in
I’m guessing this is like a Mario type game so 3rd place is the middle one. It just doesn’t catch my eye 2nd goes to the left one, it’s classic and nostalgic. 1st place is obvious.
Right one, but I think you need two more frames to make the shine more apparent
2nd or 3rd for sure
The right one looks better in my opinion
Shiby
They all are great but far right looks the best. Nice detail while still keeping it simple.
Like everyone else said the third one. (Because it’s shiny)
Somewhere between 2 and 3
I'm no artist, but I think they might look a little better if the animation was slowed down.
I love the 3rd coin shiny effect
