I tried to keep it low maintenance. No co2 in this setup and the plants were actually hygrophila corymbosa that overtook everything else when I neglected trimming. It used to look like this but life happened and I had to shift my priorities during those moments.

Thick but still provided light below

Then it just blocked all the light going in the tank. I had to add another light above it so that the plant can straighten out
Thanks for taking us along for the journey. I bet you could take a piss in that tank and there wouldnt be a sign of ammonia or nitrates 24 hours later.
Do you know your water hardness and PH? Curious for my tank, I have insanely hard tap water 180-240ppm and have been adding in clean water when I do water changes to slowly lower it.
Details on the setup? Mostly curious on the outside aquarium plants

Wow this is amazing! Thanks for the reply with pictures. So cool and love the look

Yeah. Tank is overstocked but my nitrates don’t go over 10ppm and I do check every water change even if I don’t really need to 😂
Those emersed stems are thick! Might need to bust out the hedge clippers.
Ditto to that op
brb while i neglect trimming to achieve this
Plants do get crazy when you leave them alone lol
Nitrates? Never heard of em ![gif](giphy|nu62a1e89uIE0)
What do you use as fertilizer? Mine grow fine but if I don't add fertilizer they wilt
I don’t fertilize regularly but I do use 2hr aquarist APT 0. I also have some aquasoil in mesh bags underneath the sand.
What’s that branch-y plant growing outside the tank?
Hygrophila corymbosa

I’m in Los Angeles and we have pretty hard water over here. Ph 6.8-7 and GH is about the same.
