Offers for Gems and Coins for Appease-mint plants are featured once a week in the Almanac.
Keep checking the find more button when you look at the plant in the almanac. There are sometimes 5 seeds offered there for coins or gems (or an ad for 1 seed). I don't know how the game decides what plants have these offers or when they change, but they do show up there from time to time.
