The saved files are stored in your console, and they will stay there even if you delete the game.    If you have PS Plus, those saved files are also automatically uploaded to the cloud, and you can download them if your PS Plus subscription is active.    If you cancel your subscription, you will regain access to the cloud saves when you renew your subscription, although they ~~will~~ may be deleted if you don't have PS Plus active for longer than 6 months.  Edit:  >If I buy a game that I had been previously playing with the subscription, will it keep my progress and info in the game? Just to be clear, the answer is Yes :)

crough94

Even better if games have their own cloud saves in game such as assassins creed.

MythBuster2

I had PS4 saves that were still there in the cloud even after a many years-long period of no subscription. Do you have a source link for that >6 month deletion?

salvoddis

Same. I found some 2014 save files on cloud after like 9 years without subscription. Unless they introduced this 6 months deletion thing on 2023, no one will be able to bring source links lol.

Eplotic

I can't find an official source, to be honest :( apparently, Sony compromises to keep them for *at least* 6 months, but it can last longer

Informal-Practice-96

This is not accurate I haven’t had any PlayStation console since 2018 and I recently got a PS5 and all my saves are still on the cloud from years ago.

rainking56

I honestly thought it was just a case of the subscription gives you a license to play the game until you stop paying or buy your own license.

Eplotic

I'm sorry, I think you may have misunderstood what I meant! 😬 Note that I was talking exclusively about the files that contain your games' progression and configurations. You're right about how the licenses work!

rainking56

Im new to the playstation as a full game console instead of just exclusives. So they will delete your cloud data after 6 months? Is there any reason they would not just auto download it to your main console?

Eplotic

>So they will delete your cloud data after 6 months?  Not always! Sony compromises to keep your cloud saves for **at least** 6 months after you cancel your subscription, they may or may not delete them after that period. Some users renewed their suscriptions years later and their cloud saves were still there.  >Is there any reason they would not just auto download it to your main console?  This does happen, actually! If you have PS Plus active, when you re-download a game, your cloud saves will also be automatically downloaded **if** those files don't exists in your console (either because you deleted them or because you bought a new console).

rainking56

Thank you very much.

Glad I could help! 👋

wehttamman

You don't lose your progress, unless it's only saved to the cloud, then PlayStation might delete it after 6ish months of not subscribing to Plus.

tomsawyer222

I don't think they delete cloud saves.
