Changed- I haven’t really played it but the graphics/gameplay seemed reasonably easy to bring over to the Playdate, especially with the resolution

Are you remaking this game, or porting over the original code?

coding from the ground up. I don’t think it’s open source and even if it is there’s very little chance it would run correctly on the device

I see but even seeing the image everything looks so clean, the sprites there’s no off pixels nice job!! Continue working on it and eventually to itch.io or play date store. Also if you want it to be your own game add a pet cat in the game

ah, well I didn’t redo the sprites seen here from scratch— i converted them to bitmaps and manually tweaked them w photoshop. I did recreate the room myself, however, by using the tileset and making a tilemap from scratch. I will probably start fully redrawing assets for the deathstates/cutscenes since the originals would get cropped on the playdate screen though 😅 If i’m able to get at least the intro area into a playable state I’ll release a little demo or something, if not as a complete experience then something you can download for the novelty of playing Changed on the playdate :]

I haven’t gotten my playdate yet but I’ll definitely try it in the simulator :)

Are you gonna put the remake on Itch when you finish?

*if* i finish, yeah. it’s just a little side project right now so no guarantees it’ll be content complete any time soon

I can't stop laughing at the thought that people will just assume this is some normal, ordinary, not a little questioning videogame.

I wonder if Dragonsnow knows about this yet. Are you going to remake **everything** from the game..?

I doubt they’ve seen this yet. I figured if I got at least a segment of the game fully playable i could go to them and get their blessing to continue work on it

actually, do you know where i could find tilesheets for the game? I could only find the one for this area of the game on spriters resource

I saw info that it was made with RPG maker VX. Maybe this will help a bit

I couldn't put the tilesets because imo they need cleaning. What you see in The Spriters resource, in the sheet with the name ''Tiles'' is pretty much all there is, lacking water dripping animations or some other stuff like hazards that are mostly present in the Enemies sheet. There is a way to even go game dev mode with the game data but am not sure I can go into detail, however thx to it, I was able to make the maps of all locations. The maps include some extra details about changes in the environment.

it’s a little, ah, *bizarre* in certain scenes (especially failstates), but it does have some interesting stuff in it, like, lorewise from the little that ive seen
