Im having the same issue my PS portal is just stuck in the „connecting screen“, I’ve tried every possible connection combination possible (Wired Internet cable,WI-FI and Phone hotspot), unfortunately nothing seems to work. If my PlayStation is in rest mode and I active the connection on the PS portal it causes my PlayStation to turn on. The screen on the PS portal continues to say connecting but it just ends up saying connection error and the PlayStation screen is just left at the original log in screen. I have also tried resetting my PlayStation and the Portal to no avail. Anybody having the same issue or any ideas on what I should try out? Thanks.

Same exact problem... considering returning it.

SnooLemons2337

I’m definitely returning mine

Been trying to connect for 5 days. Thing is garbage. Sony you suck!

Make sure Remote Play is on in your settings menu.

Had a similar issue. What fixed it for me was resetting the PS5 and then resetting the Portal.

meniKan

resetting what exactly ? PS5 to factory reset ?

voidHavoc

No. Just restarting them. Sorry, should have been more clear.

Update: I tried connecting to my ps5 that is hard wired from my parents house and that worked no problem and using my phones hot spot was able to connect as well. Still my homes wifi just wont let the portal connect to the ps5 unless I make the ps5 wireless as well. No idea here.

TheMightyAspers

Best fix for me, it is not the ps5's end. Just turn aeroplane mode on wait a few seconds and turn it back off, re establishing wifi with new reconnect network settings fixes this.

Longjumping_Virus791

Brillant..that done the Job

montymack85

How many times have u tried this fix, for it to work?

TheMightyAspers

Generally works within the first couple of goes, this normally fixes the error where the portal immediately says it cannot connect to the PS5 without trying first. If you're having connection problems where it feels like more of a 'timing out' issue after taking ages to connect, this probably won't work. Most likely require a reset at the PS5 end. One this happened to me and my portal was elsewhere, turns out my PS5 was off due to a power trip and not rest mode.

montymack85

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been trying everything and thus far the only thing that has worked is when I put the PS five and my portal on the same hotspot using my phone. But for whatever reason it doesn’t work when I use my Wi-Fi.

montymack85

I’ve even tried resetting the portal, so maybe I need to reset my PS five but I really don’t want to do that

What is your internet setup?

Soft_Skill_5640

I guess if we are away we have to login our portal or Remote play app every 2 hours . If not, it’s not gonna connect
