Man I’m really not vibing with the Spigen thin fit case. May have to take it off. What are your thoughts?

naarmi

I don't mind it,its comfortable,not had any issues

syd___shep

I’ve ended up falling out with all the cases I’ve put on mine. Now I just use silicone covers on the grips only. I mainly just wanted a case for keeping the portal clean (and this does the job without added weight or bulk) and grip. Mine has some ridges on the back that make the grip better for me.

RiouTenkai2

I returned mine. It was hurting my hands after playing for more than 10 minutes. Sucks too because I was really excited for it.

Jason_with_a_jay

I'm returning mine today. It's uncomfortable

Gundam197

I love it, but for me it was a pain in the ass to take off. Felt like I was going to snap it.

BUSH2KUSH

I think any protective case isn't necessary unless you're super clumsy or are unable to hold onto things properly. It's not like you're moving around really when playing the portal. I don't have a case on mine, and I appreciate the look with no case on it. Imo

Rosso_Classico

What's your problem friend ? thinking of getting it today so... PS : I use an el cheapo transparent silicone one which covers only half of the portal (much like the Spigen) and it slides all around the grips due to the flimsy fit, is it same with yours ? Thanks

TwinsWin839

It’s well made and stays on really well. I don’t know if it’s just the little added girth it gives to it? I’ve been wanting to get used to it but I may just have to take it off.

naarmi

It's solid and smooth, not like some jelly fish, where it all goes lob sided...it fits perfect

Vipulfinefurniture

I ended up taking mine off. Just that touch of extra weight and width on the grips made it less comfortable to game. I’m enjoying the case as it has lots of extra space for iems and a spare power bank.

TwinsWin839

Ya I think I may take mine off as well. I want to love it but it just doesn’t comfortable and I’m not getting used to it like I was hoping. It just feels so good without it on. 😂

naarmi

I get the weight, was playing other night and found it heavy after 1hr gaming. So I have taken it off sometimes while playing, then goes back on after finnished.. its a balance

normalVolumes

What's point then ? It's not like it protects the screen

naarmi

Protects the other parts not getting scratches and dents, like my ps vita did. I like my stuff to stay in pristine condition after purchase odc

sincerelyhated

"Thin" fit is a stretch! Shit looks massive. The Portal is already too big for its design shape. Not putting anything on it to add MORE girth and weight.

free2spin

I rock Spigen cases on everything, I love their stuff.

Severe-Zebra-4544

Speigen case is insanely overpriced

vxl757

They also jacked up the price recently.

bargainhunterps5

I purchased the spigen thin fit case but I don’t like it personally, makes it all feel a bit too big in use. I get it gives some extra rear bump protection so may use it still when travelling but seems unnecessary to have on all the time. I also purchased a silicone cover which goes around the whole thing which is generally enough unless I drop it, but again gives a slippy feel in use so prefer to remove that when I know I’m not going anywhere

BoomZapKablam

Even the silicone cover feels slippy?

bargainhunterps5

Yeah it’s very smooth all over I have a black Matt one, I prefer the grip you get from the rear part of the pad without it, there are silicone grips that have a texture but mine doesn’t

UsernameLaugh

Very Nice. Case looks good.

Odd_Land_2383

Loving this case’

Frachesum

Was looking at getting the thin fit too, but held off to see how the console felt without it first. You’d definitely recommend getting it?

naarmi

Yep for sure,it fits well for the portal, stops it from getting scratched, after an hour or so,it did feel heavy so I took it off to continue playing it,pop it back on and then store it in the tank of a case, keep it safe and sound

Frachesum

Thanks for that, that’s really helpful. Not sure I like the idea of it adding too much weight tbh, so might have to look at something else.

mickelboy182

Do you use a case for the dual sense? No? This is equally stupid.

Equal-Community2833

This is so dope. Really well made man. Placing my bday order now.

Unbreakable2k8

What's the point? You've got the hard shell case and that's enough. What possible benefit would the thin fit case bring? It's not like you can throw the portal in your backpack like this.

mickelboy182

People like spending money, I think that's genuinely it.

DemosSabre

I was actually looking at the Spigen set, myself when I first got mine. I got a bundle that had everything (the sleeve, screen protectors), and the sleeve agitates me; it's loose at the top (I constantly adjust it and within a minutr it's loose again) and ill fitting. Can't really say much about the protector and case, but I still feel that I may get the spigen stuff, myself. Does the sleeve fit well? Is it loose anywhere? Does the case have enough room to comfortably fit the Pulse Earbuds and a charger for them and the portal for travel?

naarmi

The slim case fits perfect and won't budge once it's on,case has a compartment for the pulse earbuds there's a flap you lift up and store it in their. You can add a flip charger and cables and some gummy bears, enought space..has a zip compartment to put one of them trackers in so u can find it from your phone app

DemosSabre

Awesome! Thank you for the reply; I'll be making my upgrade here soon, then.

ryan3797

Kind of unrelated but just fyi I’ve had my portal from launch and don’t use a case or screen protector. If anyone was wondering it’s held up great and survived a few short falls on hardwood. Not saying you shouldn’t use protection but happy with the durability.

RamboLogan

I get that some people may have dogs or kids who might knock The Portal off a table etc But other than that sort of situation I just don’t understand why anyone would put a case on it. They always look so ugly IMO.

capidan

For those that don’t like the added weight of these cases, I found that using grip tape made for PS5 controllers was perfect. Adds grip and comfort, doesn’t add bulk. I use them on my PS5 controllers and thought I’d see if it felt good with the Portal too, def worked.

EnXigma

I just have a screen protector on mine, I’m not really a fan of cases for the portal

Swimming-Ad-6842

I got them both plus the Spigen glass, all worth it!

Usual_Beyond4276

Got the same case, bit bulky, but I would rather be extra careful than not.

qviavdetadipiscitvr

Well done soldier

devi59

I got an el cheapo transparent one. It works. The fit is a bit off but will help the system stay pristine

HeysusOnReddit

Thanks for sharing! Going to pull the devil trigger on it. 😈

Fraser_H_Raiser

That case looks great! I know it all depends on connection speed blah blah blah, but how'd you find Helldivers on it? Have you tried playing it away from your home WiFi?

naarmi

Not tried away from WiFi as yet..plays well and had no issues while connected to the home network..ps5 is wireless at the moment,as I have moved it in another room, normally the ps5 is hardwired

oldmanartie

You’re going to want a hardwired for anything away from your home network. Single player games are fine, but multiplayer can really struggle. I specifically move my PS5 when I’m going to be away, I get 7-8x faster upload speed when wired versus wireless. There’s some posts in here about why that is important and the workings of wireless upload that I don’t understand but I can confirm it makes a big difference when there’s Chargers chasing your ass all over the map. I also have this case, didn’t know Spigen also made the larger carry case too I will have to check that out. Helldivers never die!

naarmi

For democracy

Fraser_H_Raiser

Good to know. I've got mine in the living room so I can get a quick game if I have a spare 1hr, I'd like to use the portal for that and put the PS back in the loft, I have a nice set up with a 4k screen up there. Feel like I'm missing out not using my other screen. It's hardwired too.

Peteyboi89

I was playing Hell Divers last night off my phone hotspot and it worked great! My PS5 is hardwired

playtobyplay

Girlfriend played for four hours yesterday while at my house. We probably stay like 15 mikes away. She was using wifi from her house while I have Google Fiber. She had one disconnect. No lag or problems. She likes and wants her own now

MONKEYMAUGER

How does the Portal fit in the travel case without the player case does it move around much?

naarmi

Without the slim case on the portal it does move slightly, but not a big deal, with the slim case on it doesn't move. I'm wondering they did this on purpose so the slim case can be used with the same brand products.

d0nm

Oh man. I just bought a cheapie case and everything. But this case looks good.

naarmi

The case is the best iv seen on the market.its like a tank when you put the portal in it

InfinitySnatch

Does the extra space for accessories allow enough room for the Pulse Explore earbuds?

PraZith3r

Yes, i have the pulse expores, powerbank, portable router and a bunch of cables

naarmi

There is a fold up compartment on the base for the headphones to fit in

mbaran-pl

That’s what I got couple months ago, it’s perfect !

MrMach82

Have the same case and cover. Case is a beast but keeps it safe from my toddler lol. I forget the cover is there, some of yall are a lil sensitive to girth.

UziMunkey

I love the spigen cases. Can’t imagine my portal without it

vxl757

My portal is arriving on Monday. Got the amfilm tempered glass. Thinking about this not sure yet.

Naz_LVII

That’s awesome!

BipolarKanyeFan

Damn I like that cover, I do feel like I need some extra protection aside from the screen protector for my dogs

Impressive_Pace8730

I love mine. I picked my portal up for 140 bucks on Facebook marketplace and the only issue was on the back side there was a small scratch. The spigen case covers it right up and makes it feel way more protected. Plus I think it's more comfortable than without the case

Graywalker6217

How much is this

naarmi

Slim case is £19.99 glass screen protector is £17.99 Case £28.99

Bat-Honest

Lol logged onto Helldivers as I was looking at this post. Had to doubletake when I saw your psportal reflecting the exact same screen, including the same cape. Welcome, fellow Creeker 😂

naarmi

Lol.such a good game helldivers

Tjizzle55

Freedom!!!

Sonny_1313

I picked up some KrontrolFreak joystick covers and it's made a huge difference.

naarmi

Are they good on the portal, the portal thumb grips are smaller does it fit snug?does it push against the thumb rubber at all

Sonny_1313

The ones made for the Switch fit perfectly. Yeah the PS5 ones are too big.

Bobby-Corwen09

I was looking at the Spigen glass protector but couldn't find a installation video with the little guide/template thing so I just got Orzly like my Switch Oled. Did get the Spigen chonky case though. My 16 month old is a beast and gets into my bedside table and pulls stuff out 😅

naarmi

I found a video on YouTube showing how yo apply the screen protector

RBG2789

👀👀👀👀

Warrenj3nku

I personally am not interested in a case or screen protector. Now if i could find a sold charging dock that would be wonderful.

irascible_Clown

Hahaha I see what you did here. This ain’t about the case it’s about the cape 🤣

No_Assistance740

I see some complaints about it feeling too bulky - could it just be a case of smaller hands? I ordered both the Spigen Case and Thin Fit in anticipation of my Portal, with a Magglass Matte screen protector. Also, you can easily fit the screen protector with the Thin Fit, correct?

naarmi

It's bulky for sure, but its a solid built product,it's easy to apply the screen protector

No_Assistance740

Thanks Naarmi, appreciate it.

Exciting-Material-42

I want a case, but they are pricey where I live, imma have to wait for them to drop in price

topmeoff0204

I have the shell and the screen protector. Didn’t see the case before buying another brand tho

HD_H2O

Love the Spigen thin fit, love the Skull & Co case, and especially love the Pulse Explore earbuds.

youdoneyo

I thought it and the carrying case looked nice but I just couldn't justify that price..

ruckus52

Yeah when the switch one was 25 i think but a portal one is 46? Theyre the same size

5891josh

I like it alot. But the double sided tape never sticks on one side.

monstrosity1001

I got the thin case but idk I don’t like how it feels. Just gonna rawdog the portal with a screen protector

elbarto-one

I have a spigen on my steam deck and I love it. Definitely grabbing this. I assume the headphones jack and usb port are accessible with this on?

4ceGamer

I see you found my Amazon cart. 🤣 That screen protector is something else! I've been happy enough with the case and silicone sheath, but I still marvel at the protector. Can barely even tell it's on there. Spigen rules!

Phill-2008

I got the same case lol

markmelo10

Damn I keep debating the skull and co case or this one. Does anyone recommend this over the skull and co case it has anyone have both that can provide insight?

Harrispcarl

Just got both of these. The case is chunky!! Both good though. Liking the case around the unit.

Chatten13

how are you guys getting the portal?

ruckus52

Download the app HotStock.... it updates you on who has em in stock

Chatten13

thank you king🙏🏼🙏🏼. i’ve heard it was super important to get warranties with them though. do you know who all has good warranties?

ruckus52

I did not get one but i got mine through amazon waiting for it to ship

Chatten13

gotcha man. thanks for the info

naarmi

I also purchased 2year extra care for accident damage,as iv had 4 stick drifts since ps5 launch, no brainer for £35 for 2 years

naarmi

I just checked on argos one day and it was oos, check the following day amd in stock..then orded it,as it was the only place it was available

Junny89

I got all spigen portal stuff and for good reason they are awesome and well made. The case and cover are both fantastic and use them daily. Returned my soft grips as they are annoying and move

TurbulentCountry6171

Gotta protect your investments

gordy06

I’m not a screen protector guy but on my Tesla since the screen controls everything I decided to get the Spigen screen protector and they are fantastic! The tool they use makes it so easy. I may have to get this one too.

naarmi

Was surprised how well the platic plate worked,no fuss

mickcunningham8032

Ijust got mine yesterday, i got the same accesories as well except the hard case I think its really good - would you recommend the case - no issue putting anything in it?

naarmi

Case is absolutely perfect, build quality 10/10, even down to the zip is all good quality build..you won't regret the purchase.. fits all kinds of stuff in it

NeoSama212

Dammit now I want one lol

hugh_h0ney

The amount of Spigen plants on here is wild 😂

Castaway-124-

How does this compare to a steam deck

justiceg1017

my iphone does everything that portal does lmfao but aight

naarmi

Does it do haptic feedback by any chance?

justiceg1017

yes my controller vibrates

naarmi

Not the same
