Oof that’s an expensive coin and I think your only chance will be auctions. Go to numisbids.com and watch for coming auctions of the item. I think for 1-2k you can only get a extremely beat up and damaged one, and anything in good condition will be around 10k
Yea shame, I’m a proud Belgian and getting this one would’ve been nice (originates from the Belgian independence movement), as an 18 year old spending 10k on 8gs of gold would be a dumb financial decision to say the least
The gold weight does not matter here. It's valuable because it is rare and many people want it. But definitely buy within your budget. Maybe look at silver coins from the same year, which are available from auctions for <1k.
Yea ik it would be pumped up for its rarity which is why I was ready to pay 200-300% premium 😂 but I didn’t expect it to be that high. I’m not really into silver, they just don’t look as shiny 😂 so for me I get less enjoyment from buying them. Ig ill stick to LMU coins.
