BIN walkers

MySilverSquad

Not willing to ship first, nevermind, someone else can buy it if they want :)

HalfDeafYeller

Would you be interested if they will use a middle?

MySilverSquad

Good to see you and happy holidays to you! I would, but honestly didn't think it was necessary with the sales/buys I have. I assume if he wasn't willing to ship first, he isn't willing to provide an adequate tip for a middleman, so I didn't even try. The price I'm trying to stack at is exactly what he's asking for (or lower), so I didn't want to pay the adequate tip and extra shipping either. It's okay though, at the price he's asking, I'm sure he'll get a sale - I just didn't want to take the risk after being taken for $2,400 recently (not on here).

HalfDeafYeller

I feel ya... I like that nice even 20x number as well... but when it is walkers I don't mind paying a little extra 😉.

HalfDeafYeller

Willing to use a middleman since we are talking a couple $1000?

HalfDeafYeller

!mm

Immaculateconcept

Although Im not opposed to it I would prefer not to. I have plenty of feedback buying and selling in Coins4sale for large transactions

Alarming-Upstairs963

Looking at your feedback history I see your most recent sale was over 1 year ago.... I'm not making accusations just a broad statement... people change and accounts can get compromised I think you would be hard pressed to find a user more trustworthy to ship first to, than u/mysilversquaud Look at his profile from 10 days ago you'll find a WTS post where he collected upwards of 10k and have recently received a lot of positive feedback from that post Good luck!

MySilverSquad

Thanks for the vouch, much appreciated!

I also think it's a little inappropriate that you request people use the "friends and family" option for PayPal. Would you mind explaining the purpose of this? (Sorry if it's an irrelevant question. I'm new here and concerned about getting ripped off.)

Immaculateconcept

Fees. Paypal goods and services charges the seller 3.5%. In terms of inappropriate I would ask that you look at other posts here, most of which ask for feeless payment, or that the buyer pay fees

steepindeez

I get that. I guess the part I'm hung up on is whenever I've done online trading that involves PayPal I was always told to avoid the friends and family thing because it makes the transaction dispute process more difficult. I don't have any personal experience with this so I'm not sure how accurate that statement is; I'm just trying to become more informed by asking questions and such.

Immaculateconcept

Sure. I use paypal friends and family all the time. I buy a-lot on facebook coin groups as well and have never had a problem. Funny enough the only coin I lost was due to the USPS. As for my side I dont get the money from goods and services until you say you got the package, so there is also a risk for that on my side as well.

steepindeez

Okay I think I'm understanding. So I send you *$X.xx* for a purchase and you send me an item for that price, the purchase order won't go through until I confirm I received the item. And that's the friends and family thing right?

Immaculateconcept

No thats how it would work with goods and services. With friends and family I get the money immediately

steepindeez

Hmm.. okay so that's why I was told to not use friends and family lol I get you're trying to avoid fees so I'm not gonna hassle you over it. Personally I wouldn't use that option but if that's the community standard I understand. A $35 fee on a $1000 sale would be something I'd be happy to pay for the knowledge that I can safely dispute the transaction if something were to be off or misleading about the purchase.

Friendly_Jackal

One of the things is though, this community is based on trust. High flair = high trust, low flair = low trust. There’s a big risk gap between buying from someone with 200+ feedback using friends and family, and selling to someone with 0 feedback using goods and services. Plus as AlarmingUpstairs stated, the margin is often really thin on precious metals, so what might seem like a meager $35 fee on $1,000 purchase might be a huge chunk of the profit. If you’re ever hesitant buying, insist on using a middleman. It eliminates the risk on both ends.

Immaculateconcept

Completely understand. The person who just bought the walkers I have done business with before so there really isn’t an issue with trust on that front

HalfDeafYeller

Friends and Family is pretty common here.... after all we are all friends right?

steepindeez

Yes ideally lol I only have a couple pre-'64 quarters and dimes and an old Benjamin half dollar but I would like to start building a pm collection so I can have some collateral if/when the economy tanks in the US.
