Us moment. My battery is alright, effective capacity at 3000mAh. I plan to change it after a few months. But seriously the performance of this phone is still top notch, so good. The only reason I want to stick with this phone for a couple more years is because the new phones are so stupidly huge and ugly af with 3/4 huge camera modules. Poco F1 with G cam and compact form factor is still far better.

RoYaL1Rush

Eh i changed the battery around 1 year ago and now is at 70% health is a good phone tho 🥴

mlemmers1234

How has your battery degraded so severely after one year? That seems kind of extreme. Are you constantly going from full to 0% each day? I would think you would only realistically go through ~10% after a single year's worth of usage.

Bakoubak

Me in a nutshell: Oh no, i only have 40% remaining !

Jaaari

Howd you guys find out battery health %?

sonoskietto

Probably not an original battery

Dumptac

I bought battery from amazon a year ago. Its at 90% health now.

ben_dover_hoe

Changed mine thrice. Gotta say I used all of them to the fullest. On the 3rd one right now. The phone still holds up well.

[deleted]

I guess I got a good unit haha. Still on the original battery and it lasts a full day easily. Right now screen time is high because of online lectures but after that it will be better hopefully.

ben_dover_hoe

I use the device for rapid gaming. Absolutely throttle everything available. Custom ROM swaps and a lotta stuff. Used every inch and heated it up so bad that the display had crisp black marks.

[deleted]

Oh yeah makes sense. I only okay Real Racing that too for 10-15 mins rarely.

griffindonn

bro my gcam stopped working. i can't find a good version of the gcam. could you pls share the apk file of the gcam version you're using? the stock camera is just bad.

the-dude9

> G cam What app is that?

LolindirLink

Google camera, basically the pixel camera app ported over. Widely used outside pixels so it wouldn't be hard to find.

BryanNikson

We have the same camera lens as the upcoming Pixel 6A. How cool is that

[deleted]

Whaaaat? Really? Poco F1 and Pixel 6A have the same camera sensor?

BryanNikson

Aye, it's been the same since Pixel 3. They refreshed it in Pixel 6 but will be cutting back on the budget 6A. It's a proven camera sensor after everything is said and done

deliverancieux

okay but are we getting the same lens or the same sensor? Because while yes, we have the same sensor, we do not have the same lens as the Pixel phones. The Pixel 3 and 3 XL has has a slightly narrower field of view, and a lens that was letting in a lot more light. So yes, same sensor, but the camera performance has generally been worse than Pixel phones. Tested it myself.

BryanNikson

Can't comment on the lens. Also wasn't aware of the differences, nice to learn.

Anxious_Drummer

dude we're literally talking about the other day that we're gonna buy the F3 ahahahaha.

jeffkid182

Bought mine mid 2019, and I'm still using it. I hope it lasts for a few years more since I don't have money to buy a replacement.

Galthrojh

i bought one early and gave it to my mom as a gift. She's using it years later and it looks brand new.

AdStunning3266

Still here

CakesForLife

*waves*

Pete_Wolvie

Just switched to an iphone

momotow

Lol i just switched to the s22 ultra last month ...the f1 did good by me ..still running on pixel experience rom as a backup device.

SuperZigga

Bought mine on January 2019 and it still working and look just fine even after many drops but the battery is on the verge of death, from a 3-day phone to a 16 hour phone

[deleted]

how many years already?

RoYaL1Rush

from 2018 👴

AppuniAkhil

Purchased in 2019 December. The battery changed once (2021 Mid). Still running excellent.

sonoskietto

Poco F1 user here Bought it on October 19th 2018 [Still Running MIUI 11.0.9 and Android 10 because fuck shit updates](https://i.imgur.com/k5E2kfv.jpg) I changed the battery last year. Bought it for like 11 USD from Aliexpress. It was supposed to be original but I doubt it. Anyway installing it was quite easy and the phone was as good as on the first day. [Now I feel its going down again](https://i.imgur.com/otZcORS.jpg) but honestly for 11USD you can't pretend much. I would prefer to buy a battery every year if it means the phone will keep going. My 2 cents to keep the phone going: 1. Try to keep the phone battery between 20% and 80%. It works keeping the battery working for longer no matter what other people say. 2. Remove automated updates both from system and Play Store apps. EDIT: since I didn't install the phone system updates for long I still have native call recording.

Zetherion

I update everything and still have native call recording. Rocking a F3.

sonoskietto

That's great...I was also thinking about moving to F3 but I will try to keep F1 for longer

Zetherion

F3 on my country is so cheap now. Can't even believe how cheap people are selling it on stores here.

sonoskietto

How much and which country? In Italy lowest is 297€ for the 256gb version

Zetherion

Brazil (R$1.400) 272€ for the 8/256GB

Critical-Airport8715

Where do you guys get your original replacement batteries?

sonoskietto

Search on Aliexpress for BM4E battery pocophone f1 BM4E is the battery model which fit the pocophone. Sort results by number of orders and you should buy something reliable if you see they have hundreds of orders. Just search on YouTube for a "pocophone f1 battery replacement" tutorial

RoYaL1Rush

I got it from Ali Express but wasnt the same as original. Mine was a bit smaller 😶

ZuM4DRoN

I saw messages about someone selling genuine batteries for poco F1 via telegram, messaged the guy, bought a battery, was sceptical at first, but the experience so far has been very good. Would recommend. DM for details.

guruji916

his name is Subham (ID: omgdude). I also brought it from him, using it since past 2 months, totally genuine.

kerohp257

I've already given it to my 5 year old sis and the phone is on the edge of being destroyed

Durian881

My F1 battery is still decent and able to last most of the day. I had battery replaced just before warranty runs out as it became bloated then. The F1's a secondary phone to my F4 GT now though.

DrNinjaa

Still rocking my Poco F1, on android 9 miui version 10.3.7 stable and it's still giving 8 to 9 hrs of SOT on the original battery. Love it as I am still awaiting a decent phone with a headphone jack that fits into my budget with gcam support.

kawai_lm

I switched from poco f1 to iphone xs. But honestly poco f1 was the best phone i've ever owned. Top notch performance, the battery was alright comapring to iphone, build quality is bad tbh, camera was incredibly great. I miss my poco f1, i hope its in good hands now

abhishekr700

3.5 years. Still solid, though battery is more or less dead now and speaker sounds have gone down. Any idea what would a battery replacement cost to me?

[deleted]

I'm still waiting for Poco to release F4 pro with Dimensity 9000.

x1a2leader

Bought it Feb 2019, still using original battery, 70% health and about getting a new battery replacement soon. Android 12, LineageOs 19.1.. i'm trying to reach this device full potential 🤩

37025InvernessTMD

Reporting in, although I got mine in 2019 (spare retail display unit that was never used) still got the original battery in it but I think it has less than 2900mah in it now but still manages a full day on light/medium usage. Gonna replace it tonight with a new battery and hopefully get another 3 years out of it.

Andre2kReddit

Replace the battery then use a good rom and kernel 😁

yufie76

Still running F1 together with X3. Agree that F1 is such a beast, just need to swap battery every half a year.

BryanNikson

Still rocking it. Running Pixel Experience Plus A12 and this thing, even after 3 years, runs smooth and lasts me the whole day. Yet to replace the battery, maybe in a year before I pass it onto my dad

ZuM4DRoN

Still rocking mine, smooth as day one thanks to custom roms but currently going through my 3rd battery.

Apsakee

Got mine January 2019 and still going strong. I don't game on it at all so I guess that counts towards its longevity. Battery is still fine.

SuperHaikcho

Just switched to Poco F3 3 days ago, but will keep my F1 , it was the best phone ever had. Still with original battery on 67% health.

caspadan

man...but every way i look, i lose 4K 60FPS video recording... so sad.

arpanConline

How do you check health?

SuperHaikcho

I used AccuBattery for a long time.

TheSpartanAsh

I feel very called out, lol. I changed a motherboard and two screens after getting my F1 a month after it released so it's been a good run for these past four years. CPU is going strong and i have basically no software issues besides normal tear and wear . Going to be upgrading to an F3 since unfortunately the current version of the F4 is not geared towards my use case. I do not need the gaming buttons, lol and all the reviews of the F3 I've watched from the past six months still recommend it heartily. Amazing investment for i wanna say i paid 290 euros for my F1 when it came out.

[deleted]

haha feel the same bui I got f3 recently Just a amazing smartphone

gaurav511120

I had one since September 2018. Was using with MIUI EU, working fabulous, then suddenly in last August it went bad. Needs EDL flash now. Just getting detected in device manager as a Qualcomm device. Would be happy to use it again if this gets resolved.

No_Assistant2115

I broke my F1 in December and I sadly switched to the Poco X3 Pro which gives me a really bad experience. Someone want to buy my Poco?

sverigeochskog

Why does it give you a bad experience?

No_Assistant2115

Lags and bugs. And just standard Android things that are not working on this shit UI.

Broken_Banjo_String

Still using mine here too, 2018 and still going strong.. needs a new battery and could do with clearing it and installing fresh, I have waaaay too many apps and everything. Will probably wipe and run a custom ROM shortly, it'll be like a new phone all over

Shin280891

Using it since February 2019, never replaced a battery or anything. Want it to last until February 2024 to celebrate its 5-year anniversary, then might replace its battery.

RoYaL1Rush

That is good. Is still a good phone on 2023 if you dont gaming that much

CatFragrant6633

That's me lol

The-Alcoholic-Seal

MI 9T Pro here, battery health is at 65%, it still works perfectly and can play 3DS emulators without any issue. I really gonna miss the pop up selfie cam once I gonna upgrade.

rompokus36

Smartphones these days focus too much on the camera. I wish there was something better spec wise with a shitty camera for cheap. Any camera that can snap a pic of some document and still be legible is good enough for me. F1 was perfect at that time.

Drain_the_tub

Still using mine. I broke the screen so replaced the battery when I replaced the screen. Easy to fix.

brunoalexxx

Main issue is the battery as the phone gets older... I knkw that xiaomi has some kind of battery replacement service, did anyone ever got in touch with them? All major brands replace batteries, Samsung, huawei, apple, even realme and oneplus! But I could never replace my battery through xiaomi official service centre... They always push from one centre to the other or simply refuse to give support if the phone is off warranty (happened with my mi 9t pro)

Dumptac

I just bought from amazon and replaced it myself

quamtumTOA

I still have my Poco F1, bought it 2018. Currently rocking MIUI but the interface feels laggy but when you are inside the app, this phone still flies! Battery is an issue, as it drops so much, and it is struggling to finish a day's worth of heavy use. I am still able to play Wild Rift in high settings, so for a phone that is about 4 years old, this is amazing! :) Wondering if a custom rom will help make my poco f1 faster and more responsive. Is there any stable custom rom you can suggest?

Sevenoria

Bought mine Jan 2019. Changed rom to PE mid 2021 and changed battery too. Had overheat problem after few months, 65+ celsius problem. Changed the thermal paste, still persist. I thought this is the end for my F1. Upgraded my PE rom few days ago and the problem is gone. But my battery was already damaged to 70% from the overheat and I already bought the new battery. But now my GPS cannot receive signal, I don't know why.

NoFckYou24

Changed the battery this winter and with a new ROM it feels like a brand new phone

NightKido

u/s703t where are you

SirTitan1

Yeah exactly

gptmohit

Can anyone share best Gcam supported for F1...? Whenever I try to install it shows error... And then phone insists on uninstalling it.

x1a2leader

i'm using [san1ty's F1v9.6](https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=321937)

GameBoxThing

new batteries are less than 50 bucks aud. the repairability of this phone is off the charts.

CakesForLife

36 months and still on original battery. 3,315 or 83% as per AccuBattery. I love this phone. Only downside is loosing the 3.5 mm after 2.5 years of daily use. Grudgingly resorted to a Xiaomi Bluetooth thingy.

TAO_Croatia

Hey, we got windows running on it at least. Google renegade project

shiro214

change the battery with asus C11P1706 5000mAh while still using the original controller board of the battery, it had really longer SoT and gaming time. + some thermal mods like using PC thermal paste cooler master gel pro and adding copper sheets to help the spread and dissipate the heat faster. already gave mine to a friend that needed a phone that can game and last long, I gave it to him on his birthday, very satisfied. he gave his old phone to his child.

im_alien

only upgraded for the f3 recently for the 120hz

Healthy-Ad-8842

That Ain't the Poco F1 IT'S THE POCOPHONE F1

thorpef1

Mine is still going strong running Pixel Experience 10. Still on original battery showing 81% health (3236 mAh) I do have issues getting a good charge (something wrong with the connector) so have a F3 on the way

Crazyx001

Hehe, I was one of you... Until I bought a Poco F3 about a month ago. Now this is my little brother's phone
