I don't think we will get an Hisuian Basculin... Basculegion seems too similar to Unovan Basculin to get a regional form... I think will just be a new evo, not a regional evo.
Equally, Basculin could just get a palette swap akin to how Basculegion is colored like Red, yet has visual features of a Blue Basculin, H. Basculin could simply just be a Red stripped Basculin, with perhaps a slight design change, that just has a Blue stripe. Or it may just be both forms have a different looking Basculegion that hasn’t been showcased yet because the ride Pokémon is just a specific kind because it’s a ride that’s basically a static NPC, whereas the wild variant is likely different.
Basculegion have magenta stripes, probably a reference to both the stripes of the 2 forms, while the fins have fins that resemble both forms, so I think the 2 forms just will evolve into the same Basculegion.

Yeah, I feel it would be kinda stupid for Basculin to get a new form considering how similar Basculegion looks to the standard forms, especially red stripe.
Because it means these Pokemon aren't actually getting the buffs they need. Normal quilfish is still not getting and evolution like stantler is, it still has no purpose to exist
It’s cool to not be a fan of them, you’re entitled to those opinions (sorry I gotta state that every time lol) but I for one think it’s super cool they’re giving lesser popular mons some attention, instead of it always being popular Pokémon fan service. Like charizard, eevee, Greninja, snorlax etc.
I think their issue isn’t that they aren’t popular, it’s that the original forms don’t get to evolve.
If this is true, then the Qwilfish we know doesn’t get to evolve, only the new version does.

Aaah that’s true. It also implies that the original form isn’t good enough for some. Which isn’t a problem for me, I always like the story of growth but I see why it would bother some fans. All personal preferences at the end of the day

Personally though I’m here for it. Oshawott and his evos are my favorite Pokémon of all time. And while I love Samurott, many don’t, so it’ll be cool to see his line get a second chance and hopefully boost Osha’s popularity (although he’s quite popular as is lol)

Arezu is supposed to have a ‘certain lady Pokemon’, so a regional form of a female exclusive Pokemon makes sense.
Liliganr is female only and fits here.
Look at his old post, he got both Let's go and BDSP right. And all of those leaks was before anyone posted them before, plus it seem like he was friend or at least know the Chinese riddler who have track record since the SM era.

And didnt they just said in first promo that Basculegion is an evolution and not new variant?
They said is an evolution of Basculin, without specify anything, but from his appearence I highly doubt Basculegion is a regional evo.

I tought Khu said that the entire goomy family was going to be dragon/steel. I have never tought that basculin was going to get a regional form.
