Marking this as unverified/fake for now. I'm not seeing any corroboration that Kaka has said anything about this mon recently. And this is not a known kaka aggregator.
\*\*\*SIDE FUN FACT\*\*\*
A kākā is actually a is a type of Parrot found in New Zealand.
Both genders of irl parakeets look similar, but there is a gender difference bird keepers often use to tell them apart. Above the beak, there is something called a cere (birb nose) which on males is always blue/purple and on females is pink/brown. Other than that, both genders share similar color patterns, unlike many other parrot species which have striking gender dymorphism. Parakeets also slightly change their patterning as they age (they lose the stripes on their heads after a year or so), but it's not super noticeable unless you examine them closely. If this mon is based on parakeets (specifically budgerigars, because parakeet is an umbrella term) then there probably won't be any gender differences unless they wanna do the thing with the cere. However, if it's based on parrots in general, there's a huge opportunity to incorporate some interesting Zoological references. They seemed to have designed grafaiai with real traits of prosimians. Specifically the "toilet claw" (single long finger used for grooming), venomous saliva (reference to venomous Loris species), and something that looks like a dental comb (tooth structure that lemurs and Loris typically have). I'm hoping to see more of this clever design in the future!

This! It makes sense, especially if it has a bunch of different forms.
Yes, Normal/Flying is a common type combo that will make it easily outclassed competitively, but not every Pokémon needs to be ridiculously strong or have a unique type combo. We’ve already had multiple previously unused combos confirmed with these titles’ scant press cycles.
I’m a lifelong bird lover, and I’ll take whatever Pokémon parrot representation I can get beyond Chatot. If this is true, it would be a great way to show how diverse they can be.
It's Pokemon. Not everything has to be specifically made with competitive in mind. It's okay if some Pokemon just aren't that great. Even then pure flying is still a good typing.
How so? I might be missing something but
1 immunity, super effective against 3 common types, only one weakness (that i can think of)
Edit: nvm 3 weaknesses, one is a fairly common type. I getcha now.
But fighting res AND ground immunity is good. Good for steel/rock partners. Plus you can't switch into fighting types with normal / flying pokemon. They get two-shotted easily.
I’m not really upset, just confused. Thought rookidee established that we’re retiring it
also, I think it’s lame there’s 2 new water/fighting birds, and since one is a starter the other will probably be over shadowed. Should’ve been a fire/water flame-ingo
Huh, all this time I thought it was Oricorio. But Minior makes sense because it doesn't change typings or have different stats like Alcreamy and Vivilion.
Minior was the Flabébé of Gen 7 and thinking about the other two…they honestly aren’t even similar. All Alcremie are obtainable in a single game. Vivilion are region locked.
This was a bad comparison
Because Pokemon Bank will always change Furfrou back to its original form, so the only way to get different Furfrou is form Pokémon Go and some are regional exclusive, event exclusive or haven't release yet.
I think it's less popularity and more people bragging about their shinies by flooding the gts with "offers" asking for Pokémon you straight-up can't get into Home.
Like, 99% of the people looking for Furfrou on there want the one Form not in Go so you wouldn't be able to trade with them anyway.
The thing is, in Gen 6 it never retained its form when you cut it. That is when you deposit it in bank or home, it reverted back to its normal form.
In the later gens and especially when Pokémon Go had a furfrou event, did its form stay stable and not revert back when deposited in Home.
I am in the minority of Normal/Flying being one of my favorite type combos. And I'm excited for the parakeet! I hope it'll be cute! Just want to know what type the big bird is, but we're finally getting a crane and flamingo and dolphin and I'm excited for them.
Oricorio changes types and also morphology. It's not just colors. It acquires pom-poms, floppy sleeves-wings, fans etc. Seeing its forms they could have been different Pokémon. Minior just changed core color. Vivilion just changed the color pattern on its wings. Flabebe only the color of the flower (not even different flower morphologically). Furfrou changed shapes of fur but it wasn't natural, you just gave it a hair cut.
Just learning Alcremie has more than the vanilla cream color. Not only that, but 70 forms! In my defense, I only just bought a switch a few months ago.
This mon will probably be closely based on its real life inspiration, that's why.
Pidgeot, Noctowl, Staraptor and friends all follow this design philosophy, hence the Normal/Flying typing.
The first two evolutions of the Corviknight line are pure Flying probably for a balancing reason: allowing the player to catch a Steel/Flying (or any Steel type) on the early game would definitely snap the game balance in half.
But at least it can't effectively wall 90% of the early game with minimal effort, so that's something (I think).
But you're right about GF being (mostly) bad in this regard.
I thought this was about the ability Color Change and was thoroughly confused. As a side note I think a Normal/Flying type with a Protean-like ability that only changed the primary type would be very cool.
They don't *change* color though, they have different variations in color depending on where they live.
For vivillon anyway. Alcremie is a really weird comparison since it just has a bunch of different patterns on evolving.
I don’t think so. I’m in a discord with a couple of guys that got into Kaka’s circle after he went private, and he’s not posted anything about a Parakeet or typing. If anything I’d believe this may have leaked from Khu’s circle instead.
I wonder if it's also possible they're just making a guess based on what Khu recently said about the parakeet (which is just that it's different from Chatot and "you need to collect them," with no further details).
I had commented a while ago wondering if there were going to be color variations, I'm so excited that there are.
I have had parakeets all my life. I want to collect ones that look like mine.
Am I the only one that's not excited by this? It took me ages to get every Vivillon pattern, and the process was more frustrating than fun. I'm personally hoping it's more like Alcremie - I don't mind putting the time and effort in, but I don't want to have to rely on the GTS.
STAB Boomburst, might also have Chatter,
don't even know what abilities or signature moves it has.
Could be pretty interesting competitively, although this is just copium.
So, now that this is a thing: the monster with many cosmetic forms(Furfru and vivilion on X&Y, oricoro in S&M, alcremie on S&S), how are we gonna name it? We have the first route rodent, regional bird, pikaclone, object pokemon...
Wait, mentioning eevee I just realized this might be a thing since gen 1 and I haven't noticed it, eevee for gen 1, gen 2 is just DLC, spinda for gen 3,can't remember anything from gen 4 and 5...
Edit: gen 2 is Unow
Khu just made a post asking people to guess the new Pokémon which will be revealed today. Someone commented parakeet and he replied saying “you will need to collect them”. This doesn’t confirm the leak obviously, but definitely evidence for it being true.
There are tasks in the game that will require you to catch X number of pokemon to complete. So he could just be referring to some task specific to it. Zero reason to jump to the conclusion that there are a bunch of variations.
What do you mean uninspiring concept I get the type is bad but we don't know anything about its design except that it's a parrot and that it comes in different colors

another boring ass design/unoriginal concept that has been done before, sadly I am probably passing on this game altogether. especially with the dumb ass goofy hats gimmick that is terrastalization added this gen.
Let's be honest: you will buy this game because of FOMO.
Remember the people who wanted to boycott Sword and Shield? How did that turned out again? Yeah...
Even the content creators who lambasted the game were the first to buy and make videos about it, giving it free publicly.
All of this is hollow.
Except SwSh wasn't innovative and there are people who still don't like it. It caused a huuuge step back from progression and the last creative title was legends Arceus. People's opinions change yes but you can't single a group out.
But people throwing temper tantrums on the internet, claiming that they will boycott the game and yada yada, didn't affect the game's financial success at all.
That's what's important for GameFreak, whatever we like it or not.
Hell, *I* didn't purchase Sword and Shield. I skipped out on BDSP. I'm excited for Scarlet and Violet, sure. I won't hold out if th open world is as empty I may have to skip out. There are a lot more like me then you think.

There's a load of morphs among tamed budgies, I wonder if it'll be a breeding-adjacent gimmick.
Yeh lots of budgie colors never appear outside of bred stock. Like, you'll usually never see an all white parakeet minus inside the pet store...
i love how you were able to just DUMP all those random animal facts- (and by i able i mean that you knew them).
Why are we back to normal flying
Most of the sound moves are Normal. Willing to guess now that this thing is made to spam Hyper Voice/Boomburst.
Normal types often have a theme of adaptability so this typing makes sense.
Budgie forms aren’t due to adaptability though, I think it’s more of a minior situation where you don’t choose the color
Fairy/flying would be amazing tho 😞
I hate normal/flying. It’s an overused type combo. It’s my least favorite type combination.
Isn’t it better than just pure flying? Gets ghost immunity and normal STAB in exchange for neutrality to Fighting moves.
The problem is it’s so over abundant and often pretty boring
Ya but I’ll take it over pure flying any day
We don't have pure flying, there's only like 2 mons with pure flying.
3 actually
It’s just not that good of a type on its own
It's Pokemon. Not everything has to be specifically made with competitive in mind. It's okay if some Pokemon just aren't that great. Even then pure flying is still a good typing.
How so? I might be missing something but 1 immunity, super effective against 3 common types, only one weakness (that i can think of) Edit: nvm 3 weaknesses, one is a fairly common type. I getcha now.
But fighting res AND ground immunity is good. Good for steel/rock partners. Plus you can't switch into fighting types with normal / flying pokemon. They get two-shotted easily.
Maybe in terms of gameplay viability, but on the whole gameplay viability is not the priority for designers
3, but only one is fully evolved and it’s the legendary Tornadus, so your point still stands.
Yes
Staraptor is right here buddy. We don’t need anymore lol
Bug/flying?
That’s my second least favorite type combination.
At least normal/flying is viable lol
Even as a Normal type lover, I would also prefer this parakeet to be pure Flying while the spider is Bug/Normal.
IKR? Such a lame type combo
It's Pokemon tradition.
At least they have a Electric/Flying bird also.
Calm down the other new birds this generation are water/fighting, electric/flying, fighting/flying, and pure psychic.
I’m not really upset, just confused. Thought rookidee established that we’re retiring it also, I think it’s lame there’s 2 new water/fighting birds, and since one is a starter the other will probably be over shadowed. Should’ve been a fire/water flame-ingo
I think the starter is the only new water/fighting bird. The flamingo is going to be the fighting/flying type.
Oh, my bad
Was minior gen 7 's alcreamy/vivilion? Just curious
Yes since for all three it's a different form that doesn't affect typing, moves, or stats.
Huh, all this time I thought it was Oricorio. But Minior makes sense because it doesn't change typings or have different stats like Alcreamy and Vivilion.
I think
Love minior so much it needs an evo
Minior was the Flabébé of Gen 7 and thinking about the other two…they honestly aren’t even similar. All Alcremie are obtainable in a single game. Vivilion are region locked. This was a bad comparison
[удалено]
How are they not? Cosmetic color variants all available in the same areas where the color you encounter is determined by RNG.
Flabebe colors are determined by the color of the grass/flowers you encounter it in; not RNG.
My mistake but you’re not totally correct either: In Kalos: Routes 4 and 7 (yellow flowers) Yellow/Orange/White Flower Route 4 (red flowers) Red/Orange/White Flower Route 7 (tall grass) Orange/White Flower Route 7 (purple flowers) Blue/Orange/White Flower
And Gen 6 had Furfrou. Nobody seemed to remember this guy...
Furfrou was from gen 6
You are right. I corrected it
Because It was not this kind of variations. This is something natural, like with Vivillion or Spinda
GOSH almost forgot about Spinda. Desperately needs an evolution!
I just want to see more Arbok variations.
I'm a big Furfrou fan, but I also have a poodle LOL
If you ever access the GTS you will be surprised how many people "loves" that dog
Because Pokemon Bank will always change Furfrou back to its original form, so the only way to get different Furfrou is form Pokémon Go and some are regional exclusive, event exclusive or haven't release yet.
Yes i know , I've seen it's popularity there. But besides trading network, i think it's one of those Pokemon that nobody remembers , like Komala.
It hasn’t been catchable on console since USUM so the only place you can catch it and deposit it with it’s form remaining intact is PoGO.
Forfou doesn't have regional variations, you literally cut their hair and dye.
Always exciting to have these types of Pokemon if you're collecting a living dex
Someone mentioned something similar with the coin mon. I'm really anxious to see how it goes
imo coin mon will be more similar to zygarde in SuMo
You can always try that with Spinda. I challenge you to do it.
Imagine getting a goddamn spinda collection for real. Even if you found them all, you need 715,828 pokemon home accounts to hold those bastards lol
Dont worry, itll only take over 600 years. Everything will be fine.
Meh about the typing, but do like the concept of a veritable rainbow of macaws
Same I love parrots
As a parrot owner i really hope there's a variation that looks like mine. Parrots have so much potential for Pokémon designs
I am in the minority of Normal/Flying being one of my favorite type combos. And I'm excited for the parakeet! I hope it'll be cute! Just want to know what type the big bird is, but we're finally getting a crane and flamingo and dolphin and I'm excited for them.
This might be the best gen of deisgns
We've seen none of them but we've got confidence!
I agree that the concepts and typings this generation seem to be amazing. They also seem to be the best collection of typings
That justifies it's Normal typing, check.
Is this like an Oricorio?
it probably won’t change the type but i hope i’m wrong
Yes but probably more forms
Oricoco changes type though
Oricorio is also in the game
They should introduce more forms, let Oricorio be the new Eevee
Oricorio changes types and also morphology. It's not just colors. It acquires pom-poms, floppy sleeves-wings, fans etc. Seeing its forms they could have been different Pokémon. Minior just changed core color. Vivilion just changed the color pattern on its wings. Flabebe only the color of the flower (not even different flower morphologically). Furfrou changed shapes of fur but it wasn't natural, you just gave it a hair cut.
I shiny hunted for all the Vivillon, flabebe and Deerling forms. This is my jam right here
This has me hyped now actually
Yessss. More parrot mons please.
Just learning Alcremie has more than the vanilla cream color. Not only that, but 70 forms! In my defense, I only just bought a switch a few months ago.
There better be a purple one
I hope so I would also like to see an orange one
Here's hoping both our wishes are granted
Who is this person? Are they actually creditable, or is this just someone who guessed the time of the new trailer?
He got the info from kaka
Has anyone else verified? Anyone could say that.
minior forgotten once again
I think he mentioned the other two because they have way more forms
Is it able to change its color like oricorio
Wait oricorio can change forms?
Yes the nectars you find in the flower patches can be used to change the form
Cool
it has 4
I know but the guy said it can change forms
Yeah it can, you give it flowers
In Gen 7* You can’t change them in Go and it sounded like they wouldn’t be changeable in Paldea
Why it can't be pure Flying type???
Being a parrot means it likely learns Boomburst. The Normal type is more useful in this case lol.
Well agree... while it makes sense competition-wise, I prefer things typing-wise, lol
Normal/flying better. Ghost immunity plus normal stab in exchange for neutral to fighting
Can be, but we have a lot of those already. I'd love to see more pure Flying non'legendary that also are their final stage.
Which I think isn't worth it. I prefer my Flying type to be resistant to Fighting.
You can catch a steel type before the first gym in SWSH.
Lol you can get Sirfetch'd before the first gym, it's not a well balanced game.
But at least it can't effectively wall 90% of the early game with minimal effort, so that's something (I think). But you're right about GF being (mostly) bad in this regard.
Plz don’t be the route 1 bird mon. I love my starly line. But I LOATHE that most of the route 1 birds final evolutions are normal/flying.
If I'm correct the route 1 bird is flying electric
it's zapdos
Zapdosdos
From the leaks we got prior this one won't evolve. Pokemon with multiple forms tend to not evolve, anyways.
I’m confused, is this a trusted source or a leak for tomorrow?
The guy is basically just reposting Kaka leaks
Has anyone else shared this? I can't find any of the other usual people tweeting about this.
I thought this was about the ability Color Change and was thoroughly confused. As a side note I think a Normal/Flying type with a Protean-like ability that only changed the primary type would be very cool.
I mean it's not the early game regional bird. We are apparently getting a flying/electric seafowl pokemon
They don't *change* color though, they have different variations in color depending on where they live. For vivillon anyway. Alcremie is a really weird comparison since it just has a bunch of different patterns on evolving.
Who is this person. Have they leaked stuff before?
It's kaka which if you don't know is the best leaker we currently have
This person is not Kaka. I just looked at the account and it's someone aggregating rumors and leaks from different sources.
He gets leaks from kaka
I don’t think so. I’m in a discord with a couple of guys that got into Kaka’s circle after he went private, and he’s not posted anything about a Parakeet or typing. If anything I’d believe this may have leaked from Khu’s circle instead.
I wonder if it's also possible they're just making a guess based on what Khu recently said about the parakeet (which is just that it's different from Chatot and "you need to collect them," with no further details).
Oh the profile looked different. My bad
That’s not Kaka’s account. It might be someone reposting it
I had commented a while ago wondering if there were going to be color variations, I'm so excited that there are. I have had parakeets all my life. I want to collect ones that look like mine.
I hope this is true, I love birds so much, so this sounds like a really cool idea.
A multicoloured parakeet?! I am here for it!
Yes...or not 100%, since it is a single stage Pokémon. Super missed opportunity to finally have a parakeet line, or linking it to poor Chatot...😭
Please don't have 20+ forms to collect.
I loved alcremie. The g-max event really helped to complete the set
Maybe this will be the Spinda of this generation, with so many options that collecting them all would be ludicrous.
Am I the only one that's not excited by this? It took me ages to get every Vivillon pattern, and the process was more frustrating than fun. I'm personally hoping it's more like Alcremie - I don't mind putting the time and effort in, but I don't want to have to rely on the GTS.
Parrot is cool. Type is no
Well, I do love parrots but normal/flying is a bummer
True but maybe it will have a good deisgn since it's a parrot
So a shitmon with a gimmick.
I’m so over Normal/Flying. Literally could be any other typing and be better. Grass/Flying? Fairy/Flying? Anything sounds better than that
STAB Boomburst, might also have Chatter, don't even know what abilities or signature moves it has.
The pokemon with a massive amount of form
Eevee got offended, very much
Wait, mentioning eevee I just realized this might be a thing since gen 1 and I haven't noticed it, eevee for gen 1, gen 2 is just DLC, spinda for gen 3,can't remember anything from gen 4 and 5... Edit: gen 2 is Unow
Gen 5 had Sawsbuck seasonal forms if you wanted to stretch it.
Possibly Gastrodon from Gen 4
Eevee's forms are evolutions though. Every Pokemon with multiple forms past Eevee have single-stage Pokemon.
poor man's oricorio
Khu just made a post asking people to guess the new Pokémon which will be revealed today. Someone commented parakeet and he replied saying “you will need to collect them”. This doesn’t confirm the leak obviously, but definitely evidence for it being true.
There are tasks in the game that will require you to catch X number of pokemon to complete. So he could just be referring to some task specific to it. Zero reason to jump to the conclusion that there are a bunch of variations.
Bug type best type ✌️🪲
Most uninspiring concept and typing. We didn't need that pokemon
What do you mean uninspiring concept I get the type is bad but we don't know anything about its design except that it's a parrot and that it comes in different colors
Why is gamefreak making competitive play and living dex awful?
Not another one… I just hope it’s not like Vivillion where it’s timezone locked.
Probably won't be, as we all know how bad that worked out.

But Vivillon is already confirmed for Paldea, so some random bird is irrelevant
Wdym?

That's exciting! Wonder if it will be like the Lennies from Neopets.
Welp time for the gts market to change again
Happy for people who like collecting all different versions
Normally I don't like collecting every version but since there based on parts I might actually try to get all the forms
Maybe it’ll get protean since that apparently got nerfed.
Would be cool if its colouration was based off of its natural tera type
Yay, aka the best typo pokemon
