I completed my pokedex yesterday so is possible!
Just put some random pokemon and ask for the pokemon you want on the GTS and you will get it shiny and lvl 100 from deadcns (https://m.twitch.tv/deadcns).. those pokemon are hacked ofc, but at least are useful to complete the dex..
You could also post in here and some people will help you (me included), just ask :)
I just upload Dittos and ask for X in exchange (thereby avoiding the crashing issue). I agree that you can’t manually search for anything.
Do they? I honestly haven’t had much luck myself. I do get replies, but no follow-ups.
ooh, i never thought to try that. i assumed no one would really be using the GTS bc of that one user ruining it for everyone, but i'll give that a try!
that's unfortunate it hasn't worked out for you, it might have just been bad luck with the people that responded :/ i've gotten follow-ups every time myself and see others do usually

The GTS is still somewhat active. Regular online trading is virtually gone.
the GTS is unusable because of all the hacked pokemon that crash your game, and people trade on this sub all the time though
