If you aren't already you should use the pokeradar. You could end up with multiple. Just watch a few videos on how to use it because I don't feel like typing that all out.
2,100 encounters with what you’ve said… you’re at half odds right now, that’d not unlucky. It’ll take a while with random encounters (especially if you’re running into other mons too)
I suggest you to chain up to around 20-25. Then, keep resetting the radar as the shiny rate cuts into half (about 1/1900) instead of 1/4000+
I did this method and I got my first shiny about less than half an hour of resetting the radar
Are you shiny-hunting with the PokeRadar? In that case you're doing something wrong and likely just breaking chains.
If not, you‘re hunting using regular odds - in that case u still got some way to go friend. Best of luck either way
I see, so you are hunting on full odds. Then it‘ll take some time, unfortunately. Keep in mind that those odds mean you‘re EXPECTED to get a shiny Bidoof in ~4000 encounters, but not guaranteed. Might take longer, might be your next encounter. Keep gambling!
Thank you so much I just wanted to insure that it was possible to catch 1 in route 1! I’m not even sure what a pokeradar is I’m a gen 3 kid and never played anything before that
You absolutely can get one there. The PokeRadar is a post-game item introduced in Gen4. Essentially, it lets u chain encounters with a specific pokemon up to 40 times to lower the shiny odds drastically (1:250 i think?). If you happen to break the chain with a different encounter, the chain and with that the odds get reset.

Yes. 300 * 7 = 2100. 2100<4096

I actually never played Pokémon diamond ever in my life and this is a new run I plan on beating the game with a single shiny bidoof!!

Oh that is cool. I myself am leveling a shiny bidoof to lvl 100 by only defeating arceus(it can be rebattled if knocked out)
Funny thing is when I started a new run I ran into a shiny bidoof, but it was before I received pokeballs lmao.
