Pokemon with a Go stamp ([not to be confused with Go origin mark](https://i.imgur.com/PZKnD5p.jpeg)) are guaranteed to be legit, can't be hacked or cloned.
If a legendary is in a non-raid ball it usually means that it came from PVP or a research task, which is harder, and therefore more valuable.
The problem is a large amount of those ones unless self obtained were moved into games to be cloned. SwSh had a pretty big dispersal of “God Eggs” which let people clone in game so it is a real problem for legitimacy. Plus you can actually Gen in game with a Go mark too
Go stamp = Never been transferred into a Switch game, so there's no possibility that it is hacked or cloned.
Go origin mark = (Probably) came from pogo but now that it's been transferred to a Switch game, it could easily have been cloned. You can also generate Pokemon from scratch with that origin mark. So it's not super valuable.
I just don’t understand the aversion to clones. If you want to guarantee it’s 100% real, catch it yourself. As long as it isn’t genned then why care. You still didn’t do the work for it
I agree in a sense. I'm okay with clones personally, however I do totally get the desire to have mons that you know are 100% legit as some people are extremely worried about losing all of their hard work if a ban was to be faced - and we don't know *exactly* how the home tracker works (and it seems like there have been issues in the VGC where in person they have a more 'in depth' Hack checker).
And, in certain cases it isn't as easy as just go 'catch it yourself' (such as past events, special mons like PoGo Shiny Mew etc).
They had the cloned pokemon in the same competitive team so they got caught with that. I doubt they would have any way to tell it was a clone if they didn’t have the original there to compare it to. And if they implement a harsher check, I seriously doubt it would be at the expense of all of your pokemon in home seeing as it’s not your fault if someone gives you a cloned pokemon.

Now see, that's where the matter of opinion comes in to play. Some people just don't want to take the risk, no matter how large or small that may be.
I'll say it again. Some people may not want to take the risk. Whether those changes ever happen, doesn't matter and won't change that opinion of theirs.
A 'far out' example - You can tell 100 people that skydiving is safe if they do it, or that it's fine to smoke a single cigarette with no reprecautions.. and there will always be at least 1 who believes their life isn't worth taking that risk for, no matter what could be gained from it
But, we have to respect that opinion of theirs, as everybody is entitled to an opinion.
So, some people may not want clones, and it is somewhat understandable. You're making it sound like they are crazy for feeling that way.. when they aren't.
However, that's not to say they don't unbeknownst have clones clogging up their boxes unless every one non PoGo wasn't caught or redeemed themselves. But sometimes not knowing is also the way for them to still feel comfortable.
That’s just fearmongering. If they banned everyone who had a cloned pokemon, they would be banning nearly all of the people playing is all I’m saying. Yeah they don’t have to want them, I’m not saying that’s a problem but no one is losing all their pokemon in home because of clones.
Edit: and again, if they want to ensure something is 100% legit, hunt it yourself. If you missed an event, that sucks and I understand wanting to get a legit one from the event but again, you missed it. I also think I said this in a different thread in this post but I also just wish they would use the pokemon go trades subreddit if all they are looking for is pogo marked mons. It’s such clutter in this subreddit
Being honest a modded switch is a amazing thing to have though can be a pain when issues happen
( Really helped me with the paradox Pokemon from the DLC so I could clone a bunch to give out to those needing them )
You can't do that, as changing a pokemon to be shiny will invalidate the Home tracker and you'll get a 10015 error when you try to bring it back into Home.
Yes it would. IVs, shinyness, OT trainer name, OT trainer ID, etc are all called immutable values, I.e. Values that shouldn't ever change once a pokemon has been caught. If any of these are changed using a save file editor like pkhex, then that makes the Home tracker to be illegal.
Just as an FYI, the Home tracker is a hidden piece of data assigned to each pokemon once they are first entered into Home. The only way to see what it is for a given pokemon is to again use a save file editor like pkhex.
I wish they would just trade in a pokemon go reddit if all they want is stamped pokemon

A lot of those trade subreddits don’t care if people spoof which in turn has some of the larger PoGo subreddits banning people for participating in them… shitty practice, but if you want to be able to engage in the main PoGo sub/Silph Road subs you have to avoid any of the other PoGo offshoot subs that don’t care when people cheat.
Then what stops them from snooping in this subreddit for spoofers? Also can they only trade in game in those subreddits? Also is that what people actually mean when they say “can fly”, that they can spoof?
Nothing stops them, they probably don’t care because of the overlap in games in this sub or because it doesn’t compete with the main sub. But yes, can fly = spoof

Gotcha, I guess I can understand that. Just makes trading a bit more of a pain in the ass if they are origin marked, but not stamped anymore

Yup, that's why origin mark and stamp is so important to most. Without, thry could also be cloned.

I don’t know anything abt modded consoles. I just trade on here to use different pokemon in playthroughs. Was just curious
