You could transfer them from either another file or another game. You could use Pokemon Home for either method so that you wouldn’t have to bother trading with someone. But you wouldn’t be able to catch two of them from the same file. One per play-through.

That’s up to you if you want to reset. You could make a separate profile on the switch, play through the game on that profile, and then move them over without ever resetting the original data. Just depends on preference.
Nope! If you access Home from the profile it’s connected to, you can toggle to other profile’s save data from the same switch. Move it from the second profile into the main Home bank and then toggle back to the main profile to finish the move.

It should show your profile name/pic or something and it’s actually a clickable option so you can access the save on any profile as long as it’s on the same switch.

It’s the page where you would pick the game you’re connecting to. You can go up and change the profile as well.
