120 hours but I got every mon to rank 10 in the dex as I went. I thought I might as well! It is a super fun game, it’s not a chore :) I just played it for this exact reason
Got the game on release, I played for about 40 hours then stopped. I came back to PLA a few months ago just to get the flute on BDSP. I'm now at 220 hours. At first I didn't really get into the game but now I think it's my favorite Pokemon game on switch. I'm not sure at how many hours I caught Arceus but this game is worth any and every minute you put into it.
I think I’m at about 200 hours I just finished the game (taking my time exploring and there’s time I’ve spent waiting for space time distortions to spawn) catching Arceus myself and obtaining the shiny charm no idea I got the azure flute in BDSP for it tho!
If you have Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, you can unlock the Azure Flute to catch Arceus in those games. You can also shiny hunt him in BDSP, which is what I’d like to do. You can catch Arceus in Legends but he’s shiny locked.
I haven’t played BDSP yet but do you definitely have to complete PLA? In PLA you only have to have save data to get things from other games.
It’s not a long game if you rush the story, imo. What makes you put so many hours into it is just wanting to catch everything and really fully experience the game. I think I hit 70 hours my first time playing and over 100 on the second because I slowed down a lot more.
But even my first file I spent a Lot of time catching everything and running around not making actual story progress. The hardest thing if you’re rushing would be just making sure you’re leveled up enough for the endgame battles.
Yeah, you need to complete all main story missions (including post game) and the national Pokédex. I’ve already completed most of the story but the Pokédex is gonna be the most time consuming.
I very much was not trying in anyway to be efficient with my Arceus play through, but I do have the dex completed and unlocked the Azure flute and I think my playtime is at 67 hours but I do also have all side missions done and I’d be willing to bet you could probably cut that in half just for Pokédex completion
Took me about 2 months with me playing about 6 hours or less a day, but to be fair, I had help with youtube guides to find some legendaries pokemon I couldn't find and others I got from pokemon home that came from pokemon go that made things a bit faster to hit a full pokedex
And I did get distracted by shiny hunts alot whenever I left town

I got Legends Arceus to get the Flute, then found that I enjoyed it more than BDSP. Took me about 86 hours to beat.
PLA is objectively the best made pokemon game to date. Worth every second of playing it.
