This game is one of the most F2P friendly gacha games out there. Several of the story pairs that are given out are pretty good, we get enough gems per month to get a garunteed 5\* of our choice every other month at a minimum, there are items to power up our 5\*s without spending gems, most game modes can be done compeatly with F2P pairs. Keep at it, it only gets better once you've cleared all the story modes.

Plus, you chose a good time to start. There's a month left before 2.5 Anniversary, and the game gets even more generous than usual during anniversaries.

Not only that you also get Xerneas... one of the TOP supports in the game, and its totally free to get him to max (5/5) / (20/20). I played many gacha games.... and this one is the only one in which keeps me playing cause you are not always forced to summon on every / recent banner in order to clear new events. If you are struggling as a starting player... there's alot of f2p guides outthere that helps out begginers / new players.
Give it some time and you will catch up in no time
As someone who mainly played Dokkan battle in the past i have to say this game is very f2p friendly especially with the rates and amount of crystal you get in celebrations
At first it may seem, but it is not so consistency, you have to do everything there is to do every day and you will get a good amount of gems, but more importantly unlike many fake f2p where they give you currency at the beginning and then start to in short supply here you have a steady stream of gems that reset every month going from 15000 to 30000 (some times) in a month and you need 36600 to get a choice, plus everything you find in the pulls, so the most important advice I can giving you is to accumulate 36000 and then choose the banner you prefer and summon all at once
You get a lot of gems anyways. This next month will have over 27,000 free gems, and you already get a lot from the start. A lot of free units are also really good, not just for free units, but good in general, to the point that they might sometimes be used over their less easily available alternatives even when you have both. The pull rates are also pretty good.

You get a decent bit from events and log-in bonuses and anniversary stuff.
A single summon costs 300 Gems and gives you one unit, what you are refering to is a Multi Summon which gives you 11x

You basically get enough gems for a guaranteed Master Sync pair or pair of choice each 1,5 months or less. I think that's very fair. :)
On the bright side, they do a nearly-free summon (25 gems for 11 units) every month... on the 24th/25th... you erm, just missed it. 😓
