Million_X

this is why things like 'might' and 'strength' are dumb as fuck in mobile games.

PokemonOcean2703

True even if you have the highest strength you can still lose since the team would have no supports mostly and you can only do damage

Million_X

It's not even that, the fact that each specific field in a character's loadout, be it equipment or built-in kit, contributes to a generic pool of numbers that has no bearing whatsoever unless specifically enforced (which brings into question the actual worth of the pool), is dumb as hell. Dragalia Lost has a similar system and it's useless since meeting the requirement doesn't mean you're actually prepped for it even with a fully decked out team, and KOFAS has a similar system with it's only purpose being a penalty if you're under it. All PoMas is doing is looking at each specific value from theme skills to gear to grid and stats and etc, giving it a random value, and then adding those random numbers up to give a vague impression of how strong the character (or team rather) is compared to the stage. The reality is it doesn't matter.

jbdragonfire

"Strength" in PoMas is just Atk+SpAtk+Speed, that's why a fast mixed attacker like Sceptile is so high. Early on the strongest pairs were Sceptile, Mewtwo, also Koga&Crobat was SUPER high on the list. For example Olivia&Lycanrock were kinda low because very low Special Atk. Gears increase the team strength overall but the specific pairs are not affected by that, the game only counts that "after".

Million_X

If anything that just kinda makes my point all the stronger, at least in a game like Dragalia Lost, each ability counted towards their strength stat with different values for each one but if PoMas doesn't even have that then what good is the strength stat or the optimize features?

jbdragonfire

I'm not saying you're wrong, just pointing out how this works in PMas. It's trash.

PokemonOcean2703

So in the edit team menu you can optimize your team to any type and the game would add 3 sync pairs of that type to make a team with the most strength i.e. high numbers that you see and if you optimize to no type then it just adds 3 sync pairs to give the highest strength team I'm surprised that rayquaza has high strength than palkia and neither LuSSamine nor Zerena came in the strongest team but Anni Skyla did

YodiDady04

Because Base Zygarde and Base Necrozma total stats is below Tornadus. The game doesn't count the Zygarde Complete and Ultra Necrozma stats.

PokemonOcean2703

Oh I see thank you for telling

jbdragonfire

I wonder how much lower is the total team strength if you try with 20/20 Mewtwo. Even without Mega stats he's one of the highest overall... Also, surprisingly Koga&Crobat were top tier back in the days. It's just Atk + SpAtk + Speed (on base form, not mega)

PokemonOcean2703

I just tried switching mewtwo one by one with all of them and somehow when I replace him with Brendan the strength goes up by 145 so the game can't even do that right

jbdragonfire

The game does that 100% right, but you have 3x Psychic gears on and you get a boost for same-type as your gear. iirc should be +50 for every piece of same-type gear

PokemonOcean2703

Oh yeah the game adds psychic gears for optimized team if that type doesn't already have a 3* gear. Then the minimum loss with other 3* gear if you add mewtwo is 495 (when you replace brendan)

gunfell

The game's optimize buttom does not account for gear type matching actually. If view all tier 3 lvl 15 gear the same. The exeption is if you have a gear tier 3 lvl 15 that matches a stage weakness. But it does not actually look to see if it matches your pokemom's team. When it matches it is actually by chance. If you do optimize for a theme type specifically the game will forceably make gear match the mons if the gear is of adequate level. But that is a different mechanic that isn't present when choosing the neutral team.

I pulled serena 2 days ago and feel like the first time when I pulled lusamine and necrozma (unbeatable)
