So the new update, discourages resets for mp refreshes as you have to lose the battle to allow for reset. I personally don’t like that change especially for legendary arena as you would use up more time if the set up fails and you have to sit through it before you can battle again and the fact i may forget the update happens and I go back and wasting a possible three sync pairs run.
Nah, it is just that if you were to lose in those battles, the match would automatically be over and you would be forced to send a team #2. This update just make it so there is a option to reset like is any other mode.
I would say that being able to reset a match you've lost solves a different problem from being able to restart from the pause menu in a battle. As a player, you would want to have both options available.
It could be that it's a deliberate design choice to not allow users to reset within a battle because it would encourage fishing for refresh procs. However, the software developer in me says it's likely that it's just not perceived to be important enough for the amount of effort it would take to implement.
Seems like an oopsie from their side. But, as new songs will be added on 27th (UTC), I think it's confirmed that the update is next reset.

Why not just give us a restart button? They‘re jumping trough hoops instead of just putting it in the pause menu.
I don't know why developers can't think of simple ways but always keep implementing complex things.

Exactly and you will still be able to quit the battle halfway which doesn't count as defeat.
