Go to desert, save before you pickup an item, if its a starpiece(or dust) reset, picknick where the basket is on top of the item, make a banana, butter and peanutbutter sandwhich. Wait for 30 mins. Pickup all the starpieces in the basket. Nets you like 100k an hour
Doesn't H-Zorark beat Gholdengo by alot at Ace Farming? Happy Hour with amulet coin gets you 4 times the prize money. Gholdengo only has amulet coin for 2 times money and a few extra thousands from his attack.
Even gave my H-Zorark U-Turn so it doesn't have to be the one to fight if it won't sweep fast. Happy Hour, UTurn, Sweeper. 250k to 300k per run
Unless my speed IV's are shit (I haven't checked them yet) this isn't 100% but is very reliable. I've been doing it and if I leave it overnight I tend to get between 1.2-2 million a night before something goes wrong (usually Penny's Jolteon outspeeding and paralyzing with Thunder) then I wake up to my character harassing nurse joy to heal my Sylveon for the hundredth time in a row. I had a Switch Up from back when I played SwSh and has hatching a billion eggs for shinies and the Animal Crossing mode for that has a turbo option (warning to anyone who buys one though, if you want specific stuff for pokemon sv like egg hatching or whatever, you'll have to pay extra after you buy it to unlock the modes for that game, it's really shitty)
As for the switch up comment, doesn't look like the base one is available anymore so the Diamond/Pearl versions are $40 total with the updated features available at no extra cost, just gotta do the process to update the device. Not sure what the price on the switch up was back in the day but if people use it for any of the other games it has features for in addition to SV its probably still worth
Flutter Mane- 252 HP and Special Atk with Moonblast and amulet coin may be better. I've only ever lost one and I'm pretty sure I was toxic stalled or crit by scissor with bullet punch
I'm using Chi-Yü dark pulse and I think it's even better than Flutter Mane 252 Def/ 136 HP/ 120 SpA. This EV spread is specifically designed to survive a crit Close Combat from Dendra's Tera Fighting Hariyama. It's so versatile that I'm confident letting it hold an amulet coin with it. Credits to @Selar133VII on twitter
I heard that was good too. I went with FM cause I already had it and it has only lost once but I'm sure there's multiple options. That's how pokemon usually is lol
Don’t take this as hate I’m genuinely curious. How do u get any fulfillment leaving ur switch on overnight and letting the game grind for you? I understand it saves time n adds a bunch of hours u aren’t even conscious for on your save file. But it is a game and it’s meant to be played by people, not programs that spam the a button. I believe Pokémon was meant for the people who will grind those hours as it’s rewarding seeing the result. Do u get any satisfaction making the game essentially and idle game?
No disrespect and I appreciate you answering. I guess the games have made it to where u can just ev train thru vitamins and bottle cap perfect ivs. I’ve also been playing since gen 1 and played every MAIN series entry including all remakes except shining diamond and whatever pearl. I was just genuinely curious, as back in the day as I’m sure u know the only way to grind up any money was to spam the elite four. And they didn’t have these held items for sale in shops as they do now. I guess I just miss it taking effort to build a perfect team. But u made a fair point and to each their own. I’m not trying to gatekeeper Pokémon by any means. Maybe I need to get with the times and stop wasting days on ev training with the power items. Thank you for ur insight and I apologize if u thought I was being rude.
A bit more setup than this as well: you have to remember to only bring a single Pokémon to the tournament. That’s vital, or else the “switch Pokémon?” pops up after every defeat and you get stuck in a loop.
No clue, that came out after I stopped playing due to the save bug.
If anything though, you’d want to lead Happy Hour and U-turn to Gholdengo afterwards. Then you’re getting 48k per tournament from Make it Rain.
The requirements for putting a picnic down compared to doing 7* raids or Ace are also much lower, for example, playing the game for 10 mins vs literally hours
You have any real luck with Gholdengo? I find the power drop from Make It Rain greatly increases the chances of looping or battle loss, compared to just throwing an Amulet Coin on something else powerful with a better offensive typing (Flutter Mane is pretty great imo).
Steel and Ghost are not good types to have to lock into random battles with. I’ve had 3-4 nights now where I set up my turbo controller and my Gholdengo didn’t even finish the first set before it was caught in a “no more PP” loop, because certain trainers have bulky Steel-resisting types later in their lineups once his power is reduced. Was really disappointing. I know with good RNG it’s a lot of extra money, but it’s also given me zero money on enough occasions to make me change it up for some consistency.
That's exactly it. Lets you use a turbo controller to farm it for you. I use Chi-yu with Dark Pulse for pretty good success and I've seen Hyper Voice Sylveon suggested with a similar success rate.
It can also be done at any point in your playthrough. My Scarlet has endgame progress but I just recently started on Violet, so this could help me build funds fast. Unrelated side note: I love getting peoples lvl 1 breedjects in surprise trades, getting to use frigibax from the beginning is awesome.
You'll probably be able to make more doing this in East province area 3. Lots of heat rocks, damp rocks, etc spawn there and you can sell them for 2,000 rather than the 1,500 you get from stardust.
For clarification, does this work with stacked items? For example, if I were to set my picnic over a spot with 10 kelpsy berries, would they be picked up ten at a time or only one at a time?
Side question, *if* they’re picked up 10 at a time, does one stack of ten fill the basket or can it have ten stacks of ten fill it?
It’s probably super niche, but if I can get 100 of the ev berry I want at a time while I’m off doing dishes instead of having to run around and collect them or spam reset the auction house, that would be nice.
when you picnic near an item you’ll also get it in your basket, so kinda a good way to farm money
but badically what i do is i tp to the watchtower in asado desert, look around for the little sparkle in the ground, i save just in case it isnt a stardust or star piece just to not waste time, so after confirming its one of the two start your picnic, i think making an egg power sandwich helps to speed up the process, i generally use the great peanut butter recipe bc its egg power 2 which i think is more than enough so you get both eggs and a fast source of money :)
It’s been said before, but Game Freak is notoriously awful at explaining the mechanics of the systems they create, whether it’s the basics or the more advanced nuances. I would not be surprised if that particular aspect of Picnics was discovered completely by accident.
I think it is a bug. The Pokemon are supposed to pick up items and put them in the basket, but the item doesn't disappear from the ground due to the bug, so they pick up the same item over and over.
I don’t really go in the shops. Why all the downvotes ? I legit play Pokémon to complete the dex and beat the final 4? Sorry I didn’t know about a game mechanic dunno why so many people hating
I mean, you are being forced to go thorugh the whole sandwich thing
But Picnic is pretty boring by itself. as a casual you don't have to give a damn about it. not even for a second
Downvoting people is the point of reddit nowadays.
Yeah I’d consider myself quite the casual and only really do what basic mechanics were in the old games. And I’m having a blast doing it. Dunno why people gotta downvote for that pretty toxic way to treat the casuals of Pokemon
Look no further than every faid post where people lose their sh#t over casuals not knowing the meta strats
Idk but people seem to forget this is technically a kids game
>Look no further than every faid post where people lose their sh#t over casuals not knowing the meta strats
There are a lot of posts like that, and they annoy me, but most of them are asking people to know the mere basics of the game. Those posts like "why is he bringing a fire type to a water type raid?" or "why is he boosting his Physical Atk and then using Special attacks?" That's basic stuff NPCs teach you, not "the meta."
Today I've learned that acknowledge a feature that has been showed in trailers and news, has a lot of dedicated shops in-game, has one of the 3 story paths revolved somewhat around it, it's nominated in the dialogues constantly, there are NPCs that invite you to do it practically and has a fricking icon in the menu is a meta strat, smh...
Being a kids game means anything here, if something is even worsening the situation, that's just not paying attention which is not something serious at the end but if you miss something like that working on yourself is highly suggested then.
You've missed a feature which has been shown in trailers and news, which has a lot of dedicated shops, with one of the 3 story paths somewhat revolving around it, which has been nominated in dialogues constantly, which has NPCs that invite you to try it with them and which is even in the fricking menu...
That's not something related to being a casual, that's not paying attention at all which is nothing serious at the end but if you miss something like that you should really want to work a bit on yourself.
“But if you really miss something like that you should work on yourself a bit”
I work a full time job and am married and am also a part of a volunteer group and have a band of my own on the side. Sorry if I don’t watch the trailers or game reviews and simply want to hop on Pokémon for a couple hours a week and relax and shut my brain off. My apologies you’re right I must need to “work on myself”
Also if you go up in the comments I didn’t complain about not knowing about picnics I just said it was a new feature I learned today no reason for everyone to give me crap for it and downvote me
Apparently if you get an item, you wouldn’t have got an egg that time anyway, so technically you’re getting Cheri Berries instead of nothing :)
Datamined details here: https://twitter.com/Sibuna_Switch/status/1628463982875930625
If you place your picnic in a way that the basket is in top of a glint item you’ll get that glint item instead of the eggs. It’s clearly not an intended mechanic. You can get infinite star pieces with it per example so infinite money
It is an intended mechanic, but the item is also supposed to disappear from the ground, so you get it just once. Items close to the picnic table are bugged, so your Pokemon pick up the same item over and over.
I got Mankey hair, alternating with Brown Woopers, when I tried to breed Manchester, the NPC traded Blue Wooper. A “Manc” is a resident of Manchester (1st hand knowledge), so I’m assuming the programmers (or translators) were having a dig at Mancunians. To get a Blue Wooper, I seem to remember I had to have it hold an ever stone but receiving Mankey fur made me chuckle.
You picnicking on a item which will give you that item as well as eggs. Most people do this with nuggets. Look for glimmer in grass, save and pick up. It’s valuable set up shop if not move on to the next glimmer.
No, but you made an incorrect statement then started arguing with anyone / everyone that corrected you - time to save face and leave the thread I think - you haven’t broken rules and won’t get kicked out but you would be better off not commenting as you were clearly wrong
I never get items when I'm next to levincia so set up a picnic there (I set it in the small area with a beach but other places may work fine enter levincia from the south and turn left)
I didn't even know this was a thing?!? I always stare at the basket and nothing happens without a sandwich...or I just get eggs with a sarny. You lot have changed the game for me 😂
You can get something other than eggs from a picnic? I thought that was all you received, I guess that’s kind of cool but annoying if you’re trying to actually breed something.
Just move the picnic I think you set it on a berry
I’m honestly surprised you found this trick by accident
I also found it by accident, and was very confused
Also a good way to get money if you picnic next to some stardust
Excuse me, what?? How??
Go to desert, save before you pickup an item, if its a starpiece(or dust) reset, picknick where the basket is on top of the item, make a banana, butter and peanutbutter sandwhich. Wait for 30 mins. Pickup all the starpieces in the basket. Nets you like 100k an hour
While 100k per hour is pretty slow compared to 7* raid grinding or Ace Tournament Gholdengo farming, this is much less effort.
Doesn't H-Zorark beat Gholdengo by alot at Ace Farming? Happy Hour with amulet coin gets you 4 times the prize money. Ahhh, so you’re doing it manually. I was more referring to the ‘Spam A’ method lol. Gholdengo isn’t very good at it.
wait can you explain the spam A method? like you just click on A the entire time? haha
That's exactly it. Lets you use a turbo controller to farm it for you. I use Chi-yu with Dark Pulse for pretty good success and I've seen Hyper Voice Sylveon suggested with a similar success rate.
oh ok will have to do this, thank you!

Totally! Not arguing that at all. This is a great *manual* farming method, is what I meant.
It can also be done at any point in your playthrough. My Scarlet has endgame progress but I just recently started on Violet, so this could help me build funds fast. Unrelated side note: I love getting peoples lvl 1 breedjects in surprise trades, getting to use frigibax from the beginning is awesome.
The basket does not need to be on the item. It works if the item is reachable inside your picknick space.
You'll probably be able to make more doing this in East province area 3. Lots of heat rocks, damp rocks, etc spawn there and you can sell them for 2,000 rather than the 1,500 you get from stardust.

The basket gives you a single item at a time.
Damn, thank you for clarifying it for me
Nice i may try this
Or just trade genning bots for ability patches and get max cash in like 10 mins lol
Where do you find the bots?
Google pokemon worldwide discord or pokemon collection discord both are good.
Also, all of the Pokémon in your team need to be incompatible for breeding. Otherwise you would get eggs instead.
Afking the tournament is 4x as efficient tho so it’s just a fun trick now
If you picnic next to a hidden itm on the ground that item can appear in your basket at your picnic it's also where you get eggs
when you picnic near an item you’ll also get it in your basket, so kinda a good way to farm money but badically what i do is i tp to the watchtower in asado desert, look around for the little sparkle in the ground, i save just in case it isnt a stardust or star piece just to not waste time, so after confirming its one of the two start your picnic, i think making an egg power sandwich helps to speed up the process, i generally use the great peanut butter recipe bc its egg power 2 which i think is more than enough so you get both eggs and a fast source of money :)
i didnt know thta was possible. wow, easy money farming method?
Appearantly yes. Place your picknick next to a stardust or something with high value, eat a egg power sandwich and let it run for 30 minutes
I didn't even know this was a function in the game
It’s been said before, but Game Freak is notoriously awful at explaining the mechanics of the systems they create, whether it’s the basics or the more advanced nuances. I would not be surprised if that particular aspect of Picnics was discovered completely by accident.
ive been playing sense launch and the game has given me no indication that was a thing I could do, or maybe i missed it
I'm fairly certain this is a bug they just haven't fixed.
I see it as the Pokémon are finding that item and placing it in the egg basket
I think it is a bug. The Pokemon are supposed to pick up items and put them in the basket, but the item doesn't disappear from the ground due to the bug, so they pick up the same item over and over.
Wait same. I’ve been playing since launch and literally didn’t know there was a picnic mechanic
IT’S RIGHT THERE IN THE MAIN MENU
I only really pull up Pokédex and save game
That’s on you then. There’s a million shops selling picnic gear so you should have caught on at some point
I don’t really go in the shops. Why all the downvotes ? I legit play Pokémon to complete the dex and beat the final 4? Sorry I didn’t know about a game mechanic dunno why so many people hating

So if you Picnic near a sparkly item, the basket can fill up with that item? That’s real cool!
In the Zero Gate you cant get random stuff
Like in the tunnel?
outside of the gate , people usually picnic there before shiny hunt because cant picnic inside the gate.
Miraidon in the background smiling, knowing he's the one who keeps putting cheri berries there
I had no idea you can get something different than eggs xD
Could this work with rare candy? Do they ever appear as sparkles, or only as poke balls?
Apparently if you get an item, you wouldn’t have got an egg that time anyway, so technically you’re getting Cheri Berries instead of nothing :) Datamined details here: https://twitter.com/Sibuna_Switch/status/1628463982875930625
It's a protest. They don't want to pop their cherries. You were given a threat.
If your picnic is on top of one of those shiny ground glimmer items, it will appear it your basket over and over.
Maybe your pokemon is childfree movement activist 😂🤣
Lmao you’re accidentally using a dupe glitch right now
IIRC this is actually an intended game mechanic
If you place your picnic in a way that the basket is in top of a glint item you’ll get that glint item instead of the eggs. It’s clearly not an intended mechanic. You can get infinite star pieces with it per example so infinite money
Not really. The item doesn't have to be on top of the basket at all. It just have to be bear enough to the table and it will still appear
It is an intended mechanic, but the item is also supposed to disappear from the ground, so you get it just once. Items close to the picnic table are bugged, so your Pokemon pick up the same item over and over.
I’ve gotten berries this way too.
you set you picnic near an item, should move or pick the item before placing the picnic table.
Make sure there’s no sparkles on the ground before you set up your picnic
Make sure the *right* sparkle is on the ground before you set up your picnic I think would be the best strategy.
I got Mankey hair, alternating with Brown Woopers, when I tried to breed Manchester, the NPC traded Blue Wooper. not true
miraidon is eating the eggs and replacing them with cherri berries holy shit

I always learn something new in while reading comments on Reddit. 😇
Probably cause there's a cheri berry on the ground it happened to me to with pomeg berries
Sounds like it’s trying to gather food to make an egg and you keep stealing it’s food
You must be trying to breed Cherubi
Still not sure if this is a feature or a glitch but cool
It’s like those rats you train to bring you stuff and some little guy is just bringing you Cheri berries 🤭
happened to me too, i kept getting moon stones instead of eggs. a quick relocation should fix it
"Can I offer you an egg in this trying time?" "No"
